Today's The Day for Celebrating Mexico!

I'm ahead of myself an hour or so. But that's okay. Mom would understand.

This avatar will be done in two parts, today.

 

Part One is the annual Italian Day on our main shopping street, Commercial Drive.

Hence, "On The Drive" The city's nickname for it, truth! We live two blocks

away from it, just enough distance when this street becomes Car Free at noon,

and stays that way until 8 pm PST.

 

The area is a looney bin of cars trying to find parking, and a pizza place (no reservations taken)

across from us, that attracts CROWDS of families and everybody else. Very noisy, with cigarette butts, too.

 

And we keep our cat Stella, indoors for the day. Too many people out to freak her out, and a lot of them

walking their dogs too, though all are on leashes. But we play it safe with her.

And then, we move on to Part Two of today...

.... it's TONY Night! The Antoinette Perry Awards are on tv this evening, from New York.

Root for your fave play and/or musical that you've seen, and/or know about. Like me.

Playland in Vancouver is now open daily!

Though Mon-Friday it's only 10am to 3pm.

Not a lot of time there. But a lot of groups and

organization send groups/MOBS of kids to the park

during those time periods. It's very very noisy at times.

 

So, be forewarned if you visit on a week day.

It's a shot of the Bayside Station, for the Tokyo Disney Monorail system, that encircles the

Tokyo Disney Resort property. This station is nearly opposite a fave hotel of ours, and TPR's...

...the Tokyo Bay Hilton. Awesome hotel!

Today, we're throwing our annual hot tub, potluck party, from the afternoon, on...

 

So, today of all days, it's supposed to RAIN. I'm watching the skies, but so far,

no drips or drops to be seen...or felt, lol.

 

So, whatever happens, and whoever shows up (or not) I am planning to drink myself

into a happy space, and the next morning (that's tomorrow) I will pay for it. What. Ever.

 

So this avatar is really for tomorrow. But I "might forget" to post it, heh heh.

Tokyo Disney is building all that new part of DisneySea, which should fit all

behind this shot of the Bayside Station.

 

This is already a rare shot, with nothing behind the station but parking lot. For now.
