ajfelice Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I'm going to have to throw in another vote for Bizarro at Six Flags New England. It seemed like the music was complementing the layout of the ride very effectively. I also like how both Bizarro and the former Led Zeppelin-The Ride have the same Whole Lotta Love lyric going down the first drop as it was a nice personal memory jog of Led Zeppelin and Hard Rock Park. Overall, ride soundtracks usually don't make or break a coaster experience speaking from a perspective of the loosely themed coaster, but they serve as a nice frosting on the cake. For myself, I like it when a park will choose queue and station music that complements the type of coaster. Examples include when Cedar Point featured 80s music for Magnum, or Waldameer featuring classic rock and roll for Ravine Flyer II which fits the feeling of a wooden coaster ride. Basically, building the experience from the queue and the station means more to me than the soundtrack on the ride itself because after the lift I don't pay much attention to the soundtrack.
rctneil Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Favorites for me are: Euro-Mir and Eurosat at Europa Park, Nemesis at Alton Towers, Helix at Liseberg, California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure.
JG-77 Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Let's revive this thread! My favorite theme park soundtrack has to be the one for Karnan at Hansa park, it's something to behold!
prozach626 Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Banshee scream, before the drop. Otherwise, the station music for Mr. Freeze and B:TR is great when they play the 90's Batman soundtracks. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
AmyUD06 Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Banshee and the Beast have lift-hill audio? News to me...I didn't notice it at all during my two days this weekend at KI.
Nrthwnd Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Uh...I remember riding The Beast in 1995...and nada on any 'soundtrack' that was going on...except maybe in the station, perhaps? Don't remember that, either. Perhaps it was added, after that visit I made? My 5 cents.
anonymouscactus Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Back in Black - AC/DC -- on Viper lift hill at Darien Lake circa 2010 when the ride was repainted black again. I thought it was clever. It was very hard to hear due to Arrow anti-rollbacks.
prozach626 Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Banshee and the Beast have lift-hill audio? News to me...I didn't notice it at all during my two days this weekend at KI. It's not so much a sound track. It's the screaming effect right as the train drops.
prozach626 Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] 37 second mark. You can usually hear it loud and distinctly in the midway and in the line. It's one of my favorite parts of watching the ride cycle. I hope it's not gone entirely. Maybe those noise complaint tools had something to do with it.
AmyUD06 Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 LOL I always thought that was just part of the chain mechanism. Silly me. Nice.
AmyUD06 Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 I'm serious. I either have never heard the scream or thought it was part of the rides operating mechanisms.
prozach626 Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 If it's gone, I'm going to be bummed. It's pretty hard to miss, so that makes me concerned that it has been removed.
AmyUD06 Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Okay, so I'm not going crazy! I just watched that video over and over again, and I think I figured it out - since all of my recent rides (ie - all of them from 2017 onward) on Banshee have been in the back row, and the sound seems to play timed to the front row, that explains why I haven't heard it.
tndank Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 But typically you hear it the whole time you're in line as well. Or walking around that area of the park. It's fairly loud.
prozach626 Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 Negative Mike! The sound is most audible from the rear. You can barely hear it from the front, since the speaker is behind the front car. I just don't think it was activated during your visit. You would have heard it. It's very distinct and kick-ass. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2020/july/kings-island-launches-new-4k-cinematic-youtube-series?page=2 Watch the beginning of the Banshee cinematic. It's louder in person than it is in the video.
