Brandy524 Posted December 14, 2011 Author Posted December 14, 2011 I'm excited to see everyone's gifts! Part of my gift is going to require some time in the kitchen, so someone has something tasty to look forward to. Sending FOOD? Oh my dear gosh, I surly hope you have me! OR ME! Seriously the best baking I've had in years! Aww, thanks! I'm probably just going to put my street address with no name, because I'm guessing once they open it my person will easily be able to guess who it's from.
robbalvey Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Has anyone found a way to disguise their return address? Is there a reason why you'd want to do this? Let's just say that, in the off chance, your package doesn't make it to it's destination or something happens and it needs to be returned to sender? I only mention this because, the postal services have been a NIGHTMARE lately to deal with. We've had packages from both USPS and UPS recently not make it to their destination, been delivered to an incorrect address, or not have tracking information updated, etc.... I would think it would be wise to have your return address on the package. --Robb
sspaz1000 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 ^ I agree with Robb, the USPS has been a bear lately with stuff. But I wandered around the mall and found a couple things, so hopefully my person enjoys.
QueerRudie Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Shipping my 'Elissa approved' (But not GOING to her...) package tommorow!
cfc Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I tend to have more trouble with UPS than USPS, for some reason.

I don't really mind the person receiving my gift having my address and I hope hope hope they like what I bought, so it looks like I'll be putting in a return address.
robbalvey Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I thought it was supposed to be anonymous. I just assumed that meant you left your name off of it?
Moose Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I'm guessing some people will be able to figure out or have a pretty good idea of who a gift is from based solely upon return address. But like I said it doesn't really bother me for my person to figure out it's from me, I was trying to play in the spirit of the game.
SharkTums Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 ^People will be able to figure out where it's from just based on the postmark. Pretty sure the point of Secret Santa is that it's a secret, until you give the present (or last present in some cases).
thrillrideseeker Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 So I just sent mine out!! ... But left my return address so if something did happen the package could find its way back to me! ~Matt
RoCo Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I tend to have more trouble with UPS than USPS, for some reason. Okay, so I just need to vent for a minute: I use UPS and USPS a lot at work, the latter much more lately, per a company mandate. And the USPS website EFFING BLOWS! OMG, it is one of the MOST ANNOYINGLY DESIGNED, NON-USER-FRIENDLY SITES EVER! And their service doesn't even compare to UPS, in my experience... Oy. Sorry, had to get that off my chest. ^People will be able to figure out where it's from just based on the postmark. Pretty sure the point of Secret Santa is that it's a secret, until you give the present (or last present in some cases). That does make sense, now that I'm remembering... but I'm still leaving my name off the return address...
cfc Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 (edited) ^My problem with UPS is that they tend to break things--and good luck collecting on their "insurance." Never had an issue with the USPS Web site, either. Anyway, I hope my uber secret gift arrives before Christmas. Edited December 14, 2011 by cfc
Sir Clinksalot Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 So I got a box of Secret Santa stuff today ... it's from FL. Whoever sent this box of stuff will be tough to beat because it's an epic bit of Secret Santa'ness. Pictures later.
SharkTums Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Got my gift today...let's just say I'll be heading to one of my favorite restaurants this holiday season!!! YUM!!!!
Brandy524 Posted December 14, 2011 Author Posted December 14, 2011 Yay, I'm glad they're starting to get to their destinations! Can't wait to see pictures!
sspaz1000 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Wrapping up my stuff to send out now. I think my wrapping skills have gotten worse this year. And I apologize for that, but just know I had some great laughs while wrapping the items
Inukaza Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Make sure to post faces, reaction photos make the joy go round!
Sir Clinksalot Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I was pretty shocked to see a box on my porch this afternoon from FL ... I figured it was still too soon to get Secret Santa stuff. Of course I was curious as to who sent it, but I did like the mystery involved. I truly enjoyed the adventure of my box of goodies. Thank you Secret Santa!!! First, let's open up the box and see what we have: The box was STUFFED with goodies! Any present that comes with instructions has to be awesome. First I saw a wolf hat ... this kind of gave an indication as to who the present was from, but I wasn't sure. My instructions were to take a picture of myself and post it to TPR ... that's coming soon. Next up was an awesome Cheetah Hunt notebook. Now, I do use Notebooks for work, but mostly they are just quickly scribbled notes during meetings. I'd hate to ruin such a sexy collectors item with my random meeting scribbling. UP!!! Such a spectacular movie. I was only semi-disappointed to see that I wouldn't get the digital copy since I already have one. D23 stuff!!! Giggedy!!! Truly the most random thing to be included ... two fully functional iPod's. Strangely enough, I have the identical iPod touch. I think this now brings our house up to 8 iPod/iPhone's. Howl O' Scream shirt. It's a Large. No matter how much running I do I'll never get to wear it. Josh can have this one. Same thing applies to this awesome Cheetah Hunt shirt. I'll get a picture of him wearing it. Plus I have that "If I haven't ridden it, I can't wear the merchandise" policy. Twilight ... Totally random, certainly not as good as Up ... and because I have a teenage daughter, it should be no surprise that we already own this. Not sure how my SS knew my love for the movie Balto and for crappy Musicals. The Spider Man Soundtrack is already in my car. Maybe I'll upload it to one of the new iPod's. More awesome Disney randomness!!! Forgive the mess on the kids bathroom mirror ... Finally, a picture of me displaying some of my gifts. I know there were instructions for me to wear everything at once and take a picture, but the only full-length mirrors in our house are in my kids rooms. Josh's room smells too much like a boys gym room for me to spend any amount of time in there, and I don't think the group cares about seeing the plethora of Korean Boy Band posters on my daughters walls.
QueerRudie Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Gregg scores... one hell of a Secret Santa box! (Memo to me: Fill mine more.)
SharkTums Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Gregg...if I saw you walking towards me in a dark alley...no, even a fully lit daylight parking lot...I would get the pepper spray out!
Sir Clinksalot Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Gregg...if I saw you walking towards me in a dark alley...no, even a fully lit daylight parking lot...I would get the pepper spray out! Funny enough, I've been hearing this for years. One of my best friends in HS/College always told me that if he didn't know me, and saw me in an alley, he'd just run the other way. But we all know I'm a lover not a fighter.
robbalvey Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 GGAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!! I CANNOT UNSEE THIS!!!!!
Inukaza Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 GGAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!! I CANNOT UNSEE THIS!!!!! Oh dear gosh, this is too good. xD Glad you (and your family) enjoyed it, your Secret Santa must be some cool guy.
Sir Clinksalot Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 And apparently because I never use that bathroom, I didn't realize the kids need a new shower curtain. How embarrassing.
