Dubailand is back??

Construction Starts an announcements for the Mega project in 2012.

I have to give credit to CoastersandMore for being the first to uncover a bunch of the Gerstlauer and Premier Rides news we posted last week, though it’s all in German so I’ll have to take their word for it. They also dropped off a bit of extra information about that Premier Rides launched coaster, claiming that not only would it have a gigantic 80 meter tall spike at the end of the run, but that the cars will actually spin 180º while going through this element, turning around half-pipe style to face back down towards the ground.

During an interview with Mark Shapiro posted at the LA Times, they touched briefly on the Six Flags Dubailand project. While Shapiro didn’t confirm the exact coasters going into that park, he did say that it would receive major coasters on the scale of: Kingda Ka, El Toro, Nitro and X2. This kind of matches up with another rumor we had heard that Intamin had been asked to come up with another Rocket coaster design that would be bigger and faster than Kingda Ka for a park in the Middle East.

Biggr and Faster than Kingda Ka?? wow

Have you got pictures conceptarts about this Coaster and Dubailand??

Over the weekend we learned that an plans for Intamin to build a bigger/faster version of Kingda Ka for Dubai are off the table. That doesn’t mean that something big isn’t still in the works, it just wont be another Kinda Ka / Top Thrill Dragster style coaster. Rumors this coaster will be 220m

tall...

The project Dubailand is back..

^Did you even read the article you posted.

It says plans will be unveiled in the middle of 2012. The parks are still year off at best.

You also reference an interview with Mark Shapiro from Six Flags. Mark Shapiro is long gone and whatever he said while at Six Flags has no bearing on the project moving forward.

Sounds like something off the ride listing IRM posted today. (2011 77 mph launch coaster)

Triple launch coaster?

300 foot tall spinning coaster?

Those actually sound pretty interesting.

I had no idea someone was selling off an Arrow shuttle. I wonder which one?

^I'm thinking Fun Spot in Indiana. Their's was originally the prototype built at Boardwalk and Baseball in 1977.

Looks like they're selling out Dubailand. The "Triple Launch Coaster" sounds like the Intamin LSM coaster still rotting away in the sand in Dubai. Well, at least it might now be bought and built somewhere.

Some ones selling a Schwarzkopf Bayern Kurve?! Me want!

Does anyone know what that Sally dark ride would be? I haven't seen to many "non shooting" rides from them. And a triple launch coaster, Cheetah Hunt is for sale already?

As for Dubailand, I dont see this happening for a long long time.

The news on the ground is that Maybe Universal and Legoland might start again at some point.

As for the coasters from the Proposed F1X park they are indeed still sat rotting on a sand lot. I was there yesterday and, although the track looks ok, I can imagine it would be cheap to get them running ever.

I really doubt this will happen. Just been to the site where the coaster track has been sat for the last year. I would think that the state it is now in would probably be too expensive to fiix for ferrari world.

^^I wouldn't say it's for sure just because a site is saying it. There was lots of stuff 'said' to us during our Ferrari visit, you have to take it with a grain of salt. I know the park was 'interested' in getting those rides, but like Dave said, not sure if it's actually feasible.
