Now it's time for Parque Espana! This was a great park with a lot of cool and 'interesting' rides. The bull ride and the elevator 'ride' are really awesome weird rides. The theming is also really good, and Pyrenees was running really good! I lost some of my ride pictures from this day, but I still got a lot of the random stuff. Enjoy!

The Japanese have these storage systems down to an art form (It also helps that people follow directions in Japan).

They had a pretty lame Alice walkthrough.

But it had random effects and a weird storyline.

Next up was an ice house! These were the greatest during the heat of the day. We always bought the unlimited entry pass (it's usually an add-on attraction) and used it a lot!

They had these dancing spanish girls like the old Epcot ride, but with the flash on they look like demon zombies.

Day4Japan37.jpg.cdb5f0145512cbe95ad35b8f99a687f9.jpg

Ok, this looks more like the old ride. Ok, maybe not. ;)

We stopped to play this 'game.' You got to feel the weight of the 'winning' bag and then had to pick another bag that was the same weight.

We made our choices and completely failed. We didn't know what it was when we saw it and it ended up costing about $5 each!

We made it back. Next up is a little culture with an Epcot landmark!!

This was a really nice looking park. All the rides were fun, and I think we did the musical, colorful escalator a bunch of times just because it was so random. Wasn't there a pretty good dark shooting ride here?

^^They had two shooting rides, and I can't remember which one was the one you described.

^Thanks! We hit everything, including the incredible Musical Circus and Matador, I just lost a few pictures

Yes, I was sad to find out that "Musical Circus" was no more.

The park has replaced it with a ...4-D movie thing?

Not sure, but it just won't be the same without MC.

But - thank goodness for the all-day pass (I hope, still)

to the Ice House, LOL!

And.... The Magical Musical Escalator Ride!

Next up is a little culture side trip. We headed to see the real version of the Torii gate in Miyajima, and then heade to the "How won the war against Japan" Hiroshima Atomic Bomb museum (Yeah that was in really bad taste). Then we headed over to a monkey park, and we got to feed and get chased by some monkeys.

DayFiveJapan01.jpg.4e5e3795751a4cc42f04939a93f22e44.jpg

On our way to Hiroshima, and that means, more sandwiches!

Lemon Soda, very very good!

DayFiveJapan04.jpg.be2b6d528ffee40a16b5feefa9ea3718.jpg

This looks familiar.

DayFiveJapan11.jpg.188f57a6d038266419d20035a4304f36.jpg

It's the real Torii gate that Epcot replicated!

DayFiveJapan06.jpg.8fbad4b8396d628062b3643d34ee3926.jpg

They had very tame deer everywhere!

DayFiveJapan07.jpg.a73b29f6a43aa779d07df24f6bb711d9.jpg

I bought one of my favorite snacks, mochi on a stick!

DayFiveJapan08.jpg.5bfa1a6a35b642097c3e0df33ab80659.jpg

This deer really wanted some of my Mochi

DayFiveJapan09.jpg.140c0e4d034863f1f17672f1686a3350.jpg

He then started chasing me all over.

DayFiveJapan10.jpg.f1a99dafbdb6123f7ec1cbad204f819f.jpg

I swear if you get any closer I am going to stab you with the Mochi stick.

DayFiveJapan11.jpg.715368fea237e75eed88c46d8f0f235c.jpg

The 'hypocenter' of the explosion. Above this spot is where the bomb detonated.

Now it's time to leave the sad part, and head off for some more fun, Monkey Park!

DayFiveJapan50.jpg.b0d2cfcdc5f52378ab264caa01c78b75.jpg

I love their english attempts!

They've got some nasty looking feet!

Yeah, right there. That's the spot!

DayFiveJapan54.jpg.39dd296332492eb628257588070732bd.jpg

Let's see, the short hand is the hour hand, and the long hand is for minutes.

DayFiveJapan55.jpg.7d8067cf357a63f56e5cdae0a9f8430a.jpg

You couldn't stare at the monkeys or they take it as a threat and give you a pretty scary teeth baring look.

DayFiveJapan56.jpg.180b9719a35d783ec0c2b0aa038f09dc.jpg

Time for a snack!

DayFiveJapan57.jpg.eefdbddf2b9a3595f8fe377d6e65ab6f.jpg

The monkeys were really cute!

DayFiveJapan58.jpg.9b0f72aaed6dc5c1da686706f48b99cf.jpg

The baby was so cute!

DayFiveJapan59.thumb.jpg.723fafa66e91aea2b940f3fa2f024fcc.jpg

They want to be fed!

DayFiveJapan60.jpg.bede35a503eddffd32ce778276fb8acb.jpg

Excuse me, what time does the next bus come by?

DayFiveJapan61.thumb.jpg.aec39c6a5e72dbf31461296a7eb00941.jpg

They ran pretty much free around the hills.

DayFiveJapan62.jpg.5ed421e65069dfbaeadd197e6a494ef4.jpg

Stay low and crawl slowly and they won't see me.

DayFiveJapan63.jpg.d45fc5372d98bed22136ca0e7be7fb28.jpg

Jungleman juice was delicious!

DayFiveJapan64.jpg.065904b0389e9ae91afb5ab07e3dfc53.jpg

But Ambasa was even better!

DayFiveJapan65.jpg.ea5ecb1e304614f0e566dd1d84e478cd.jpg

Next we headed up north to Kyoto to visit the best Tofu restaurant in the world, and visit some Temples.

DayFiveJapan66.jpg.4f2b1001435502ca356b0fe61356b893.jpg

The boys didn't think it was anything special.

DayFiveJapan67.jpg.63cb4367839aa27c54897dce8918a5e2.jpg

I actually don't really care for tofu, but this place is so incredible that I ate a ton!

DayFiveJapan68.jpg.02c953cc0c03080040a98c68e051d4a8.jpg

It was a really nice place.

DayFiveJapan69.jpg.7a16699e16fa8ae0f16a2aeee3d748e6.jpg

And who says the Japanese don't believe in diversity.

DayFiveJapan70.jpg.2935d3e56b052607ee125e461b0bad56.jpg

This was a line to drink and wash your hands with their special water

Hey, I found a Japanese teacher for Robb!

DayFiveJapan72.jpg.1b4d3757a6307ff4baa9751a60f4a226.jpg

Maybe they are racist.

So we have that phrase, 'Go jump off a bridge." My mom said they grew up saying a similar thing, but to jump off of this place.

DayFiveJapan74.jpg.4d44a7b23531d0d3c52e838e47e6510a.jpg

Yeah for turtles!

DayFiveJapan75.thumb.jpg.75808e8ae8369d051ee6f2e245404a16.jpg

They still have people dressed in kimonos, and it's completely normal.

DayFiveJapan76.jpg.5fe1c3b8f84e267474e30f03c66f0cb4.jpg

I know you can use pencils with paper, but I don't know how they would use peppers.

Ok, those nasty spiking snails look terrible.

Joey, this is amazing and getting me so excited for all the new food and drink options (in addition to the parks which I've already been studying for years), so thanks for doing this for us. On the other hand, you suck for not going with us! I'll be sure to have some delicious mochi for you while I'm there.

The Hiroshima museum was interesting (and sad) to see what happened.

The monkeys were so cute when we were feeding them through the fence, but once we were out walking with them all free-they were a little scary! Don't look them in the eyes...They do a crazy stare and show their teeth. And Joey got chased by one and ran into a bush, that was so funny. :lmao:

Time for another update! This update will combine a few days since I wasn't able to post anything for the past few days being in Santa Clarita for the canceled Food Truck festival. Thankfully, Elissa had an awesome plan B and I was still able to gain about 3 pounds! Anyway, we finished with southern Japan and headed back to Tokyo. Once back, we hit La Qua, Sega Joypolis, a baseball game, and Muscle Park, and of course, we ate a ton of food and had a bunch of sodas! Post some comments!

SixJapan01.jpg.0bd80e7907cabe5710a8b8047f17ce66.jpg

We had a great view of Mt. Fuji on our way back.

SixJapan02.jpg.3e461ae96eee8da2fec339bdd43510e5.jpg

We stopped by for a quick visit to Kinkakujin, the Golden Palace Temple.

SixJapan03.jpg.ef9c6ed6abac608e53c93f285735287e.jpg

Proof we were there!

SixJapan04.jpg.51e36ee6bb6a331d5e1f888732e6b98f.jpg

Pineapple soda jelly drink!

SixJapan05.jpg.cb03ae11810e36ff891359fb5ffe1694.jpg

Time for some Amino Acids! (Another great drink)

SixJapan06.jpg.40b815b3ff440b18b4668ae472793931.jpg

We've made it to the Sega Joypolis/Muscle Park area!

SixJapan07.jpg.bc80781916c29a16f1b0c8ec8eb28136.jpg

Lot's of 'full size' video games (They also had a bobsledding one)

SixJapan08.jpg.4fe9fb20d5edff2cdd392d802b887bcf.jpg

Amy's about to ride Half Pipe Canyon (Sorry for the bad pictures)

SixJapan09.jpg.c812754733de4bc4661a469a3c0c0016.jpg

Spin Bullet was pretty painful.

SixJapan10.jpg.f7c4c9a50794a4026810b1c6701d68ae.jpg

My old dad at the food court. The round seating area in the background is perfect for a small TPR group.

SixJapan11.jpg.a9a972f9d8b42092c8366a24ff425c1f.jpg

An interesting way of saying to go orders, or for our british friends, take away.

SixJapan12.jpg.8cd6cf4aeb0b8792fdd01703e017f23c.jpg

My thoughts exactly!

SixJapan13.jpg.b0f77c498ee332d4dcd6c7b363d1fbf3.jpg

This was the warning sign for one of the full body games (you had to manually move a treadmill to get your character to run)

SixJapan14.jpg.b718f1c949930c6cd4946c54fbeee22b.jpg

Well, I guess that eliminates most of TPR!

This is our favorite shopping area, Asakusa, and there is a tiny park right behind it but it was closed when we were there.

SixJapan17.jpg.60b4f77a374fa49ed444bf33cc73e56e.jpg

A park, incredible food, great shopping, and tons of culture! It's a perfect place!

SixJapan18.thumb.jpg.d913f1b583e7bae2250df6dcdabad47c.jpg

Grilled mochi, one of my absolute favorites!

SixJapan19.jpg.20c818546be6cdacea6d8064fe2ea3bf.jpg

Now it's time for Sukiyaki(a grilled teriyaki style dish), and Shabu Shabu (a meat cooked in a kind of soup).

SixJapan20.jpg.2929bc937d5cd24322450f9006cf5be2.jpg

The Shabu Shabu 'stew' is starting to cook!

SixJapan21.jpg.70317b843b6bff17c7480b1134a9c005.jpg

Lot's of great veggies and tofu.

SixJapan22.jpg.3748b9605aa08fb6f0c7e04ebc5b24aa.jpg

The sukiyaki pan is getting ready!

SixJapan23.jpg.da119ef69c0b3931b1dff090a4602559.jpg

Perfection!

SixJapan24.jpg.08a6eef84bc2e18dc7804d7ce218b8d4.jpg

Time to cook up some more perfectly marbled beef!

SixJapan25.thumb.jpg.af088c676ba357e00259bb89cacbb030.jpg

Time to burn it all off at Muscle Park!!!

SixJapan26.thumb.jpg.70162f413cd7adc7deca69227f7eebaa.jpg

They tested your reaction time in this game.

SixJapan27.jpg.c5d02b068df387e50262b6d855e9a3c8.jpg

In this game you had to stack blocks before the train came by. It was pretty difficult as the train got faster.

SixJapan28.jpg.1fca4e20a5b1c8089f1624baf4ce5cbb.jpg

In this one you both held a basketball and had to maneuver it through the maze without touching the bars in a certain amount of time.

SixJapan29.jpg.61e2ed2fb77d258fc3b9b1b19f6e7362.jpg

Me and Amy almost had it!

SixJapan30.jpg.6e84b3297dc63cefd31ba85655fe1775.jpg

This game literally sucked. You had to suck up the balls and then stand under the place where they would drop from. It was actually a lot harder than it looked.

SixJapan31.jpg.c1535d277704c8cf3291660e46de43a9.jpg

After seeing the hand bike on American Gladiators all those years ago we actually get to try it!

SixJapan32.jpg.6a1e5385413805870f1c1a6729ca40f6.jpg

Tyler and Jonathan did pretty good.

SixJapan33.jpg.1827e06364f5a1d41070e9bb8aaa3e54.jpg

But Fatty me did it really fast and put them all to shame!!!

SixJapan34.jpg.5bf422e0e709ed2ebf73ca804aa2b76d.jpg

My fat butt even passed this part!

SixJapan35.jpg.f27b678b382ae9e274dcf6d2b47e84c9.jpg

Amy got over half way!

SixJapan36.jpg.f907f1d6bfff48dd78f427155faaefb4.jpg

This one was a bit hard for Amy.

SixJapan37.jpg.be012bc6cba761aaa0843999e5cd18bc.jpg

In this game you had to touch the numbers in order and each round added more and more numbers. If you finished all the levels in a certain amount of time, you won a towel, and I got one!

SixJapan38.jpg.36ef69c789b6e59aa9ca63afef0b825d.jpg

This one was pretty tough. I think you had to hit the numbers in the order they appeared on the screen. Pretty tough, we all failed.

SixJapan39.jpg.82ca476d8deefd0b9837b03ff17347c6.jpg

Me and Amy attempt it, and fail.

SixJapan40.jpg.f650bf4278a1799dd12827351438c89f.jpg

I should've practiced my frisbee throwing before I came here.

SixJapan41.jpg.0726abf44eb4cc76499ead0d6c2d873f.jpg

The pushup and sit-up contest.

SixJapan42.jpg.f8e6fa14e13960cd760683d056fbfcff.jpg

I kept up with Jonathan for a while.

SixJapan43.jpg.696d8366d923bd4da35040e6c391931a.jpg

But then my fatness set in and he pulled away from me. I felt like passing out after that.

SixJapan44.jpg.a95b9aaa18a2eaed5e9a053b97b2fbb5.jpg

Time for a Monster Burger to gain back all of those calories!

SixJapan45.jpg.1ae8f8dedd9b349f25b53aecf48e4b7d.jpg

Elissa will be happy with this nearby!

SixJapan46.jpg.a6b39da1ce4b90d5db10d4c5089f31bf.jpg

Time for Thunder Dolphin at La Qua/Korakuen! (hope it opens for you all!)

SixJapan47.jpg.e2a3c1a09cf25a09f9347fe25522bbf8.jpg

This part is supposed to scare you. The vehicle leans somewhat over the edge of the building so the person on the left can see over it.

SixJapan49.jpg.241d903aaf102160d0870f668b2adf35.jpg

Thunder Dolphin going through the choose your own music theme giant wheel!

SixJapan50.jpg.dd058ae92c4eb716464ef0797c112148.jpg

The one to the right gives you actual cups. Sometimes those are the best because they can have a lot of drink combinations.

SixJapan51.jpg.879ebc8df83bb65ef3cbb0b2f066681a.jpg

The massive sandwich in the middle is called the American Picnic. Yeah, they know we are all fat.

SixJapan52.jpg.f07a1a7014167b6f8cb9284835a54a86.jpg

We got this credit! I always thought this was the scariest mouse I had ever been on. The lateral forces were really extreme. Too bad it's closed now.

SixJapan53.jpg.4c7d3a97373148ea218b3acc097e66dc.jpg

Haha! Must have been the google translation of Baby Back Ribs ;)

SixJapan54.jpg.cc4cd5bda39436fb27eb150e2582e2ee.jpg

The Parisian Honey Toast was the best french toast I have ever had!

SixJapan55.jpg.5b1c53266d741b27cbc28510e0f2ba59.jpg

Never really thought about it, but it really does look a shinguard!

SixJapan56.jpg.853d445d97cb0c10b4a450927e532e3b.jpg

There is a good toy/souvenir/junk store in this area.

SixJapan57.jpg.6aa4557142c85d58b9f7ae80e827a9d9.jpg

Yeah, I look like a tool, but this is the single greatest bakery in the world! Even better than the ones in Paris! It's called Andersen's. If you ever see one, you have to go! Miss the bus, it's worth it!!! ;)

SixJapan58.jpg.08fec45c78ea040e0d088108402e2f9c.jpg

One of my small Andersen's breakfasts. Yes, that is really all mine!

SixJapan59.jpg.712ed576cac1b65ee57fe365a18d903b.jpg

Another day, another Andersen's breakfast!

SixJapan60.jpg.0279fe3d8bf79308b5a7bbd5b2a7df84.jpg

Japan has some awesome signage.

SixJapan61.jpg.5be6fa3dd55c1247a2b81d7770f5511b.jpg

Musk Melon (Like a honeydew but 10,000 times better) is one of the most expensive fruits in Japan. This slice cost $40!!!

SixJapan62.thumb.jpg.9cdfbc8912faf9508598b91c0477466b.jpg

The single greatest soda in the world, REAL GOLD!!!! *Of course it's made by Coke!

SixJapan63.thumb.jpg.e96cde980cabbfef40e9fc19711be449.jpg

We ate sushi at Saito, one of the few three michelin star sushi restaurant s in the world. He's cutting the absolute best tuna. I hold the record at this restaurant for most sushi ever eaten by a non-sumo wrestler! It was about 52 pieces ;)

SixJapan64.jpg.5d93e22610cde72f074f158e21c836d5.jpg

Some more delicious sandwiches!

SixJapan65.jpg.016b19d94829d19f06f40677c661feaa.jpg

Now it's time for lunch! Can you tell I was hungry when I did this report!

SixJapan66.jpg.0f04f095ea8f20d8a7883653b35464e8.jpg

Let's just throw a few english words together for a band name!

SixJapan67.jpg.7a95407839463ed55ff57130b2091cdc.jpg

Time for some Japanese Baseball! To bad it's the Giants :(

SixJapan68.jpg.890b065c4bbfed2339f578967e0cbbb7.jpg

The mascots are a lot better.

SixJapan69.jpg.8731ca3edafab0cb2b0835fb63308944.jpg

The concessions area is pretty similar.

SixJapan70.jpg.62608151269ce962e77f1dca50104f1f.jpg

The food is somewhat similar as well.

SixJapan71.jpg.97a194b6f315e9b96b559e88aa472444.jpg

I'll pass on the Hamburger with raw egg.

SixJapan72.jpg.8bd936bb14c468114cdac9bbda0e5384.jpg

That's much better than what the Oakland A's has at their stadium!

SixJapan73.thumb.jpg.cfe2cbc9f1ee674b5d54b26195312e73.jpg

Delicious fried chicken on a stick!

SixJapan74.jpg.b749e97ea68ee8b8675423fc3dfcb6fe.jpg

The police wear helmets so they don't get knocked out by a stray ball!

SixJapan75.thumb.jpg.06c10f696f5d1e32cbe0506e76e53a2d.jpg

My Bento Box lunch! Hamburger, hot dog, fried shrimp, fried chicken, and an omelette!

SixJapan76.jpg.f5a9b687938acf21da06332c2efa7f9b.jpg

This guy walked up and down the sidelines between play to remind you to pay attention or you will get smacked in the head.

Clean and disinfect you seat before you sit!

SixJapan78.jpg.1ed7aa7c0ef117e006c7efe290977d8d.jpg

And you thought going to the bathroom was so simple! They definitely know how to use technology!

SixJapan79.jpg.cbe3928e7a54284a3c7a12bd6645aabc.jpg

They even had a shelf for all your bags. (BTW, Tokyu Hands is one of the coolest stores in Japan. It has absolutely everything you could think of! The Shinjuku one is the best!)

SixJapan80.jpg.69d86bfdd276583c2ac4329100fc5930.jpg

This taxi driver had a horrible picture.

SixJapan81.thumb.jpg.6b14e9032190f56efd872ab030cfab18.jpg

This was a Avocado Burger from Kua' Aina, an incredible burger place.

SixJapan82.jpg.da74822b4d67003c58281704ecd254d1.jpg

This was a shrimp dish from a local 7-11 type store. It was only 220 yen (about $2.50), but was much better and fresher than dishes you get from most US restaurants!

SixJapan83.jpg.8e3c4b83fb8cbf1ca7598ded19bea2c4.jpg

I did have to do a little work while I was in Japan. I redid the paper and wood on these Shoji screens in my mom's office!

SixJapan84.jpg.e7cb5c5c0eb39697a3e0a2ebd49ae471.jpg

We found this nasty huge beetle outside. Anyway, only two more updates left, and only a few more days until you leave :(

So bummed about Muscle Park closing!!! Oh well, it gives me more reason to plan that Northern Japan TPR Trip to visit the one up in Hokkaido.

Did you actually eat at that Baseball City Cafe place at Tokyo Dome? We ate there back in 2004 and it was actually quite good. Haven't gone back since though since we're more adventurous and comfortable in Japan. That was kind of the 'safe bet' place on our first trip!

I really want to go to Japan again! I'm glad I got to go to Muscle Park before it closed, that was a fun place.

And we did eat at the baseball stadium, it was good that I remember. We ate at alot of places and none of them were bad.

Also, seeing your muscle park photos makes me want to cry.

We were at Joypolis and planning on going to Muscle Park after, but we were short on time so we skipped it. That was the worst trip planning decision I've ever made I think. I would've much rather done Muscle Park than Joypolis (I hated Spin Bullet).
