momo1tx Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I was looking through your galleries, and noticed you didn't have any pictures of this park. Have you ever been there? I went by it this weekend and it looked like a nice place to visit, with plenty of rides and a nice setting.
Carnage Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I'm planning on going there this summer. From what I've read La Ronde has a repuation as one of the worst run Six Flags parks. Rude/slow staff, one train ops even in the middle of summer, slow capacity, etc. I'm hoping it exceeds my expecations.
robbalvey Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 I was there opening year of Le Monstre (one side) but haven't been there since. --Robb

"What, you are unsatisfied? Quelle domage, mon dit Anglais!"
larrygator Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 I visited in September of 2004. I did not encounter any problem with rude staff but operations were slow. I really enjoyed their flats selection. The setting is nice and easy to get to via public transportation if you are staying in the city. If you have a SF season pass you will have to go the the window to the left of the turnstiles to show your pass and they will give you a paper ticket (that's a billet, if Barry H is reading). I plan on going back one weekend this summer once Goliath opens
exmouse Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 I have been there 3 times over the past 4 years and really like it. Sure the staff are rude and if you don't speak French then things can be tricky at times but it's still a nice park in an unusal setting almost under a bridge. On one occasion whilst riding Le Monstre they stopped the trains on the lift hill whilst they took 2 trains off the track. The problem was after we'd been sat there for half an hour with no announcements some people started to panic and climbed out the train to walk down the lift hill just as they started the chain again. The Vampire is one of the most intense B&M's I've ever been on and I almost greyed out on one go. I can recommend going during the Summer months when they are hosting the Firework Championships. The displays are absolutley superb, non stop in your face action. So it's worth visiting just don't expect the best cusomer service or the most efficient ride operations.
CycloneMan Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 I love La Ronde, we go every year! Le Monstre is the best!
307 Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I should be heading there this summer, hopefully it doesn't suck!
RBOrrell Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 You know, I only live 4 hours away. I really should come down there and try some real poutine and maybe get some smoked meat and a steamer and wash it all down with a Brador.
