Projektion
^ They practically never run with the brakes running on the MCBR before anyway. I'm back home now, and had a great time at PA. Operations got better throughout the week I was there (abysmal at the start (running 1 train on DK when there was a 1,5 hour queue) then got better as the week went on (to the point where they were dispatching trains as if it was the peak of the summer season)). Angkor, for the most part, had really short lines almost all week. Unless there are a lot of people at PA, I'd say give Angkor a miss, the whole experience is great when there are a lot of people in the area/on the ride (such as after the show that is done in the plaza). My favourite thing of Angkor though is probably the new shots you're able to get of DK and Shambhala. Also, I just want to say, the neuter on DK is not ride ruining, the part of the ride after mcbr is still pretty intense, just not as intense as it used to be, the loop gives a lot more of a floaty feel (like an actual loop) instead of practically being an "upright helix", and it still snaps through those corkscrews pretty quickly. rcjp
^I also felt the corkscrews were still pretty intense (in fact, if I hadn't noticed the extra braking on the MCBR and the slower speed through the loop I think I couldn't tell anything just from the corkscrews). Still, knowing it could be (and once was) faster makes me kind of pissed, plus I do like forceful fast loops. I'm okay with a little weightlessness on the top of the bigger ones, but overall like to feel some forces all the way through them.
rcjp
^^Oh, by the way (sorry for the double post) while you were there, was the screen of furius baco's pre-show working? Because when I rode it (around 10h15 a.m, opening day) it wasn't.
Projektion
^ Yep, was working the entire time I was there, Animatronics and doors were bust though (though I'm fairly sure those have been broken since the opening season)
rcjp
^I've never seen the doors working but the rest yes. This time the only thing I noticed was that the screen wasn't working but the monkey on the bicycle was.
DevilsFlight
I don't get how the new coaster can go around 124 mph but only go about 328 feet. Unless the pull a Formula Rossa and slow it down before the top hat, it seems very strange. Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me? gerstlaueringvar
^ Could be a huge Top Hat with 4 seconds of ejector air.
rcjp
^That would be cool! ^^ I get the feeling that, in reality, it's not going to be SO close to 124 mhp and will be a bit taller than those 100 meters.
tooooobbe
Hey! I just booked me and the gf's flight to barcelona in september. We are planning to stay on Hotel Port Aventura on Thursday 11th september to Friday 12th, visiting the park on Thursday. Do you recommend fast track for this day? I dont mnd resonable queques (lets say 30 min at peak hours). I'm so excited to visit beautiful PA!
Projektion
Hard to say, schools won't have started by then so most kids will still be on their summer holidays. Pretty much you'd have to see on the day since that time of year can be a bit odd. Furius Baco is the first ride you come too in the park, so most people will probably ride on it first, if the queue is outside the villa by 11:30 - 12 (most of the park is usually open or people have dispersed around the park a bit by this time), I'd probably recommend getting the Express Pass. medoman
last time i visited adding a fastpass to the hotel booking wasnt that expensive and allows rides at the front of each coaster (though I think the passes are one ride only). Furious Baco really needs to be ridden at the front as anywhere else is pain.
rcjp
^There are several levels of passes, the highest of which includes one front row ride on each of the three big coasters an unlimited rides on the other seats (and also for some other coasters). Once I went there in July and I thought it was going to be super crowded but it actually wasn't. Dragon khan was 15min for most of the day, shambhala was slightly more but I got some walk ons using single riders line. Furuis baco was the worst peaking at 1h40 min but then it sort of stabilized at 30. Last time I was there (opening day for this year) I got in as soon as the park opened and managed to wait nearly nothing for furius baco right away so I would suggest getting in early and doing furius baco as quickly as possible as: 1 - it usually has the longest line; 2 - because it is so close to the entrance the line will get the longest not much time after the park opens. medoman
be aware though if you're staying in the wild west hotel then you enter the park in a different lace, near the entrance to stampida rather than baco

styki
Hey guys! i am planning a visit to PortAventura on 12th Sept Saturday when there will be a White night. How do the Express tickets work? how long would i wait? I am guessing it will be pretty crowded. What do you think waiting time with an express ticket would be? Maybe you would recommend me to visit it on Sunday 13th Sept, when there will be no White night? Monday the 14th is my last option as my flight back is then (in the evening). Projektion
Hey guys! i am planning a visit to PortAventura on 12th Sept Saturday when there will be a White night. How do the Express tickets work? There are 4 types of Fast Passes as PA: -Express Max: Allows 1 time access to the express queue for each ride in the park. Does not allow front row access. Costs around 25€ -Express Max Gold: Allows 1 time access to the express queue for each ride in the park and allows you to ride 1 time in the front row on Furius Baco, Dragon Khan and Shabhala. Costs around 30€ -Express Premium: Allows unlimited access to the express queue or each ride in the park. Does not allow front row access. Costs around 46€ -Express Premium Gold: Allows unlimited access to the express queue for each ride in the park and allows you to ride 1 time in the front row on Furius Baco, Dragon Khan and Shabhala. Costs around 51€ With the Express pass, you enter through a separate queue line to the rest of the people (usually near the exit of the ride), they will check your express ticket (if you buy Max)/Wristband (If you buy Premium) when you get to the front of the queue. If you don't have the Gold pass, you will most likely NOT get to ride in the front row of Furius Baco, Dragon Khan or Shambhala (If there are no express users with a gold pass, they will let people from the regular queue in the front row. Sometimes you might get a ride op that will let people from the express line without gold into the front row, but they're not supposed to let you). The Gold passes are the only guaranteed way to get a ride in the front row. The Express rides are: -Shambhala -Furius Baco -Dragon Khan -Templo del Fuego -Tutuki Splash -Stampida -Angkor -Silver River Flume -El Diablo – Tren de la Mina -Grand Canyon Rapids Ride ops will usually fill 1/3 to 1/2 of the train with people from the express queue if there are lots of people with express. I am guessing it will be pretty crowded. What do you think waiting time with an express ticket would be? At most, about 2 or 3 cycles of a ride, so I'd say about 5 minutes. Most people don't buy Express passes. Maybe you would recommend me to visit it on Sunday 13th Sept, when there will be no White night? Monday the 14th is my last option as my flight back is then (in the evening). While it may be busy White Night, the park is open till 2am that day, so it may be busy early on, but it will probably die down a lot around 9pm. styki
That's the best reply ever! thanks a lot! I am definitely taking the premium gold as i want to get the best of portaventura for 1 day. queue of 5 min does not bother me at all. I was even ready to sacrifise much more. Are there really any limits for number of premium gold tickets sold per one day? I just have only one day and i am willing to ride all coasters at least 3 times each. Should i buy it now? sholed i be worried for express queues more than 20 min if i go on 13th white night?
styki
I read somewhere through the forum that at white night queues might increase twice at night from 1h during the day to 2 hours at night. How long would i wait with an express gold premium ticket at day/at night? when do you recommend me the first-row ride to be? At day or at night? I can't say, I haven't been to PA during one of their White Nights, but I can't imagine the queues will be any worse since it's around the time schools with be starting back up in the area. As for front rows, I prefer night time rides, Especially when DK is all lit up. That's the best reply ever! thanks a lot! You shouldn't get Express queues of more than 20 minutes on most rides, the only one that may have that long a queue is Furius Baco (because it's the first ride you come to and the booth where you buy Express is literally right out front) and Templo Del Fuego (Because it's a show and each cycle lasts about 15 minutes)
styki
My other question is: are action cameras allowed? with what kind of accessory? head or stomach? In europa park we had bought one for the head, and they said they would only let us with a one for the stomach...

In europa park we had bought one for the head, and they said they would only let us with a one for the stomach... When I was there last month, I saw someone in the queue for Furius Baco with a gopro attached to their chest, I don't know if they were actually allowed on the ride with it though. I don't know if you can take it, but I assume if you could, they would likely only allow the chest ones.
simon8899
^not having an action camera nor planning to get one I would always clear this kind of things with park management before and if they allow it get written confirmation and a number of the management staff which you/the attendant could call in case of questions/problems. It is always a hassle to go back and store it in a locker and then stand in line anew - specially on busy days. I normally try to ride with glasses secured with a strap but on busy days in an unknown park I normally store it in the locker together with my camera just to be on the safe side.
