socalMAN123
UCLA was playing the worst basketball I've ever seen last night. The only person from UCLA that was playing OK was Farmer and he still sucked. ---Brent
spaceace12
Decided against making a new thread.... Anyway, I was watching the Syracuse/UConn game last night. Took 6 ot's to have a win. I really have no interest in NCAA Bball except that I work at a CBS station and next two weeks I have late newscasts on Thursday and Friday. We are scheduled to run our newscasts at midnight, but that hardly ever happens. One time we had a newscasts at 1am.
ebl
I'm actually surprised that this thread was inactive for three years, given the number of basketball fans---especially NCAA fans! Eric
Hercules
This is going to be a very interesting tournament. With the amount of upsets during the course of the regular season and now in March, I think we might see a couple lower seeds in the Final Four this year. dandaman
I watch maybe 5 minutes of basketball a year... but holy crap, 6 overtimes?! http://blogs.courant.com/uconn_mens_basketball/2009/03/uconnsyracuse-sixovertime-epic.html
spaceace12
Record is 7ot's. But in that 6th ot, uconn went cold. They were taking time between full court presses and half court because of the long game.

BeemerBoy
I'm detailing a Nissan XTerra next week, and there's a pesky bracket concerning the brush guard that's a real pain in the neck. It may need to be taken to the body shop first in order to remove it, and give me unimpeded access to the front bumper. That way I can refinish that plastic crap with no problem. Oh, the tournament brackets? I'm using the dartboard method this year. Seriously.
larrygator
I'm picking Memphis over Oklahoma in the final.
coolhandluke
I have Pitt over Louisville. But I have an uncomfortably small number of upsets after the second round thus far. I tend to take a risk, and then cut my losses just in case in the next round. I may just end up letting my 4-yr-old brother pick for me. The best bracket I've seen was done by a 4th grader at my old grade school I now work at. In the finals, he had "OSU (the Ohio one) OR Siena OR UConn OR Florida University vs. Syracuse". bigstevet07
^ I think this year there will be not many upsets, or the upsets will be out of control. This year is more of a toss up than any other year. I have a feeling that just about everyone's bracket is going to be busted. Basically I am throwing research out the door and going with who's mascot is toughest. So sorry UConn, a husky is just not going to cut it. I think I may take Akron, because a kangaroo can outbox anyone.
BeemerBoy
Chattanooga over UConn. You heard it here first.
bigstevet07
Based on heavy research of mascots, avoid these teams: Ohio State - a Buckeye is a nut (should have been in play-in game) Western Kentucky (Hilltoppers, what's tough about that) Cornell (Big Red, sure your breath will be fresh, but that's it) Maryland (Terrapins, turtles are too slow) Utah St and Texas A&M (Aggies, plenty of jokes out there about them) Utah (Utes, said best in My Cousin Vinny, what is a Ute?) Xavier (Musketeers, bringing a sword to a gun fight) E Tennesee St (Buccaneers, see Musketeers) Siena (Saints, doesn't get dirty enough) Cal St Northridge (Matadors, too busy avoiding contact) Dayton (Flyers, good in NHL only) Best 1st round matchup: Michigan Wolverines VS Clemson Tigers... unless its the Red Dawn Wolverines then they win by 50 Worst 1st round matchup: Siena Saints VS Ohio St... The Nut against the goodie too shoes My championship pick Wake Forest Demon Deacons VS Duke Blue Devils... Demons and Devils will do whatever it takes to win
BeemerBoy
^ LOL. Excellent research! Time to go change my brackets around.
Hercules
After 5 minutes of agony, deliberation, sweat and tears, I have completed my bracket. Final Four: Louisville, Memphis, Pitt, Syracuse Finals: Memphis over Pitt First round upset specials: Cleveland St. over Wake Utah St. over Marquette Minnesota over Texas Western Kentucky over Illinois Other lower seeds advancing that I don't consider upsets: Siena over Ohio State USC over Boston College Tennessee over Oklahoma St. Then I have second round upsets: West Viginia over Kansas USC over Michigan St. Utah St. over Missou Minnesota over Duke Western Kentucky over Gonzaga Clemson over Oklahoma I'm sure my bracket will be busted by about 8PM tomorrow. But there is always a little something called hope, and the fact that every year at this time I think I am the best basketball expert in the world, just to have my dreams come crashing down. BeemerBoy
My "dartboard" results: West Virginia over Butler in the finals. My "brief thought about each game" results: Louisville over Pitt in the finals. I like the dartboard picks.

YFWE
I'm picking Pitt to win it all over Kansas in the finals... definitely rooting for my hometown team Dayton as well!!
bigstevet07
In case you missed the play in game, it looks like picking the tougher mascot is the way to go. The Eagles of Morehead St defeated the Pesky Hornets of Alabama St. Eagles are definitely more dangerous than Hornets. I'm going to win the million this year. AllenA07
The Bruins pulled it out, but not before giving me a huge scare! I got called a UCLA bandwagon fan today... Is it possible to be an alumni and a bandwagon fan?
