  3. Since there are only bigfoot photos out there I'll join in and post a majorly cropped obscure one as well but at least it shows a major landmark and a closeup Watch as coaster nerd YouTube users use this stupid photo crop image because they can't wait a few weeks until opening day as they salivate at anything they can get and don't believe when I say it's already there (moreso than White Lightning lol)...

  4. No body slides at Holiday World so no worries there. You'll have time to do some of the other slides, lazy River, wave pool, etc for sure, just don't expect super short lines for anything in the waterpark. Zinga (tornado slide) and the enclosed purple one (ZOOMBOBWAY) have notoriously long and slow lines. While fun, not worth it IMO and you might have trouble finding a group to ride with. Otto-ron-go, the enclosed black slides, are fun for single riders and lines are quick. As always in the waterpark, the more weight per boat/tube/etc the faster you'll fly. I think they have scales on everything now though that will give you a red or green light for whatever group you end up with, so long are the days when you could put 4 adults on the purple slide of death lol. I'll never, ever, ever forget that ride and the biggest mindf*ck I've ever had on a ride.... lol. It's a fun park and fantastic water park for sure. Don't listen to Coasterbill who will poo poo on your parade. If you like turkey and thanksgiving-like food, eat at Plymouth Rock. The food court near the entrance there is a large variety, the food is OK, but if you want some unique eats go for Plymouth Rock Cafe down near Voyage instead. Take advantage of the free sunscreen and the free drinks/Gatorade/tea. Also they have Dole Whip in the waterpark if you're into that.

  5. Tickets at work sells tix for the park...we used T@W for our visit a few years ago, and they were valid for Preview plan.

  6. Not an expert but been enough times for some pointers. I've never been RECENTLY In the heart of summer, but for a Friday, even with a holiday weekend, I don't think you'll have an issue getting everything given your itinerary. If it's nice weather your longest lines are going to be the water coasters, but, mammoth and wildebeest both have single rider lines and they will group you with others. Most people are family's and don't utilize it. I didn't notice if cheetah chase had one, but I don't think it did. That one was tough given the weight distributions for my party we had to find other people to ride with w/o the help of the ops. When you say water park, I'm just assuming the 3 water coasters and nothing else. You can spend all day in just the water park if you are doing all the other slides... easy. There are some other fun ones (but with no single rider lines be prepared to wait a LONG time for things in the waterpark), but really, for the truly unique experience just go with the 3 "coasters". There are dividers meaning people won't be in your lap for wildebeest and cheetah chase, but you'll still get people's feet near/to the side of you unless you're in the back row. Mammoth is a non issue and is very comfortable and you'll get on quick in the single rider line. Don't make the rookie mistake of doing the dry coasters in order from the top of the hill when the park opens (UNLESS you can beat the rush) because pretty much EVERYONE goes to Raven first. And then when people see when that line is too long they go next on the pecking order to Legend. Etc. The lines for those two are long around opening time / the first hour or two until the water park opens. Probably best to make the VERY long trek to Thunderbird (+ rerides) FIRST if you get there at open, then do voyage (+ retyides) and then do gobbler getaway right near the Voyage, then hop on over to the drop tower, log flume, and finally Legend and Raven. Then do the waterpark with single rider lines. Then if there is any extra time after the waterpark that's when you'll want rerides on the dry side and there will be no lines for Raven and Legend. Let me know if you have any other questions. Some other locals might have better advice but that's generally what I've seen and my order of operations that I'd recommend to cram in as much as possible. Don't forget the time zone difference from the rest of the area! Another rookie mistake, lol

  7. So Aquaman, you know, that ride that was announced in 2019? Is it actually going to open this summer? I know it’s not a carousel that takes the minimum required 3 years to overhaul, so this seems excessive.

  8. Visited CW for the first time since 2016 on Friday and had a decent visit. Here's my observations: Good - Yukon Striker is outstanding. In my opinion, this is the best B&M dive coaster that I have been on (that list includes Sheikra, Griffon and Valravn). The first drop into the underwater tunnel is a great thrill with an imposing headchopper visual, the "inline twist" element (?) was disorienting and the ride as is of course tradition was glass smooth. I also got a kick out of the mobile Loose Item bins. More rides should use something like that! - Leviathan was still running beautifully. While I feel it is the weakest of the 3 B&M gigas I have been on, it still boasts an incredible first drop (again into a tunnel offering a nice headchopper effect), the train flies through the course and even has a moment or two of nice floater air, and like Yukon Striker, the ride is as smooth as a baby's bottom. Great stuff, especially riding in the front seat. - Vortex was running great. I seem to remember a pothole on a portion of the track, but the train flew and swung smoothly through the course. Like its twin at Kings Island, the ride is too short, but is still quite fun. I like the new mine car-style theme on the trains too. - SledgeHammer is awesome. I know it may not be a popular opinion, but this one of a kind Huss Jump2 is a unique ride experience that offers some unusual sensations all without being nauseating. My only complaint about the ride are the absurdly bulky restraints. They are a bit too claustrophobic and can cause some headbanging on the "jump up" moments, but overall, if this ride is operating, I say ride it. Average - Behemoth. What happened here? Perhaps it is early in the season, and perhaps it was because temps were in the low 60's (Fahrenheit), but Behemoth seemed to be running a bit sluggish. It's a good ride still, but it didn't seem to fly through the course like Diamondback at Kings Island. Heck, Intimidator at Carowinds seemed faster than Behemoth. Bad - Ride Cycle times. It seemed that most of the flat rides here had painfully short cycles. Psyclone literally swung 5 or 6 times and then slowed to a stop. Soaring Timbers went around 6 times and that was it. The carriage didn't even flip. And the Swing of the Century's cycle timed in at 47 seconds. Yes, the park was semi crowded, but these are just crazy short ride times. On the plus side, SledgeHammer runs for about 2 minutes and Klockwerks ran a respectable cycle, but most other rides were not even worth lining up for. - Carrousel "music". I didn't know if this should be considered bad, but the park's beautiful Antique Carrousel (the sign did have two R's) is lacking a band organ or recorded music, so one of the ride ops sang "If You're Happy and You Know It" while the ride spun. Now that is an odd choice of tunes! - And finally, the food lines were simply insane. Thankfully I had a very limited amount of time to spend at the park and ended up eating elsewhere, but jeez, those lines looked like they could sap at least 45 minutes out of your day. It was great to be back in Canada again and I hope to visit CW one more time before the season is over. The park is well maintained, the employees were friendly (and were all wearing masks), and the ride selection is definitely one of the more varied ones in North America. I see Duran Duran is playing the Molson Amphitheater in August, so a trip to visit the CNE, Wonderland and a concert with newly inducted Rock And Roll Hall of Famers sounds like a plan to me!

  9. Try as they might, there is nothing in the vast multiverse that can save Predator. Even RMC would look at it and give up.

  10. I feel like enthusiasts put too much stock in what is and isn't on a manufacturer's website so sorry in advance for doing exactly that but it seems weird that they would be promoting these models on their website and then not offering parts for them at all.

  13. and they JUST updated an hour ago. . it's opening to the public tomorrow! UPDATE: After more than six months of retracking work, The Beast is scheduled to re-open to guests on Sunday May 8. The 43-year-old wooden roller coaster -- the longest in the world at 7,361 feet -- has received over 2,000 ft. of replacement track and a steeper first drop.

  14. Iron Dragon already vallied. Opening weekend tradition lol. Not at the park today but will probably hit it next weekend. So far zero rides are open due to wind/cold combination, as per coasterbill.

  20. I know TPR doesn't really care about culture as much as THEME PARKS so I wanted to get some coasters going in this P:TR! That being said, lets get going! My home park is SFMM, the crown jewel of the Six Flags chain. Even though I'm on a TPR trip, my exposure to theme parks outside of California and the Busch parks is actually quite limited, so Six Flags Mexico was actually my second Six Flags Park ever. I have to say that I loved it...it reminded me of a hilly version of Knotts Berry Farm and was really a beautiful place. Anyway, I'm just posting these photos in the order I took them so they kinda jump around a little bit. The entrance plaza. Already looks far more promising than the beauty that is my SFMM. Bienvenidos!!!! Yes, that's right. A Pase Anual is $490 pesos. That's $37 USD. From the outside of the park, Medusa Wood Coaster looms high above and makes for a cool setting. Our first ride of the day was Superman but wait a second.... Holy crap!!! This IS a Six Flags park, right?!?!?! No way. It can't be. It looks too good. Superman's station. The ride is kind of separated from the park making it difficult to photograph. But their new ride, Joker, was right in the middle of a midway and looked really nice. SFM managed to make it look much better than it did in California. That gun in the center spins. Just like the coaster cars. We live in the future. This is what it looks like from the queue, if you actually decided to wait in it. We got lead on earlier in the day with a minimal wait. Superman! The only Hyper coaster in Mexico. My first chance to finally say it: Superman THROUGH THE TREES!!! And Joker again. This is Batman, but you may not recognize it because in Mexico, it's disguised as an SLC. This is my first SLC and well, other than the obnoxiously huge restraints it wasn't that bad of a ride. In the same way that I thought Flashback at SFMM wasn't that bad of a ride. That's superman behind it. Batman's twisty loop thingie and Superman's second hill. Medusa Wood Coaster. It rattled at the bottom of the drops but was really enjoyable. There go a bunch of happy TPR members!!! When the train went around the turn at the top of this lift, the whole structure swayed like 6 feet. I may but under-stating that, too. If you haven't ridden it yet, too bad. You never will. Instead you will have to ride it in it's newer more badass form as an RMC caoster. Dark Knight. Apparently it's the same as the other ones. Mouse in a box. Another one for good measure. I want to say the cars kept moving through the station but I just don't remember. This is a picture of an un-gated exit, because Mexican theme park goers are much smarter and respectful of rules than Americans. The first Boomerang ever ever!!! This is my 2nd boomerang, after the one at KBF which was also painted the same way when I rode it. Boomerang and their S&S Combo Tower (?) Kilauea. Ha! Caught her! These balls have seen better days. There's a joke in there somewhere. That pyramid thing is over their Tivoli coaster. These green arrows are everywhere. They are emergency exit routes for earthquakes and no matter where you are standing, by law you have to be able to see one. Los Angeles is going to die in the next big earthquake. Uh oh, broken sign! But being Not Magic Mountain, this got fixed immediately. Woohoo! I finally made it out of the country!! I am so freakin happy!!!! We got to do Vampire Infestation for free. It's normally a 50 peso upcharge. It's a typical haunted walk-through with people yelling at you and what not. German themed Chinese food. The games area was fun and more affordable than Magic Mountain. I don't know why I took this picture. Probably because I was still in shock that I was at a Six Flags park that looked so nice. The tag says Six Flags Mexico. But obviously I had to take a picture. I'm a medium stateside but apparently a Mexican XL and I just can't do that to my ego. Dolphin Show...these are popular at theme parks. Really too bad there was no shade in the stadium. It was hot, so we did this. The crowd at Six Flags Mexico was all so happy and having so much fun. It really was like stepping back in time to a place where people still enjoyed themselves at theme parks. So this raft ride, like many others, teases you the whole way through, only getting some of you wet. At the end, it just goes right through a waterfall...oh, and it slows down to a CRAWL before you go through to ensure nobody gets off dry. SFMM -> Tear out the tree. SFM -> Figure out a way to keep the trees! This sign had us confused. We wanted the $15 locker and not the $350 one, but it turns out that there is no $350 locker and you pay the $15 after you are done renting. Whoops. People having fun waiting in line for the crooked house. We were in line for Boomerang and people were singing to pass the time. We saw this more than once. I'm not kidding when I say that everyone in the park was there to have a genuinely good time. Why KBF Why?!?!?!?! While it was nice to see a crooked house again, 95% of it was listening to this dude talk really fast. We understood nothing and just kind of huddled in the back praying that he wouldn't call us up and make us look really weird. He didn't. Woohoo! Beer was available everywhere, people were drinking, and still no jackassery. I think this was $90. Kilauea and theming. The brake run on Medusa as seen from the exit path. Yes, this officially licensed Six Flags shirt says 'TRASH.' Another 'wow this park kicks all kinds of ass' ambiance shot. Look how happy everybody is!!!! So I asked the lady behind the counter what 'Longaniza' is, and she comes around, holds my hand, and takes me to the kitchen area. She showed me the meat before it was cooked, then had somebody prepare some so I can see what it looked like done. Of course I ordered some and it was great! A lot like chorizo but larger chunks and...well, different. I grabbed some salsa and started eating, and the same lady looks over and sees that we didn't grab any jalapeno or seasoned carrots and got them for us. UNREAL service. Oh and by the way the food was really good! I found this little place about a half mile from the hotel the previous night and took some members over after Six Flags. I asked the concierge 'where would YOU eat' and this seemed to get me exactly what I wanted. I'm really not interested in tourist-oriented food and this was delicious. Next update is La Feria, which I'll post as soon as there is a page 2 to post to. So please COMMENT!
