crispy
Well, we made it to Cliff's, and almost met my first TPR member at Cliff's, oh well, I'll catch you next time coasterlover420 Anyway on to the day We arrived an hour after opening to find about 50 cars in the lot, nice and empty, which is nice, cause it provides walk on rides to the Rattler We first hit up the Log Ride, which is my Daughters favorite ride, that or the Water Slides. I ride once then Corina, its a fun little log ride, with a short drop, but My daughter LOVES it. After that we headed over to the water slides, I went once down the "green" slide, then Corina talked Mickey into going down the Black Slide, which is totally dark, and I have witnessed many chidren crying thier eyes out after that slide, but she did GREAT, but would not go on it again I then Abandoned my family and got two walk on Rides of the Rattler, WOW awesome, good airtime, and not to rough, although during the last helix, I did notice a bit of a rough patch, but to terribly bad After that we went to the Kiddie area, and saw a very you kid on the Frog Hopper, his sister would scream, then he would copy her, Mickey rode alot of the rides, and then we hit the Train, which is back working WOOHOO It looks great, like most rides in the park, it looks immaculate. This was the baby's first ride on anything, and he enjoyed, that and hitting his sister. Mickey and Corina went on a few more rides in the kiddie area, and I took the baby on the Merry-go-round, he was kinda eh about it, but it was kinda fun to put him on some rides, we then went on a kiddie truck ride with the baby, and after a bit of fussing, he seemed to enjoy it I then abandoned my family onace again for more Rattler rides we finished up with another green tube slide ride, then a last ride on the Log Ride ....anyway, on to the pics Picture 149.MOV finishing up with the second smallest coaster video ever, this one goes out to Wally, enjoy anyone need a job? Here is the Rock-o Plane-o, still looks perfect Actually he notices everything going by, and enjoys himself I tell him to have a good time OR ELSE! Little mans first real ride, and he's not so happy This is that cute kid, he was copy his siter, he actualy seemed somewhat indiffrent about the ride Corina and Mickey, spinning very fast The Kiddie area provides some great views of the Rattler They did a great job restoring the train Mickey is having fun, looking cool in her new shades, while her brother beats her Damn, got a good pic of the Rattler from the train Little mans first trip on the train, or anything for that matter HOLY CRAP, the train is working LOTS of Hair-time, and it still runs super fast, and never lets up, AWESOME!!! oh, the first drop, in the back, is awesome Abandonment, to ride THIS I left my family here, hey how the hell does thier grass look so good, ours still looks like ass Black Slide- more wet, totaly dark inside, freaky and a total blast Green slide, not dark, and fun The slides were great fun well, I got her arm to go with me Yes its a fair coaster, but its in great shape WOOHOO, down we go Yes honey, I brought the Camera Ahh the log ride....... prepare to do WHAT??!!! As you enter the very small park, its kinda hard not to notice the Rattler
DerekRx
Looks like a good day. I hope to get to Cliff's at some point soon as Rattler looks like a really good ride. Thanks for the photos!
Guy T. Koepp
Cool TR! Your kids are adorable! The weather looks beautiful there. How was your winter this year? I havn't been to Cliffs since I was at the College of Santa Fe. 15 years now. Wow! It dosn't seem that long. I never got to ride the Rattler as it wasn't built way back then. I get out to ABQ about once a year to visit my mom. Unfortunately, she lives in Ruidoso, and we usually visit in the winter as the kids love tha snow. If I do my gig in Colorado this summer, I'm hoping to get my client to fly me out of ABQ so I can drive my rental down there and ride it. I'll give you a hollar if I do. It would be cool to meet you. jamesdillaman
If you'd like to pick me up from the airport sometime, I'd be glad to spend the day at cliff's with you
YoshiFan
Nice photos, the log flume water looked really blue. They have those same slides at Dutch Wonderland and although I like the black slide, I try to avoid it because you get absolutely soaked on that side. crispy
I would pick you up at the Albuquerque Airport, its not really very busy, and not a very big deal, say like picking someone up at LAX as for the slides, yes you get more wet on the black one, but during the warm summer days, the line for the black slide is sometimes twice as long as the line for the Green Slide, but they are both fun
VegasCoaster
My girlfriend and I are making a giant road trip on the way back to my house from school and we were hoping to stop by Wonderland in Amarillo and Cliff's on the way to Vegas but Cliff's is only open on the weekends we go through NM, which will be a Friday. I really want to ride Rattler at some time, heard some good things.

SharkTums
Good to hear that Rattler is still running pretty good. Everyone go out and ride this coaster now! It's that good! Crispy, I'll just add in that your kids are adoreable...so what else do you have planned for them to get on this year??
coasterlover420
^The only thing that would stop this coaster is a giant thunderstorm! Other than that, it sometimes has lap bar malfunctions, but that's about it! That's the best thing about this coaster! And, yes, the Rattler IS that good! Hope to see ya next weekend, crispy! Well, I believe we are going to Santa Cruz, and so we may hit up the SCBB, and maybe PGA I may try to get to Denver to hit up the parks, and to watch a MLB game with the SF giants we really didn't plan a very big year this year, Corina wants to go back to school and get her degree, so we are actually cutting back on expenses thank GOD for the Rattler Coasterlover420, I'm not sure I'll make it this weekend, but maybe, i'll let you know. Guy T. Koepp
Is CLIFFS only open on weekends? Even during summer?
crispy
no just this month, during the summer i believe monday and tuesday they are closed, but open all the other days of the week Also, anyone who visits will be suprised at how tiny the park really is, but they have the basics, and everything is very well taken care of I talked to one of the employees, and I guess they are trying to buy out all the land around them, which is currently occupied by storage buildings, but those people don't want to sell, currently the park sits on only 15 acres
Guy T. Koepp
Yeah! It is surrounded by a bunch of U-store it kinda buildings. I remember that.
cfc
Cliff's reminds me a bit of Mickey's Grove outside of Lodi, California (only Mickey's didn't have any coasters, and I'm not sure it even exists anymore). If you're going to Santa Cruz, you might want to consider Bonfante Gardens in Gilroy. It's not too far from Santa Cruz, and it's a nice family park with one of the best car rides anywhere, I think. crispy
I lived in Santa Cruz almost my whole life moving to Albuquerque in 2004, , and I definatly been to Bonfante, I like it ok, and thinking about it now, with kids in the picture, it seems like a great idea, we will see

ZipityDoDog
Great TR. Kinda miss the Rattler, but I will soon have Tatsu. The only sad part was Cliff's owned most of that land years ago. This was when the parking lot and entrance faced San Mateo, and the Galaxi was at the southwest end of the park where Demolition Disco is now. I be visiting sometime in July and will have to stop by. They are trying to buy the Storage buildings, and they used to own the TacoBell lot, but sold that and got the entire parking lot PLUS the water park area, so it was a VERY good deal for them, now they just need to buy out the rest of the block If you do come down to ABQ, let me know, we can meet at Cliff's, then have some Carrabba's, LOL
