Mr.Six Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 Hey guys! So last Thursday I went to Disneyland park and had a blast! Nice crowds, ride ops were at their best, along with park managment. The park was all set up for christmas not to mention they're stilling going on their 50th anniversary entertainment. We pretty much had a flawless day at Disneyland. The only bad thing I can think of is how bad it made all the other So cal parks look  ...meh oh well! Here's the link to watch the video. http://homepage.mac.com/marsviolet/iMovieTheater119.html Please remember that this is my first video ever! Also first time using imovie (edititing software). All comments are welcome! Enjoy! _six

SharkTums Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 Really great for first time video editing! I expect a video submission for next years contest!
Mr.Six Posted November 20, 2005 Author Posted November 20, 2005 Thanks everyone for the comments! Any advice on things to improve on? _six
arrowfanman Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 Very nice and fun video! My only advice would be to put yourself in it more! Personalize it!
WillMontu Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 If you select "All the small things" as music, you should at least have more footage of the castle! Other than that, fairly well done. Compared to R&E's videos, this one seems to place more emphasis on the park than on the people.
CoasterCrazy Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 Awesome video, Mike! I have to visit DLR again so that I can ride Space Mountain, it wasn't open when I was there in 2004.
Mr.Six Posted November 20, 2005 Author Posted November 20, 2005 I have to visit DLR again so that I can ride Space Mountain, it wasn't open when I was there in 2004. Yeah, Space has been closed for quite some years, I want to say 01-05. Not for sure though. It was going through major rehab during that time and although there are differences I still can't see why it took so long :? Anyway, Space is now open again , better than ever. _six
methos Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 looks great, if i can ever get my editing done i might have one from dlr to show. i am in process fo converting fireworks show since i have the whole thing.
robbalvey Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 If you select "All the small things" as music, you should at least have more footage of the castle! LOL! I thought the EXACT same thing! Great video, seriously. My constructive criticism would be to try not to have the audio levels of the music and the footage fight as much with each other. It might be something that iMovie can't help, but I know in Premiere you can adjust the volume level of each clip. For example, see below: This is how Premiere handles audio for clips. Perhaps see if iMovie has a similar option?
BelizeIt Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Nice Post! I enjoyed the Video Plus the Soundtrack. What was the Deal with the Moving Trash Cans??? I haven't seen that before.
Mr.Six Posted November 21, 2005 Author Posted November 21, 2005 Nice Post! I enjoyed the Video Plus the Soundtrack. What was the Deal with the Moving Trash Cans??? I haven't seen that before. The trashcan must be something new. It really caught us off guard! We were just walking in Tomorrow land and this trash can litterally walks right up to us; stops us and talks to us! Its those little surprises that really sets Disney ahead of other parks! Robb, imovie is sorta like that. But it seems like all you can do is control when the song starts and when it stops playing. There doesn't appear to be an option that lets you conrol a certain section of the song only. If anyone is fimiliar with the program please comment! I'm asking if there is a way to turn down the music in a clip so its easy to hear the actualy footage. _six

They have one in the Magic Kingdom too. His name is Push. If you watch closely, you can find his operator nearby, ususally with his hand inside a bag of some sort and talking into a cell phone (or appearing to rub his lips so he can talk into a microphone in his hand). He's got to be close enough to hear what people are saying back to the trash can, so look for him next time! -Julie
zaneymon Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Hey mike Watched it lastnight and i said it when we were in the chat and ill say it again Awsome video
Guy T. Koepp Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 For some reason I am only able to get the audio portion. The video never comes up. I've tried several times and it's the same. Mmmmm interesting. The audio sounds great though. Guy "Would love to see footage with it." Koepp

Mmmmm interesting. I had the same problem Guy. The URL directly to the movie is: http://www.homepage.mac.com/marsviolet/.Public/Disneyland.mov So you can paste that into a browser and click file/Save as or paste it directly into Quicktime player. -Julie
