coasterlover420 Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Are you like the "Next Attraction" guy?
BrilliantMagic2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Author Posted January 10, 2006 Yes I am apparently ,yes I'm looking for the next big thing around all theme parks around the U.S and the world.
Louise Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 ^ Parks around the world? So we have like another 500 of these threads to come?
jarmor Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 ^ and im ready lol lol! WHo needs to go to screamscape anymore, we can get the clift notes right here!
Shockwave Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Yeah, it's a little fun before they all get locked!
jarmor Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Wasnt it mention that IOA wasnt getting a new major attraction until its 13th year to break the streak of being such an unlucky number?
Shockwave Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Wasnt it mention that IOA wasnt getting a new major attraction until its 13th year to break the streak of being such an unlucky number? Lol, that would be a statement! Maybe they'll get the Driving Machines ready by then! Well it's not hurting them keeping things as they are right now.
BarryH Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 The next ride in 2006 will probably be the Driving Machines. If there will be a ride in 2007, it will probably end up in Jurassic Park. The areas for the ride can be the Triceratops Encounter area or the area behind the Spinosaurs display.

Hmmm...not so much GE inherited the Universal theme park chains, and it's becoming pretty apparent that the conglomerate doesn't understand the need to add major attractions to draw in more guests to its three movie-themed attractions. Universal Studios Hollywood suffered a 6% slide, while its two gated attractions at Universal Orlando in Florida were hit with an 8.5% decline in patrons. http://biz.yahoo.com/fool/051228/113577878703.html?.v=1
ECZenith Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 A new 2007 Jurassic Park attraction would make perfect sense seeing as JP IV is coming out that summer. If you've seen any of the storyline, you can see it's going to be a bizarre movie.
JT3000 Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 I wouldn't believe any JP 4 rumors. They don't even have an accepted script yet.

Many people are saying that the ride in JP will possibly be a mega-coaster, which I believe is total blasphemy. Takes too much space, unless it goes around JP, which will totally ruin the feeling.
coasterzak Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 I think IOA needs another big attraction. It's been a long time since they got a major coaster or attraction.
SharkTums Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Yay, I get to bring up my long lost idea for my intamin hyper that I try and bring up once every few months!!! Captain America Intamin Hyper or Silver Surfer B&M Standup (Derek's idea!) Both in Marvel Superhero Island!!! Ok, done now!
DerekRx Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 ^No you dumb girl! Its the Captain American Intamin Hyper coaster! Silver Surfer was the B&M Standup idea! Looks like your long lost idea picked up another lost idea on its way back to your brain and they meshed together! Why am I using so many exclamation marks!? I don't know!
SharkTums Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 ^I knew it didn't sound right!!??! Ugh, my brain is really out of whack lately...I think it doens't like to tuble around inside my skull at gymnastics every monday!! Off to edit my post now!!!
Erik Johnson Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Come on you know everyone is waiting to ride the Driving Machines. I wonder if they will let people 6'3" and over to ride them. Screw Everest, I can't wait to ride these puppies.

Captain America Intamin Hyper or Silver Surfer B&M Standup (Derek's idea!) Both in Marvel Superhero Island!!! Ok, done now! Actually, the Incredible Hulk Coaster was originally going to be the Silver Surfer Coaster. The idea of an all-chrome coaster in the Florida sun didn't go over too well. People would be blinded left and right!
socalMAN123 Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 I don't think you really need to worry about a new attraction, seeing that the driving machines are coming this summer. ---Brent
JT3000 Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Universal has a contract with B&M. I believe they couldn't build an Intamin even if they wanted to. Besides, trying to install another coaster in Marvel, which is really a tiny area, would just make the entire area look like a cluttered Twisted Steel Land.
Thrasher Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 If any coaster happens in IOA, the location is all but confirmed. There is a fairly large area to the left of the main path, right next to Dudley Do-Rights Ripsaw falls that screaming for a JP attraction. Its very possible that this area will have a coaster soon, as the only pull to this end of the park is JP:RA, and Terranadon Flyers or w/e its called isnt what I would call a crowd puller. Bottom line is the JP area has a lot of potential. The location im referring to is pictured in the bottom left of this photo. This seems to be taken when the giant hat was being refurbed.
ChrisFL Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 we need a satellite view: I've highlighted the 3 areas that are often rumored for the new attraction. The lines arent' totally accurate, but they give a general idea of the area. Im looking at the old Trike encounter and I really don't think there's as much space as many people seem to think, so the other 2 areas seem more likely for a new attraction.
SharkTums Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 I agree that the open areas would be easier...but I guarantee there is room in Marvel, and the ride could look impressive.

Yes, there are open areas in other parts of the park, but 99% of the inside info I've seen is for JP, so thats where Im thinking.
