CaptainUnknown Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I'm telling you, you guys are missing out!!! Egg on a burger is amazing!! Try one the next time you have a chance, you won't regret it!! Egg burgers are always my go-to burger. Some places, I'll order a side of an egg just to put it on the burger. Now if only I can find a place that serves one on a glazed donut bun.
Nrthwnd Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Well, there was this burger with an egg on it, I had....... Went to Vera's an hour ago. Got The Pawer, which has an egg, onions, and cheese on it, along with what they call "the usual suspects," meaning lettuce, tomato, a few condiments here and there. It was good, although honestly, I think the egg got a bit lost among everything else in the burger. Whether I would pay extra for another one on a burger...I dunno. It was okay. But not awesome, to me. Still - I DID get me an egg there, LOL! A few photos taken of the experience here... Where I went. Vera's does tacos here, too. The Friday Special. Looking into Vera's. I sat outside at the open counter waiting for mine. The List. And I chose The Pawer. My egg is there on the grill, there. Across the street, 3 sushi spots to choose from! My order is ready! Thanks! Lots of fries to pick at. The burger looks good and messy. Enjoyable! Would I get it again? Probably not. I can do without an egg in my burg. (o;
Philrad71 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 OMG, Bill...I would so try every burger on that menu! The Serengeti and Cajun ones sound really good as does the Baja. I will have to check out the burger with the egg to see what my take is on it. I would love to be able to get Michael to try one of those because he needs all of the protein that he can get right now. Funny thing is that since his surgery and six month stint in the hospital, he doesn't care for burgers or anything with hamburger in it. So when I go to restaurants and see a good looking burger in the menu, I tend to go for it because I likely won't cook them for dinner anymore unless I cook him something else (which is a pain). Oh...and I would LOVE to have 3 Sushi places right near where I live!
Nrthwnd Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 ^ Thanks, and I forgot to add, of the three storefronts, the others there are Tandoori (well duh), Pizza at the end in red chex, and ............? I can't make out the yellow glow on....what kind of cuisine? Hmmm. Will check and report back.
DoinItForTheFame Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Well, I am glad you tried it!!! I'm sad that it wasn't for you. . . But, that's what keeps life interesting... trying new experiences!! Thanks for the report!! (And thanks for trying it!) Sorry you didn't like it.
Nrthwnd Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 ^ That's cool. I'm glad I did finally try one. And as you said, trying new experiences. And here's one new experience I will be trying in the next week or so, at our annual fair, The PNE.... Yum?
Nrthwnd Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 And just because it's true! The place that's giving us the Dungeon Burger (roll the die for putting your burger together), celebrates 5 Years on The Drive! I must get over there, as the celebrations (and special food and drinks) end soon. https://www.stormcrowtavern.com/
CaptainUnknown Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 ^Delicious. And the perfect last meal before heading to college.
djackson Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 For anybody going to Cedar Point do yourself a favor and stop at one of the Swensons locations in the Canton area.
Nrthwnd Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 ^ NOW you tell me! Just kidding. When Bert and I headed to CP from the Cleveland Airport, our tunnel vision aim was to get to Breakers Hotel, and decide other stuff from there. I think we were way too excited for our Very First Time at CP to care about food along the way. But thanks for the heads up on a place to check out, when next time anybody is heading there. And here.... http://www.swensonsdriveins.com/default.asp "Chirp, chirp." A reminder of what I'm having this Sunday, at The PNE. Yum? We'll see. (o; www.pne.ca
Nrthwnd Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Now that I've eaten one of these things (yesterday, Sunday)... ...here's the photos and what I felt about it...and it was very good feelings. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=45028&p=1818594#p1818594 Their varied "Gourmet Menu". Here at our annual fair, The PNE, there is this regular food spot. Contents. Price (which was about $7.50 US). And I had side of fries....cricket free, lol. My main aim was this. Ta-daaah! I also actually checked to see if anything was still....moving. There was not. (o; No matter the burger, I needs my poops of mustard on it, from time to time. It's good! It's REALLY GOOD! And ....dare I say....crunchy good? I enjoyed it enough, I may in the future, buy something else from this great food truck. Mmmmm crocodile sliders anyone...?
anonymouscactus Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Had my first "egg burger" thanks to these forums the other day... it was surprisingly good, but it didn't completely blow me away or change my life as I know it but definitely an interesting combination that I can appreciate!
Nrthwnd Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 ^ That's the way I felt about it! It was good, okay. But not OMG I NEED TO GET ANOTHER NOW kind of feeling. But it is an interesting add-on to a usually great burger, no matter who's making it, lol. The 2016 PNE IT Burger.....that wasn't.... Macaroni/Cheese in a burger = hardly any at all, in it. )o:
Nrthwnd Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 And then I saw this.... Usually, McDonald’s burgers are decadent in the “Oh my gosh, that’s way more food than anybody needs for just one meal” way (remember the Bigger Mac?), not in a gaudy, Palace of Versailles kind of way. However, to promote McDonald’s U.K.’s new Signature Collection, aptly-named high-end fashion designer Julien Macdonald has created a lavishly studded, crystal-encrusted, and lace-covered burger box inspired by red carpet gowns. It’s so posh that you may even want to eat the burger with a knife and fork. Julien Macdonald’s original box design, which will be showcased at restaurant locations around Britain starting tomorrow, has been reproduced in paper-and-rhinestone form as 1,000 McDonald’s burger boxes which can be won in a regional contests: one for the launch event in Exeter, one for Swansea, one for Bath, and one for Coventry, all of which are set to be announced in local newspapers. Future contests will also give away Julien Macdonald boxes at the launch events in Liverpool, Manchester, Bradford, Edinburgh, and Newcastle.
Nrthwnd Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 ^ Wait till they show up on eBay, lol. Can't wait to see how much one will go for, if it sells.
Nrthwnd Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Fatburger is bringing back a fan fave to us, in Canada! Back by popular demand – the New Yorker! This big, hearty burger starts with our juicy Alberta Angus beef patty and double Swiss cheese, topped with tender Pastrami, and finished with mustard and mayo. Available for a limited time at your local Fatburger Canada restaurant. Yum!
ytterbiumanalyst Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 I still can't get over that Fatburger is actually the real name of a legitimate restaurant. Seems like it would be parody like this one: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
Nrthwnd Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Was downtown yesterday evening, so I took it upon myself to "look into" that New Yorker Burger that FatBurger is offering. It was good. Sloppy and messy. But good. I couldn't separate (taste) the pastrami from the burger itself, but that was okay. And the milkshake was awesome! And the fries are always great at FBs. FBs Menu Board. With a Mocha Java Milkshake. Yummy! Whatta mess! But a very tasty mess, indeed. Almost done. I would get one again, easy! (o:
DoinItForTheFame Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 I woke up craving a really good burger today.
Superbatboy Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Was downtown yesterday evening, so I took it upon myself to "look into" that New Yorker Burger that FatBurger is offering. It was good. That looks delectable!! Fatburger is definitely underrated, especially here in California where everyone is obsessed with In N Out
