bradcorben@yahoo.co.uk Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 when i was nine i went to epcot i got there so early that the poeple said that i could stand up in front of the crowed and say "Epcot is now open" I was so much fun> have any of you helped open a theme park?
Canobie Fan Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 If you mean just getting to a park before it opens.. Then yeah all the time... Like almost everytime I go to a park.... If you mean going to a park on its first day ever.. Then no.
SharkTums Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 That's funny you mention Epcot! Epcot is one of my favorite 'openings'! They bring out my rodents, all the rideops come out and talk to guests, it really impressed my family and I!
Erik Johnson Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Yeah the Epcot daily opening routine is very special. As well as both the Soarin and Test Track ride ops. They lead you back to their attractions. All the critters come out on the bus. And as Sharktums said, the rodents come out to greet her.
Nrthwnd Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I like the "Canada Flag placement" there in the pix, Erik.
iZak Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Everyday I opened at SFMM for three years. I thought this would be about opening a park for the first time...I didn't work the event (I was just a bit too young), but I was there when USF opened back in 1991.
DerekRx Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I've been at many parks for opening, though most of the time I don't care about the opening celebration, I just want to get to the rides! I opened up Derek's Garden Hose Kingdom back in 2001 and its been a success ever since, with profits up 200% and a new and exciting ride coming every year. Announcing: New for 2006 will be "MISTic Cavern and Spritzwater Falls". See the results of a garden hose accidentally chewed up by the snow blower in this darkride adventure. Entering the Maytag refrigerator box...I mean cave, you will be blessed with dowsing amounts of water from the mistic forces of the beyond. Experience the history as you gaze upon the ancient cave paintings left by people older than Jeff Johnson! Beware of the darkness, the mildew stench, and uncertain doom that could be lurking ahead. Upon exiting, you'll be face to face with the remaining water left in the hose...I mean the mighty powerful waterfall that created the wonderous mistic cave so many eons ago. Someday we're going to be a waterpark chain of awesomeness, I just know it!
alpengeist04 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I've been one of the first into BGW a couple times. I've also been first to ride Alpengeist a couple times, too.
ScOtT k Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 yeah, at DCA. My girlfriend and I were the first people at the gate. We were selected to go out in front of the crowd. We counted down and got first rides on Soarin.
