Photo TR: Plopsa Coo Belgium

So after spending a couple of days at Europapark it was time for the (long) drive home. Plopsa Coo was one of the parks along the possible routes and since i had not been there yet i decided to take this one hour detour to go for a visit.

 

Plopsa Coo is an interesting place to check out. Not for coaster enthusiast but more for families with small children. Besides that the location of this park is pretty cool. Getting there is an interesting drive through the hills in the area. Almost felt like doing a rally through the hills. Francorchamps (the F1 circuit) is within 10 miles of the park.. so that could be an interesting stop as well.

 

Anyway, i did a quick visit and then went on with the drive home...

Vicky has a crazy-looking layout. I like how even small European parks are into building nicely themed stations.

Lovely little park. I visited this before it was a Plopsa park. I was quit a bit younger back than, but I was farley impressed with the "Coaster". It's a impressive kiddy/family coaster with single person cars. Smooth suprising and lovely use of terrain.

^they do... now ! Before the Plopsa era though, everything was nearly falling to pieces with un painted rides and water that smelt like gutters... But this place started as a family day out destination and slowly turned into a park later. The big draw was the waterfall 'cascade de Coo" and kayak / canoeing in the river Ambleve. I have always wanted to try the bobsled ride but was unfortunate as they didn't seem to operate it in rainy weather. I have the "Coaster" credit though...

Looks like an awesome family park, tons of character and charm, and the coasters are quite enticing! Nice!

I like how even small European parks are into building nicely themed stations.

It's a bit unfair - to other parks - to classify this one as "small" though.

 

While it really is small, literally, it's not small financially and creatively.

Its parent company is an incredibly successful media company, making movies, music, tv shows and theater productions.

 

Look at some "nicely themed stations" at their flagship park Plopsaland:

 

 

 

 

 

Yes, even the last one is a station building. Built from scratch only a few years ago.

Fun fact: not a single brick was used, it's nothing but concrete, sculpted and painted to look like weathered brick.

^ I agree they do great themeing, but on that last one I wonder if it would be cheaper in the long run to use real bricks which could be pressure washed and won't need a new coat of paint every few years.

I love these little European parks. Putting this on my list of places to visit someday!
