gmoney422 Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Kinda dissappointing PTR. IMO, no PTR is complete without some grinning Elissa pics. They make me smile BTW, where was Wonder Woman during the superhero pic...?
sixflagsmagicmountain Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 ^^I didn't feel like riding X yesterday, but judging from how empty the park was, I'd say it was really short. I got on everything but X, I just didn't feel like riding it for some reason.
runnerodb83 Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Thanks for clearing that up, that is crazy though, just to throw it in the car park, whats even worse is, like you say, its a good ride, it certainly looks like a good ride and not exactly cheap in itself but its surroundings do, easily ruin most good Coasters by sticking them in a car park. The best bit is they didnt even remove the lines from the parking lot to show you where to park, how difficult and expensive could that be to do, made not attempt to cover up its in a parking lot. Maybe now its got new managment they may attempt a theme for it, atleast remove the painted lines on the ground. I thought something must be up because why make Tatsu and the effort and expense that required when one of there Coasters is parked next to your car for theming. The funny thing about the parking lot lines is that a few years back an employee's head was decapitated by a train during a morning testing run (how the person didnt hear the train i dont know)...actually theres nothing funny about that, its really quite sad and i apologize to everyone. however, MM just put some white bleach down on the pavement to clean up the 'stains'. those who have been will always recognize the big white patch below the helix. quite embarassing really.
PURE Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 ^Actually your wrong...that "bleach tale" was a rumor going around that's not exactly true...check your facts, pal...the stain was there before the incident. I love how you act like your sympathetic, then you talk sh*t in the same line...no wonder I typically avoid people like you.

UberBeavis Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Magic Mountain has had at least one parking lot coaster since Colossus was built in 1977 - prior to the park even being a Six Flags park.
wrs28330 Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Robb, to answer your question on how long we have been doing the opening ceremony 45th anneversary celebration: We have been doing it for just over a month now. The pictures you have are of Allison and Travis. Allison does it all the time with me, but Travis filled in for me that day. Let me know when you guys are comming to the park next, we give away 30 free brunch w/bugs coupons per day. So if you guys are comming go to the lifeguard tower outside in the gates at 9:30 and just say you are from TPR. I'll ask you a few trivia q's that i'm sure you'll know, then i may be able to give you guys some passes. The morning show has been getting some great feedback. Between everyone being able to meet the characters even before you get into the park, and having the Host and Hostess telling the guests about park happenings, it seems to get people slightly into the celebration atmosphere. Bruch w/ bugs will be getting an actual show in about 2 weeks. Right now it is just a meet and greet w/ a buffet. But it will be similar to a show like Billy Hill and the Hillbillies at Disneyland. And on another note, the Batman Begins Stunt show will be reopening on memorial day weekend, rehersals for it start on May 1st.
J man Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Our first ride of the day! Creepy unicycle mime guy with a fancy umbrella! Isn't that the mime that used to be at Disneyland in New Orleans Square?
Blue0ctane Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Since when did they start doing a little pre-park opening show??? I saw them do this in January of 2004.
waterviper Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Lmao!! When I first saw the pic of all the super heros I thought green lantern was a girl!! Wow another runner up for the Taylor Hanson mixup!!
Freefallbestrideever Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 LMAO I love how the same Batman guy is always trying to be serious, but it still doesn't work those were some pretty sweet lines, I should be going this week with my bro so I hope to see the same thing I haven't been on X in over 5 months so i'm going through withdrawel symptoms....
live2tell75 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Hi guys! Here are my first set of trip pics from SFMM. On my way home I had a lay over in Minneapolis so I went to the Mall of America and got the two credits. Enjoy! -Eric J (the other eric johnson) A rain-soaked entrance plaza and Viper. I met some new friends. I can't believe I am at Wally World! Once I arrived to LAX, I headed straight for SFMM. It took about 45 minutes around 3:00 pm Not bad for a rental!
ParkTrips Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 AWESOME! I'm glad you made it back and that the layover wasn't a total loss - that's cool that the logistics of it worked out so well, looking forward to more pics 8)
live2tell75 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 More Photos: X, you were great! I love you X! Right before getting my X-cherry popped! Isn't X beautiful! Little did I know what was in store for me! One of my new favorite coasters-X!
live2tell75 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Even more photos: Scream! was fun, but my favorite floorless is Kraken at Sea World Orlando. Ridler's Revenge, my new favorite stand up. Superman was fun. We only had to wait 2 trains for the front row. The things that Robb goes through to get the TPR reports! I think Robb likes Goliath too. My other favorite coaster in the park, Goliath!
live2tell75 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 More Photos: That concludes my SFMM trip update. I had a great time, I'm sure all of you going to the Tatsu Camp Out will have a blast! Have fun! At the super-secret-underground Theme Park Review Headquarters control center with Robb and Joe. Elissa met up with us for dinner at In & Out Burger. Tatsu- I will conquer you in the future! Colossus was a lot of fun! I am actually on the Wally World Coaster! Racing Joe! Jet Stream and Ninja. And here's Joe. Here I am. Cool float. I have been told this parade at SFMM is a big deal.
live2tell75 Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Does anyone know how soon Revolution is going to open after Tatsu opens?
live2tell75 Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Also, along with Revolution, when is the Sky Tower and Orient Express expected to re-open?
SharkTums Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Rumors are that Revolution and Sky Tower will open VERY soon after Tatsu, if not for opening itself. Orient will take much longer to get back open.
DRACHEN_FIRE_FAN-BOY Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 ^^I didn't feel like riding X yesterday, but judging from how empty the park was, I'd say it was really short. I got on everything but X, I just didn't feel like riding it for some reason. DUDE!!!!!! WTF!?!?!? you don't feel like not riding X, you love it *hypnotises you* you want to ride X, you want to ride X................... Just kidding, but how did you resist it's powers?

WTF!?!?!? you don't feel like not riding X, you love it *hypnotises you* you want to ride X, you want to ride X................... Just kidding, but how did you resist it's powers? Ride X 8+ times, and you don't have that need anymore. Sometimes you feel like running/waiting for it, sometimes you don't.
live2tell75 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 X in the morning was only a 3 train wait for the front. At the end of the day Joe and I rode twice with less than a five minute wait each time, they had 2 trains running!. Actually all the coasters were walk on. Sometimes only 25% full! When I visit in the future, I will definitely come back this time of year, after Easter/Spring Break and before Memorial Day, the park was empty! --Eric J
