better_by_design Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Redundant WOW. In addition to the Dead Man's Disco Laser Skull Rave Room, I am also incredibly impressed with how contiguous they made the flume and the surrounding landscaping whenever possible. And the speed of the switches and lifthills. And how come no one has mentioned the ride vehicles? How many flumes have cooler ride vehicles? This is just awesome stuff. Even the ride logo is fantastic!
Solid Gold Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I'm stunned that this amazing flume is the park's single biggest investment ever. Such a strange place, every single ride at there has a weird theme or unique ride system or is buried somehow or is just plain freaky weird. Which are all wonderful things! If they had one super intense Intamin coaster people would easily herald this place as top five in Europe.
Meteornotes Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Well, they certainly went all out on this. Looks like another great addition to this park. Look forward to riding it in the future. dt
glouthan Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Love how this thing has a roller coaster feel (airtime hill after drop). Also, it looks like you would get soaked on this thing . . . most log rides I have been on disappointed me on a scorching summer day.
_koppen Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 A Dam good Video about Chiapas and "Flug der Dämonen" at the end of this Page (click) Awesome, thank you!
alilstronger Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Looks like a really good flume. I love that it has many drops and goes both forward and backwards. Thank you for the report!
gerstlaueringvar Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 What kind of restraint system does Chiapas use?
DJeXeL Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Looks to me that there isn't restraints just like a typical log flume. I'm aware some Log flumes have restraints (IE: Ripsaw Falls @ USO) but Chiapas doesn't seem to have any. Source link below has a fantastic photo album of the Chiapas "preOpening." Source Also, Never realized how tall this drop really was until now...
Hhappy Posted April 18, 2014 Author Posted April 18, 2014 ^ Those metal things are the restraints. They are supposed to be pushed down
DJeXeL Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Ah, thanks for clarifying. They looked like grab handles.

And now, a year later, they're getting Europe's fastest multi launch coaster - by Intamin. (:
