  2. That's swiss cheese. Seems to confirm a new giga from everyone's favorite swiss designers.

  3. Or perhaps with maintenance schedules, they had to pull the 2nd train for rehab. They completely disassemble them each off season, and with only a 3 month off season now, I guess they have to pick between 1 train in the winter when there is low attendance, or 1 train in the spring with much higher attendance.

  4. Nah, there's more to it than that. The four large holes are for the height, one per 100 feet, so we're looking at a Strata. The 7 medium holes indicate 7 inversions. The 15 small holes mean it'll have 15 moments of airtime. And of course, the plain white background means that it'll be a flyer. (sarcasm, of course)

  5. Hey everyone! Monthly update time. November was a step in the right direction for me. The first half of the month was not good, I kept eating bad. The second half I snapped out of it and cut the fast food. From the first day of the month to the last day of the month I was about the same weight, but I ended the month about 7 pounds lighter than the heaviest weight I recorded in the month, so I am proud of that! Exercise went really well. I closed all my rings each day and I currently have a 249 day streak, I averaged 11,088 steps, 79 minutes and 1,199 cals. The beginning of December meant I was finally cleared from my broken wrist after 14 weeks. In the first 26 hours I was fully cleared I exercised for 292 minutes and burned 5,259 active calories. I set my record for most active calories burned in a single day since I got my watch last spring with 3,693 cals! Has anyone heard of Marcus Leshock? He is a news anchor/reporter on Chicago's WGN 9 news. More relatable to us, he is a roller coaster enthusiast! He gets to talk about it on the news. Anyways, him and his wife put out a "100 Day Challenge", and I would recommend looking into joining them. Why wait until the New Year to change? There is no better time than the present! I am finalizing my goals, and I will be starting within the week. A quick google search "Marcus Leshock 100 day challenge" will take you to his website where he has more information on it!

  6. In recent years there were rumors of a possible Taron-style Intamin coaster @Phantasialand (Blitz coaster) for Parque Warner, using the old simulator building and passing through various areas of the park. With the new shareholders of the Parques Reunidos group, this rumor gained more force, but it was still a rumor. In the last few months there has been a lot of news. On 10/18/21, the official document of the agenda of the City Council of San Martín de la Vega (town where the park is located) and in the matters of the call was found: "application for a license or urban authorization - major work license for the implementation of a roller coaster activity in Parque Warner " With this, the rumor becames "official". Rumors started about where the coaster could go: They started with marks on the ground. Trees have been cut down in Gotham Park (near La Venganza del Enigma drop tower) where the Halloween passage "La llorona" was located in recent years (film "The curse of La llorona"). The back of the simulator building has been demolished: Between La Venganza del Enigma drop tower and Scooby Doo dark ride, what look like supports for footers, ditches, and pipes have appeared. In this last weekend the old queues of La Venganza del Enigma, that were not used because they were for great attendance Old queues: The Batman logo has been removed from the simulator, topographic landmarks have appeared, and the rear of the simulator has been further demolished Comparison of the topographic landmarks of Parque Warner and those used in other constructions. There are already 4 in the park: entrance of the simulator building, next to the simulator queues, next to Scooy Doo and behind the scenes of the Batman stunt show. Supposedly it should using the simulator building, the rear and the Gotham Park part. All rumors. Photos of: LaMarDeParques forum

  7. All done. Not much change, given that I haven't been on too many coasters since 2019. I feel like if I ever get on a bunch of this stuff again, I'd shake up the top 15 or 20 more significantly, but for now I'll just leave it where I've got it. Velocicoaster debuts at #11, with a trio of ridiculous European coasters just keeping it out of the top 10. And Millennium Force remains my #1 sentimental favorite all-timer and it's never getting knocked off that spot because I'm not even trying to be objective. https://coasterpoll.com/u/thegreatzo/rankings?shared

  8. The main issue with Lighting Rod now is that they are only using one train at all times and load times are extremely slow causing very long wait times. This coaster was designed to run with two trains so one can load while the other is on the track and without the second train running, the wait times are doubled. The ride is too short and not that great to wait 2 plus hours for.

  11. I cannot with this thread. I know it does suck that LR continues to be a problem for them but hopefully the steel re-tracking of the rest of the coaster will do the trick. IMO it's the best RMC creation by far (I'm only missing Hakugei and Wildfire) and I think it's pretty cynical to wish they'd just give up and rip it out. I'd literally rather have a LR that only operates 3 days out of the year in that spot than another soul-less B&M hyper I could fall asleep on. Luckily for the optimists, the park doesn't care what the cynics think and they continue to work on it. It may require some more iteration because that's just how the design process can be sometimes. Also somehow we've been lucky 7 out of 8 visits to the park since LR opened and been able to get pretty much as many rides as we've wanted. Last spring we were there for two days and got at least 30 rides on it. It was running great, didn't break down at all the two days we were there, and downtime according to Queue Times doesn't look to be *that* bad as some people make it out to be. I mean yeah, it sucks when you visit the park and it's down. i305 was down when we went to KD this year and that was a bummer. But I think it's really weird to be one of the people who are like "I'm not planning a visit until LR works all day, every day" because most of the time it does. Also, Dollywood is still awesome if LR is down. I've had better luck with LR's uptime than Millennium Force the past 5 years.

  12. No one was hurt. They'll rebuild, no worries on that. These were very old buildings, and had the charm of the park from its first couple of decades, so that's a loss. They'll likely rebuild in their new style, which is fine but not the same.
