Rill'o'beily Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 I figured this is a good place to post this: There's strong speculation that a Premier Skyrocket II is coming to Särkänniemi next year since premier has announced a skyrocket II is going in 2017 to somewhere in Europe, and Särkänniemi themselves have announced a new ride that "goes higher than any other in särkänniemi with it's height of 46m", premier lists the skyrocket II as 45m, the ride is also described by Särkänniemi as "The ride goes high up, but it moves forwards and backwards, not just up. Its target audience are thrillseekers." It's also been described as having high acceleration and speed
eKs_Productions Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Yes, it will be a Sky Rocket II >> http://airtimers.com/sarkanniemi-sky-rocket-ii-premier-rides-coaster-2017/0036361/
Rill'o'beily Posted November 27, 2016 Author Posted November 27, 2016 So now the question is will särkänniemi be smart enough / not too cheap to get the double loading station.
eKs_Productions Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Small Park. I think the tripple-train will be enough. And more airtime
Rill'o'beily Posted November 29, 2016 Author Posted November 29, 2016 Small Park. I think the tripple-train will be enough. And more airtime Well a triple train would be better as well, but the one train 2 cars is terrible capacity
Superbatboy Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Happy to see another Sky Rocket II being built, they've been such a big hit for Premier.
larrygator Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 So it appears the name of the ride will be HPYE. Now just waiting for the official announcement that the ride is what it is presumed to be. Maybe the park is taking the same approach that BGT did with Tempesto, they will announce it when it is done.

Canobie Coaster Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Small Park. I think the tripple-train will be enough. And more airtime Well a triple train would be better as well, but the one train 2 cars is terrible capacity The cycle time is so fast and these are so quick to load that even the 12 person train has a better throughput than you'd think. The line didn't go beyond 30-45 minutes a few summers ago when I was there. Lake Compounce's was at most a 1 train wait at the Graveyard when I went.

Keep in mind a 30 minute line for a ride is really long for Finnish people, (unless it's Linnanmäki in July, then 30 minutes is the minimum)
Anac0nda Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 A news post about the freezing of lake Näsijärvi reveals a recent picture about the construction site: Source: YLE news This should remove all remaining doubts about whether this will or will not be a Sky Rocket II. I'm kinda bummed to see so many trees chopped, but on the other hand I'm happy for Särkänniemi for finally stepping up their game and buying two thrill rides on consecutive years! Hype should also provide a very interesting change into the park's skyline, and overall feeling of the park. The awkward forest in the middle used to split the park into two sections, maybe this will open up the area more so it'll feel more like a single park. I'm also hoping for two transfer stations to cut queue times.
DoinItForTheFame Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 So what's a SKY Rocket 1 then? I actually had the same question. . . So I looked into it, and . . . According to: http://premier-rides.com/products/ It is: Sky Rocket at Kennywood.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for a double station.
Anac0nda Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 A user on the finnish coaster forum uploaded two pictures showing the first pieces of track and supports which have arrived at scene (can't link them directly since they are in Google Drive (?)) Source So this has identical colors to Sky Scream... it makes me think this will be a carbon-copy in other way as well, meaning only one train with two cars; no switch station or third car. Bummer. Let's hope I'm wrong! But hey a red track is always sexy nontheless!

Bummer. Let's hope I'm wrong! I guess other than Bosque Magico, parks arent willing to spend the extra cost for the switch station and/or extra car. Not to mention the extra maintenance that probably comes with the switch station.
Anac0nda Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 A teaser has been published, and it's officially a Sky Rocket II now: "Hype is rising"
Nrthwnd Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 ^ Ah, very very nice. I wish Playland(PNE) would get it's (future) act together, and get one of these. Would be awesome if they did!
Rill'o'beily Posted February 10, 2017 Author Posted February 10, 2017 I don't understand how it costs so much. Apparently it cost them 10 million euro. Their big intamin invert tornado cost 2 million less than that (adjusted from marks to current euro)
Anac0nda Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 (edited) I was at the park yesterday, hoping for a soft opening but unfortunately it didn't happen. Aand today they release information that it's now officially open. Here's an onride provided by the park: Edited June 15, 2017 by robbalvey
DoinItForTheFame Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 ^ What a beautiful view from the top of that coaster!! So glad to keep seeing more and more of these built. They really are fun rides! The airtime in the front row cresting the top of the "tower"...
