Recently in Italy there has been lots of rumors about amusement parks that were going to be built everywhere that ended up being only rumors. Finally one of them is being built for real.

The name for this park is Terra dei Giganti which means Land of the Giants. It's going to open in 2009 and it's going to feature an Intamin Rocket coaster, a Disk'o and a Free Fall tower by Zamperla and other rides.

The costruction is proceeding pretty fast, in fact the track for the Intamin coaster is already complete and a train is already on site.

Here some pics:

A close up of the train.

I want to thank Uriel (theparks.it user) for the pictures.

I'll post here more photos and updates as soon as I'll get them!

There's already a train in place but the launch system is still missing.

It looks pretty good!

This looks like some kind of top hat. Hopefully it will be taken fast enough to have some airtime there.

It's going to feature a Desert Race kind of layout with some changes.

Here's the first view of the new coaster.

The park is being built in a city called Molfetta which is in the southern part of Italy.

Wow, that looks like a fun little park. I don't know much about parks in Italy, but it looks like it will be a good one. And if it has a rocket coaster, it has to be good!

Isn't there already a topic on it. (not trying to be a backseat moderator)

It actually looks better than I thought it would. Certainley looks like good fun.

won't trains that small be kind of a capacity nightmare? especially on a launch coaster where there usually aren't that many trains.

I am guessing the shorter train length has something to do with the design / speed of the ride - but then being a smaller park I imagine it would be OK.

To compare Speed Monster at TusenFryd has only three cars per train and Kanonen at the rather well attended Liseberg still only uses four cars.

Whats that spirally thing. Is that a water slide thing, a water coaster, or a log flume. BTW Disco's are not generally considered to be roller coasters unless you are like Eric Johnson

It's some sort of river rapids thingy...

Well, it has the same round boats at least...

It looks like the one at prater, and if that's the case, it's going to have an elevator lift, some cool helices, where the boat spins insanely, and a cool dip at the end, where everyone usually gets wet...

This looks like a really awesome park with fun rides and superb theming!

Congratulations.

Or you happen to be in the marketing department at Kings Island.
