The Bebes
THURSDAY August 9, 2012 & FRIDAY August 10, 2012 Road Trip to WHERE???? Part 4 We got up early and headed out to our next destination. Where could we be going today??? Deep, deep into the heart of the redwood forest lies a mysterious spot known as..... Mystery Spot Mysterious gravitational vortex in progress 17 degrees!!!! Hangin' Tough After the tour, they give you a bumper sticker. Some people prefer to place theirs on some other poor bastards car in the parking lot. We decided to travel PCH 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) all the way to our next destination, and then all the way home! It was incredibly foggy along the coast for quite some time between Santa Cruz and Monterey We stopped in Carmel briefly and grabbed a small sandwich to snack on. We didn't want to spoil our dinner! Our view from the road [[sHORT SLIDESHOW]] The terrain would shift from rolling hills.... to forests... to mountain cliffs and beaches [[sHORT SLIDESHOW]] We made a wildlife pitstop along the coast where we saw Birds, Otters, and Seals Pacific seagull Seals!!! (mostly Elephant seals) [[sHORT SLIDESHOW]] Hearst Castle. This would be as close as we would get. our overnight destination in San Luis Obispo The Madonna Inn. An over-the-top motor lodge resort where every room is decorated uniquely, from the elegant to the whimsical. The registration building The restaurants, bars, and shops building Our building Lady Bebe heads for our room Our unique room is on the right. It is called LUCKY ROCK. We had a chance to see the neighbor's room where the bathroom plumbing was configured to look like an old-time moonshine still. AWESOME! LUCKY ROCK - The glorious green, gold, animal print and rock room that we stayed in!!!! The LUCKY couch! The LUCKY Bathroom vanity. The whole bathroom was built with LUCKY rocks and included a LUCKY rock shower. The pool area. Heated pool and two Jacuzzis. There was also a gazebo and waterfall (not pictured) as well as the fitness room and Day Spa in this area. We would later go in the pool and hot tub after dark. But first.... Dinner in The Steakhouse!!!! Wonderfully gaudy! The food was good, but probably not worth the high cost. But, of course, we paid for ambiance. After dinner we sat in the smoking room and had cigars and brandy (not really), then we hit the hot tub before going to bed. In the morning we went to the Cafe for breakfast Pink is quite prominent EVERYWHERE at the Madonna Inn. That's my yummy Black Forest cake in the pink bag. Thanks to cfc Chuck for suggesting it!!!! And then it was Farewell to Lucky Rock and the Madonna Inn! We scoped out our next route We passed through Pismo beach Next up... Our last stop of Duck Hunt 2: Bay Area Road Trip --- Pea Soup Andersen's in Buellton. Hap-Pea and Pea-Wee split peas for the soup Pea Soup Andersen's is very proud to have restrooms since 1924 Mr Bebe ordered a corned beef rueben with potato salad and an add-on of Split Pea Soup and an extra-thick chocolate milkshake (YUMMMMMM!!!) and Lady Bebe got the Half Tuna Sandwich and Cup of Split Pea Soup. There is an option for extras for your pea soup for $2.50 which includes things like cheese, bacon, croutons, ham and scallions. I would suggest any newbie to Pea Soup Andersen's should get the extras!!!! We took our leftovers and headed home.... ...where two very lonely ladies were super excited to see their mommy!!! Margo kissed Lady Bebe all over!!!! And Lola copped a feel!!!!! DuckHunt2:BayAreaRoadTrip stats: 5 days, over 1000 miles, 9 parks, 3 new credits, 3 missed credits, a sh!t ton of pizza, 36 animal butts, 1 ride refusal, and 5 new ducks (that's 11 total!!!). THE END. Coming Soon!!!!!

The Bebes
SUNDAY June, 10, 2012 Coasting for Kids Marathon event at Knott's Theme Park Benefit for Give Kids the World Village   The charity event at Knott's to benefit Give Kids the World Village was a wonderful experience. We (everybody involved) were able to raise a lot of money to help bring some happiness to terminally ill children.  Kara, representing the Village, was enthusiastic and grateful. Jennifer and the rest of the Knott's staff were exceptional and put on a great event. There were some nice surprises like fresh baked cookies for lunch, and they were available until the end of the event. And Jennifer even personally brought bottled waters to the loading station. We were able to keep our personal belongings in the ride op station. Class Acts!!!  DISCLAIMER: The following Photo Trip Report, Round n Round, is a work of fiction based on the premise of riding the same coaster over and over and over. In no way should any portion of the report be viewed as a negative connotation regarding the Coasting for Kids event, Give Kids the World Village, Knott's Theme Park, or Theme Park Review. Enjoy!!!! "It's like Groundhog Day meets Jurassic Park" Round n Round - another EPIC trip report by The Bebes 4:30am: The alarm clock erupts with the sounds of Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe". Ugg. It's waaaay too early to be getting up. I stumble from bed and peered outside. Dark as night. Desolate, except for that strange old man vacuuming the sidewalk. 5:19am: We're running late, as usual, & it's still fairly dark out as we leave the house. SuperShawn texts to tell us he's waiting outside his apartment to be picked up. I text him back that we're close, but we weren't. We pack SuperShawn into the back seat and head off to Knott's to go Coasting for Kids. The freeways are empty and soon we are at Knott's. Jennifer takes roll call and gives us all the low-down about how the event will work. Then, she guides us in! Slyly, SuperShawn nabs a Big Mike hidden Ducky as we enter the park Lady Bebe snatches a yogurt from the nice breakfast spread We pose with Mayor Clayton of Give Kids the World Village Soon, we're ready to board the train and start this party! David and SuperShawn take their first lap together, while Shawn Coomer, Lady Bebe, and Bruce ride solo After a few laps, our super duper green Coasting for Kids T-shirts are delivered to the station David approves! And then it's Round n Round n Round we go, the same thing repeating over and over and over again Although, there was a mandatory 1hr lunch break in the middle And then it was Round n Round we go AGAIN for another 5 hours Afterward, they awarded prize baskets to the top 3 fund-raisers. Supershawn got the third place basket After the event, the Bebes and SuperShawn head to the Robot Warehouse for a little post-marathon partying with David and Spears. We all get very inebriated and David lets SuperShawn put makeup all over him The last thing I remember seeing is David's make-up covered face, then I PASS OUT COLD! 4:30am: The alarm clock erupts with the sounds of Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe". Wha?? That's odd. I take a peek outside. Deja Vu! Dark and desolate except for that strange old man with a vacuum. Wha?? Am I dreaming? Or, was yesterday all a premonition? I check my phone. June 10, Coasting for Kids Day. SuperShawn texts to tell us he's waiting outside, so we gather our stuff, pickup SuperShawn and head to Knott's...again The freeways are still empty and soon we are at Knott's Jennifer takes roll call and gives us all the low-down about how the event will work, exactly as she described in my dream. Then, she guides us in! Slyly, SuperShawn nabs a Big Mike hidden Ducky as we enter the park, just like the dream. We pose with Mayor Clayton, just like the dream Soon, we are ready to board the train. David and SuperShawn take the first lap together, while Shawn Coomer, Lady Bebe, and Bruce ride solo, again, just like our dream. After a few laps, our super duper green Coasting for Kids T-shirts are delivered to the station. David still approves! And then it's Round n Round n Round we go, the same thing repeating over and over and over again, just like the dream And just like the dream, there was a mandatory 1hr lunch break in the middle And then it was Round n Round we go AGAIN for another 5 hours. So who would win the third place gift basket? SuperShawn of course. JUST like in the dream. As predicted, the Bebes and SuperShawn head to the Robot Warehouse for a little post-marathon partying. And, just like the dream, we all get wayyy too drunk and I PASS OUT COLD 4:30am: The alarm clock erupts with the sounds of Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe". WTF???!!!! I stumble from bed and peered outside. Dark as night. Desolate, except for that strange old man with a vacuum. WTF???!!! SuperShawn texts that he's waiting outside his apartment. June 10, Coasting for Kids Day. WTF???!!! We pack SuperShawn into the back seat and soon we're at Knott's Jennifer gives us the low-down, then guides us in, where SuperShawn slyly nabs a Big Mike hidden ducky. Duh! We pose with Mayor Clayton Soon, we are ready to board the train. David and SuperShawn take the first lap together, while Shawn Coomer and Bruce ride solo. This time, the Bebes take their first lap together. Maybe That will be the change to break the cycle. And then it's Round n Round n Round we go, the same thing repeating over and over and over again. We've done this for over 30 hours now over the past three non-existent days, with no end in sight. SuperShawn wins his basket. What a shocker! NOT! And then we're of to the Robot Warehouse, where I get so flippin' wasted that I PASS OUT COLD! 4:30am: The alarm clock erupts with the sounds of Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe". June 10, Coasting for Kids Day. WE'RE IN HELL!!!!! SuperShawn texts us that he's waiting outside his apartment. No Sh!t. We pack him into the backseat and head to Knott's. Will it ever end? Soon we were there. Jennifer gives us the low-down, then guides us in. We pose with Mayor Clayton We board the train and David rides with SuperShawn Round n Round n Round we go, over and over and over again Shawn wins a basket Afterward, we go to the Robot Warehouse. EXCEPT....... This time, I DO NOT get drunk and pass out. I'm sober, and I'm going to sleep right here on this air mattress, at the Robot Warehouse. When I wake up, I'll be right here, on this air mattress, at The Robot Warehouse 4:30am: The alarm clock erupts with the sounds of Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe". NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Something's gotta give. I text SuperShawn that we're on our way before he's even awake. We pack him in the back seat and head to Knott's, where Jennifer gives us the low-down and guides us in Round n Round n Round, over n over n over Perhaps the key to breaking this spell is buying a Knott's Famous Boysenberry Punch... Fingers crossed And... "So sorry David, but we are NOT gonna party at The Robot Warehouse tonight". We go home, make love, and crash in our OWN bed. 4:30am: The alarm clock erupts with the sounds of Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe". SuperShawn texts us that he's waiting. Time for drastic measures. We hit the road WITHOUT SuperShawn, and we're way ahead of schedule And we're eating breakfast while we drive With all of our extra time, we're able to stop for a Starbucks, and we're still there quite early Jennifer gives us the low-down, then guides us in Slyly, Lady Bebe nabs a Big Mike hidden ducky We pose with Mayor Clayton Soon, it's time to board the train Like everyone else, David rides alone! After a few laps, our shirts are delivered. There's one left over. Sorry Shawn. And, like many times before, it's Round n Round n Round we go, over and over and over again... ...with a short lunch break in the middle In SuperShawn's absence, David wins the third place prize basket We head to The Robot Warehouse where Spears makes us drinks and bakes us vegan cookies Feeling great about the day, we fall asleep on our air mattress at The Robot Warehouse 4:30am: The alarm clock erupts with the sounds of Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe". I check my phone. June 10, Coasting for Kids day. Efff THAT! We stuff SuperShawn into the back seat and hit the road with a new plan Mr Bebe gives us the low-down... ...and guides us in MEANWHILE, at Knott's : David nabs the Big Mike hidden ducky! Soon, we're ready to board our first ride: Jagu.... errrr... Journey to Atlantis We watch animals We watch acrobats We watch actors SuperShawn is having a blast!!!! And then we ride Jagu...errrr... MANTA over and over and over and over again, because it is an awesomely fun, super-comfortable, very re-ridable rollercoaster Afterward, we head north to The Robot Warehouse, where Spears makes us drinks and bakes us vegan cookies. We all get really drunk. The last thing I remember seeing is David's make-up covered face... then I PASS OUT COLD! I hear music.... Is it Sonny and Cher? I slowly open my eyes. IT'S DAVID!!! Singing Mr. Brightside by The Killers!!!!! I check my phone... June 11. It worked!!!! Oh, Manta.... I love you!!!!!!! Then, the earth rumbled. Boom....Boom....Boom.....Boom.... The End...??? Big Mike
Always a pleasure reading these!! Top of the line production as always!   Full of wins with LOTS of Big Mike shout outs, the vision of Lady Bebe making love, and David picking a great song in Mr. Brightside to sing..... as well as seeing a whole bunch of cool people that I know at the event, and seeing Spears is always an absolute delight!   Best of all though, Mr. Bebe's genious wit and ability to put together these masterpieces!!!   With the slight excepton that you could not find a way to insert that magnificent Lady Bebe bikini photo she posted on Facebook the other day somehow into the story, this was almost perfect   Thanks for the great laughs, but most of all, thanks for the great friendship! Hope to see that whole wonderful gang again very soon!   Peace, Big Mike

darklingscribe
Wow, reading this trip report was a great way to start the day. timfar
Is there a story explaining why David and Spears call their place "the Robot Warehouse"? Â Another great TR, BTW. I love Danielle's increasingly frustrated expressions and how David has the same goofy one with or without SuperShawn. Â I've really got to hand it to you guys for doing the Coasting for Kids thing. On Jaguar. Jaguar, the perfect blend of pointlessness and uncomfortable seating. I would have shot myself in the head 15 minutes into the first day. Sir Clinksalot
Brilliant!!! Â Also fitting that there were 420 views when I was reading it. I think it made it a little easier. The Bebes
OMG Mr. Bebes, that was effin fantastic! But one question.... you only made love once?.....lol  Well, only once that was mentioned in the trip report!!!  Thanks for the great laughs, but most of all, thanks for the great friendship! Hope to see that whole wonderful gang again very soon!  Awwww shucks, Big Mike!!!!! You're the awesomest!!!!  Is there a story explaining why David and Spears call their place "the Robot Warehouse"? Jaguar, the perfect blend of pointlessness and uncomfortable seating. I would have shot myself in the head 15 minutes into the first day.  Perhaps David will explain The Robot Warehouse, perhaps not. I'm just sorta upset that no robots made it into the trip report!!!!  And, Tim, you couldn't sum up Jaguar any better. My butt was killing after about 4 rides. Luckily, if you sat alone, there was enough room to find a more comfortable position.  We should do it again next year!!!  MAYBE.  Wow, reading this trip report was a great way to start the day...and really broke me out of my funk.  These trip reports take SOOO long to put together I ask myself "WHY DO I DO IT?" Escpecially this one, with it's repetitive nature (99 photos trimmed down from 115 in the original draft; I usually cap a report at 50 photos). But, comments like darklingscribe's make it all sooooo worthwhile!!!!! Glad we could help bring smiles!!!!
ILoveRides
That was hilarious Bebes! Seriously well done! I was laughing through the whole report. So many random memories and inside jokes in there too! I loved it! Â Oh, and I never should've posted those makeup pictures!!! Â If it clears up some confusion - The Bebes wanted to make this a Groundhog Day themed trip report, which made sense, considering the repetitive nature of the Coasting For Kids event. But I said it was too predictable and that it had to be Jurassic Park themed and have dinosaurs. The rest is history! (But I still want more dinosaurs!) Â You have left me with a lot of questions though Bebes... Who vacuums the sidewalk? What is this Theme Park Retreat I hear about? And what happened to my dinosaur hat pic sequence from Universal? I feel like there could be an entire part 2 of this TR that gives us these valuable bits of information. Â Anyhow, amazing TR (as always), it was great hanging out with you guys (as always), and we can't wait til we see you guys again (as always)!!! Perhaps David will explain The Robot Warehouse, perhaps not. I'm just sorta upset that no robots made it into the trip report!!!! Â Tim - there is a story, but it's sort of boring and long and convoluted, so I'm not going to post it. But feel free to ask me in person! Â Bebe - next time, robots! Â We should do it again next year!!! Â MAYBE. Â I agree with Bebe! The event was a blast, and it raised a ton of money for an awesome cause, but I must say... I hurt for days and had bruises that lasted for weeks. We'll see! Â These trip reports take SOOO long to put together I ask myself "WHY DO I DO IT?" Â You do it because you're Commander Bebe. Captain Bebe Mc. Bebington! It's your sworn duty. And you will continue to do it or else you will be demoted from Bebe to Beh.
