coasterguy618 Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Here are some pics: Go To http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadventure/parkpress/photos.html for more. --Gaven Lift hill taking shape!
memphish Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 'Progress on erection continues' Juvenile I know
Jeezus Juice Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Wow, so this will be a wood structure after all. Somehow because of the tight turnaround and the height I thought that they'd have to go with steel. That's cool that they put up construction pictures from inside the park. Now we'll be able to tell soon if this will indeed have a cable lift or not. -Don
ECZenith Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 El Toro is turning out to be my most anticipated coaster so far for '06. Thanks to Six Flags for providing the in-park photos.
M_Force_4_ever Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 they are moving pretty quickly, I hope I can make it out there next season to ride El Toro
DragonKhan Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 El Toro is turning out to be my most anticipated coaster so far for '06. Thanks to Six Flags for providing the in-park photos. I wouldn't quite say that... For the East Coaste maybe...
ECZenith Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 I'm not speaking for everyone anyways, but you're right the east coast is pretty much where I get my park trips in.
Token Yankee Guy Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 so it looks like this will be a completely wooden ride. I thought El Toro was going to have a metal structure.
viking86 Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 As far as I know, GG is the only company at the moment building woodies with steel structures. CCI also used steel structure on quite a few woodies.
BDG Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Wow, so this will be a wood structure after all. Somehow because of the tight turnaround and the height I thought that they'd have to go with steel. There's more wood in one of these woodies than in most others. A steel support beam for example is rare.
Paul_Hollibone Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 so it looks like this will be a completely wooden ride. I thought El Toro was going to have a metal structure. You forgetting something? What about the Tracks, Nails and whatnot? Don't tell me they are wooden also. LMAO!
coasterguy618 Posted November 6, 2005 Author Posted November 6, 2005 Just wanted to point out, I do not think that Six Flags gave enough info on Plaza de Carnaval and Bugs Bunny NAtional Park. They barley give you any info on Bugs Bunny NAtional Park and they did not give what flat ride is coming to Plaza de Carnival in 2006.
Jeezus Juice Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 ^Thats probably because their still fighting over Astrolands crap with with the other parks. I find it funny that just about every major SF park has announced a new "Family Ride Area Section" at their parks next year. Yay, eveyone gets a tilt-o-whirl and a scrambler! Watch, SFOG will get Astroworlds' looping starship. And SWAT to SFNE, WTF?! Don "Unless they use wooden nails, El Toro isn't a WOOD COASTER!" Garrison
N'at Man Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Is El Toro going to use Viper's old station?
MSLSM Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 ^Yes I never knew the pre-fab track would go up this fast. I am guessing the coaster will be open for opening day, and they are probably going to finish most of the drack before winter really starts.
coasterguy618 Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 ^Well I think all pre-frab track goes up fast because all you have to do is snap the track pieces together.
Token Yankee Guy Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 ^ It's called Fisher Price: Build your own rollercoaster. In a few easy steps 1) Get town/state permission 2) Pour footers with Fisher Price brand cement (sold seperately) 3) Erect Supporters by using the Fisher Price Crane (any kid can use it! - also sold seperately) 4) Snap on track 5) Enjoy Hmmm, sounds like a photoshop idea
TwistedTrack Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 this ride looks so awsome!!! might get to ride it next summer!
coasterguy618 Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 ^^That does sound like a good photoshop idea!
jahmad1022 Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 That looks like a sweet coaster. If only I lived in New Jersey.
MattJackson Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 ^Thats probably because their still fighting over Astrolands crap with with the other parks. MattJackson Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Wasn`t that wierd? Not only did I double post, but I quoted myself!!! LOL!!!
