pcw guy
I will be going to marineland this summer so I have been checking out their website. They have been making some radical claims about their rides that I want to know. First of all, Skyscreamer according to them is the tallest in the world of this kind of ride. Is this true? and second, According to the marineland website Dragon Mountain , is the largest steel roller coaster in the world. Is this also true??? Ps I will be sure to make a photo trip report
YoshiFan
The drop tower is on top of some mountain, so the top of the tower is the tallest but the actual tower itself is not the tallest drop ride.
vjgx
Both of those are untrue. They may have been true when the rides were opened, so they're probably trying to look all cool by boasting about previous record-holdings. I've seen a POV of Dragon Mountain and it's basically a lame terrain-coaster with a couple of loops, and not much speed.
zburns999
^How about you ride it before you judge it. I thought Dragon Mountain was pretty cool, a bit rough, but nonetheless, a fun (not stupid) terrain coaster. I think by largest they mean that it takes up the most square acres than any other coaster, which could be true. It's a damn big ride, I'll say that. pcw guy
yeah they say it takes up over 30 acres
trustkill22
Im going there this summer so I will check out those 2 rides too.
mightypotato
I think the SkyScreamer is the world's tallest "triple tower" drop ride...or something like that. I remember when it opened, it had some really obscure record title. Dragon Mountain, while may look boring is actually a fairly fun ride. The last time I went to Marineland, there was next to no line, so my sister and I rode it for a solid 30-45 minutes. Good times.
trustkill22
Alright so that makes me happy thats its going to pay off going with my dads company. I love the way any park will try to get a rep with one of their rides having some stupid record.

ECZenith
I went to Marineland two years ago and I thought Dragon Mountain was great. SUCH a long ride, cool tunnels, just overall very unique. The park has some nice flat rides too, including a Huss Magic.
Eunuch Provocateur
For about 10 seconds I thought you were talking about Ontario, California. And I was all, That's called Scandia!
coasterbilly
this park has so much potential, i know they consider it more of an animal park, but they have SO MUCH ROOM! Man they could fit lots of rides and coasters in there, but i don't think that's what they're going for. These 2 rides are awesome, on Sky Screamer you go up and down, make sure you sit facing Niagara Falls because you can see the top of the falls from up there, and Dragon Mountain is my favorite arrow looper, so unique and lots of fun
rollocoast
I always thought Dragon Mountain was a fun ride. Sure it's not the best thing ever, but I like it more than most Arrow loopers. The thing that gets me going is the theming... Could you imagine if they would've actually completed everything? Man, it'd be WILD!
trustkill22
There was a thread on here a little while ago and someone was saying that they are finishing majority of the themeing including the helix of nothing.
shesaidboom
Didn't someone post a thread a while ago saying Marineland was getting a Walrus themed topple tower? I see no topple tower.
shesaidboom
On their website there are a couple new kiddie rides listed and something called "Viking Adventure". Is that the topple tower? In future plans it just lists a bunch of aquarium stuff.
pcw guy
someone told me once that you have to pay for each ride that you do is this true or do you only have to pay for admission and the rides are free?
mightypotato
someone told me once that you have to pay for each ride that you do is this true or do you only have to pay for admission and the rides are free? The last time I was there, it was pay one price. I'm only assuming this hasn't changed.
Jon Sabo
Has the "mountain" on DM been enclosed yet? I haven't seen any recent pics, but would assume it must have been completed by now...(?) *Edit: If so, anyone have current pics of the completion>? Thanx! HCOSurfer90
I wonder if there's a POV of this ride floating around anywhere.
HCOSurfer90
^Hey it's better than no volcano at all!
shesaidboom
And the admission is for entrance only Are you sure? On their website it says the $37.95 [CDN] admission price gives you access to everything...and every time I've been there, although it's been a while, it has covered everything. The volcano doesn't even look like a volcano
