MrMorgan
Excuse me. Can you please stop updating this thread? Seriously. How am I supposed to get any work done when there are multiple pages of awesome WDW updates to browse? Please do all of us working folk a favor and stop taking so many great pics and posting them here. We have other things we should be doing. One question: how does the merging of the interactive side of the Haunted Mansion line back into the regular line work? Is there a CM there controlling who goes when, or does it just happen naturally? For some reason, I am picturing people arguing over who cut in front of who. rosscoe
Great up date as always, but I am still at a loss over why there was a second Cars movie made?
Andrewoplis
Wow! Thanks for posting this! Ive have never been to the park my self but it looks like there is a ton of work going on!
SharkTums
I'm a bit confused as to putting Winnie the Pooh BACK into a bunch of attractions. They just took Pooh out of the Playhouse Disney show and in fact you can't find Pooh on the Disney Channel at all anymore. Seems a bit odd. Also, having just visited Legoland California yesterday I really appreciate that newly expanded Lego store with some awesome new models!
wheresrenaldo
They are placing Winnie the Pooh back in for a new promotion to tie in with the new Pooh movie being released.
SharkTums
^Ahh, I didn't realize they were releasing a new Pooh movie. That still is odd then that they pulled him off of the Disney channel!

darklingscribe
This is an epic photo report thread jedimaster1227. You really are putting as much detail into capturing Disney's new attractions, as they put into building them. On a side note: Great up date as always, but I am still at a loss over why there was a second Cars movie made? I always thought that Cars was Pixar's biggest success outside of Toy Story when it comes to merchandising. That reason alone is enough to keep the brand alive. Also Cars 2 looks promising story wise. Pixar seems to be making it into a Secret Agent/James Bond type adventure.
Inukaza
Strange, I was there (MK and MGM) yesterday. Thanks for the update on all of these things!
jedimaster1227
^Not sure what's strange about it, but I was there on Friday, which is when these photos were taken.

mandy_Reeves
So, any word if WDW will get that bad ass talking Mickey like Disney Land has? I have seen videos on Youtube, and it is... It makes me feel 5 years old again! Mickey Mouse was my first crush!!! I was all about the mouse from age 2 til I was 7. Hopefully by the time I get to WDW they will have talking mickey! Wheelchaircoaster
I really like the new lego store. All those figurines look amazing. Disney Quest is nice. Never been in it but it looks cool. Great Report.
HPCrazy
I just looked over all your recent photos and I'm so happy to see WDW receiving all this TLC. You also answered my question regarding where the new parade begins. We got that mixed up on our last trip and staked out our spot over near Star Tours when Block Party Bash began over at the other end. At least we'll have our good spot again this time. Love what's going on over at Downtown Disney too. The new Lego store looks great! Great PTR!
mandy_Reeves
I believe the talking mickey will be used for the meet and greet(sorta paraphrased that quote...since my copy paste is weird today) OMG!!!! I wanna go to Disney more than ever now....I've never been. FABULOUS trip report! I love visiting themeparks vicariously!
jedimaster1227
^As of right now, the meet and greet features the normal Mickey and Minnie, with no talking at this point. That could change in the future, but at least for now, I was wrong about that one.
nay
I thoroughly enjoyed this update, as it included a place near and dear to my heart, DisneyQuest. Though I have to correct you on one thing... Mighty Ducks Spinball game It's Mighty Ducks Pinball Slam. But seriously, great update, as always!
jedimaster1227
A few days ago, Bryan and I decided to go back to Disney's Hollywood Studios (yes, that means that a new Bryan and Adam Show episode is on the way) and to stop by the Pop Century Resort to eat, walk around and see the progress on the upcoming Art of Animation Resort. Take a look and see what we found! And we're back at Disney's Hollywood Studios! In preparation for the return of Star Tours (and Star Wars Weekends), Sounds Dangerous has closed once again. Where in the World can you find this? In Wisconsin, of course! I miss you guys! Oh you Californians... We had it first! Street entertainment... Park VP, Rilous Carter was out and about, touring the Star Tours area and talking to guests. It looks nice with the wall down, right? The new attraction marquee is now up! The new, old logo is now in place. The studios theme is still upheld, although far more subtly here. It has been rumored that cast members are to act knowledgeable of the attraction while outside of the main queue, but once inside, they are supposed to be in full character, acting like Walt Disney World does not exist, and guests are truly in the bustling Star Tours spaceport. This will soon become the Fastpass sign. The Jedi Training Academy continues to operate as normal. Here he comes... All too easy! Have you seen this enough yet? Time to go where we haven't gone in a while. Time to test out some new settings on the camera! It's time for a footlight parade! Hard to believe this whole ride could have ended up in Future World at Epcot. Cagney, Cagney, Cagney... It is more rare these days to see the Western heist... But there really are some great details in the mob scene. Like steam pipes! "So long, ya chumps!" Clint Eastwood should re-grow his beard. No fire today, folks! This is Alien. You are aboard the space-ship, No-Stro-Moh. With Sigourney Weaver. NO-STRO-MOH! Edited May 6, 2011 by jedimaster1227
jedimaster1227
(Continued) A classic... "Halt, nonbeliever!" "Disturb the gem and suffer the Pharoah's curse!" "Warned ya!" Casavablanca. Not a real aeroplane. I have a feeling we're not in Casavablanca anymore... Who wears a planting pot for a hat? Who killed my sister? Was it you? Very well! I'll bide my time... But try to stay out of my way. Just try! I'll get you my pretty! And your little dog too! Cue accidental actress burns... This ride is so accurate, to the T! Gum, num num, nominal! Fun fact: There are actually two Shield Bunkers at Star Tours. One is the home to the Jedi Training Academy, and the other is a remnant of the old Endor Vendors facade, the store that predated Tatoinne Traders. See you in Brooklyn! While the meet & greet is being refurbished, Tow Mater is out and about on the Streets of America. Hiya Dave! Rabble! Rabble! Rabble! A rare case of Green Eye. A section of Sunset Boulevard is being refurbished. Details. One of my favorites! The On the Road booth by Rock n' Rollercoaster has updated its collection to include recent soundtrack releases. It wouldn't be a proper Roth Report without a panoramic photo somewhere in the mix. Time for some Larry love! Details. Have I ever mentioned how much I love this queue? "I love that idea!" New merch! Ignore Bryan for a second and notice the Hanes posters running along the exit path. Making beautiful music with art and coasters. I had never noticed this before... Where are we now? jedimaster1227
(Continued) Hidden details... The last of the paint work remains at the base of Tower of Terror. This lobby still amazes me... Though I really love the one at DisneySea even more. We're arrived in the library, just in time it seems... Twilight Zon. 1.21 JIGAWATTS?!?! This, as you may recognize is a maintenance service elevator, still in operation, waiting for you. We invite you to step aboard if you dare, because in tonight's episode, you are the stars. And this elevator travels directly to, the TWILIGHT ZONE! Not sure if anyone realized this, but after the Summer Nightastic! modifications were made, the camera effect in this scene was retained to allow for the old eyeball effect on the 13th floor to work again. Note: I didn't use the flash on my camera. I just happened to take the picture as the flash was going off from the room's own cameras. They've disappeared! Disappeared, disappeared! Back, back! Over the falls! Where'd the window go? This still is the best "wow-factor" moment in any Disney ride, anywhere. The gates to another dimension are about to open... Fun fact (as explained to us on the Backstage Magic Tour): The pickle jar was place placed here accidentally by a construction worker on his lunch break while the room's props were being glued in. The pickle jar was never removed and became a part of the scene for good. As you haven't seen this photo before. Another look at the lobby... Elegant or angry? You decide. Detailed wood work in the queue. An unknown soldier and cannon in the library. Crack! Shatter! And this is what a closed Tower of Terror looks like. Villains in Vogue has become the home of a sizable collection of Vinylmations. Do you know where we are now? Any idea yet? This should be a dead giveaway. Disney's Pop Century Resort has a great arcade. They have this contraption... And this thingy... And virtual credits! The Mowgli & Baloo statue is being worked on. Construction on Disney's new Art of Animation Resort is well under way. The construction base is set up on this side of the lagoon.
jedimaster1227
(Continued) This section will be the Cars-themed wing. Notice the back of the Ornament Valley facade that will adorn the building's front. This wing was built from scratch. This land was originally intended to be the next phase of the Pop Century Resort, known as the Legendary Years. A look down the bridge at the Art of Animation Resort. One wing of the Legendary Years was actually built at the same time as the rest of the Pop Century Resort. The inside and external theming remained bare up until recently when it became an incorporate section of the upcoming Art of Animation Resort. When it is finished, you'll never know that this was supposed to be a part of the Pop Century Resort. Another wing just recently went vertical. There's still plenty of work to be done here. Another look at Ornament Valley. The main lobby for the Art of Animation Resort was already built for the Legendary Years, but is currently being reutilized to become a part of the new resort. A look back towards Pop Century. Awaiting a new coat of paint... I'm sure it'll look amazing when complete. Pop! Everything Pop! is a food court with a ridiculously large amount of meal choices. I decided to try the chef special of the day. Yum! *drools* And some healthy options to finish off with...
jedimaster1227
So I went back to Disney a few days ago with a friend that had yet to experience several major (and minor) parts of Walt Disney World. So, in the process I took lots of photos! In case you were wondering which company was which. Lots of Star Tours merch! When 800 years old you get, eyesight not so good, is it? Only for you TPR. Only for you... During the week, the Star Wars Weekends stages gets a minor overlay to better blend it into the park. Only for you TPR. Only for you... The new Winnie the Pooh meet & greet has opened inside of The Magic of Disney Animation Building. Seems popular with the kids... The balloon moves along the pulley, back and forth in the area. A pretty nice touch! The queue for the meet received a minor upgrade as well. Streetmosphere doing their thing! Over at Magic Kingdom, we were greeted with this lovely sign of the times! The longest I've ever waited to see Mickey here, but still not a terrible wait at all! Since riding Cheetah Hunt, exploring the Disney Magic and going on several Star Tours, I've attained magical powers. A fun little detail that the Imagineers recently added... Flash photography reveals an electricity effect in Mickey! It also works on the orb itself! For the last few weeks, Minnie has been with Mickey at his meet & greet. Not sure if this is permanent, but it is certainly welcome. Mary Poppins, right? The Dapper Dans are always amazing! Remember this guy? This was long before we started using transparapaper. Welcome home! You've arrived! It wouldn't be a visit to the Magic Kingdom with a ride on the TTA! What have we here? Is that a real space shuttle? Something's gone vertical... SPACE! SPACE MOUNTAIN! (For some reason, I look really tired in this photo.) The Carousel of Progress's sign is currently missing to be refurbished or possibly replaced. First sign of the return of the Flying Saucers, right guys? Tempting? Back to Storybook Circus... Not much visible work on this side of things, but... The metal support structure for the new tent queue area for the dueling Dumbos has been completed. It went up even faster than the new entrance at DCA! I'm guessing it'll be done and ready to open by next week... Pooh and Tigger have been meeting guests out front of the construction wall across from the ride, which is nice. Exterior work on "Enchanted Tales with Belle" continues to rapidly progress. The support structure for the soon-to-be-framed rockwork on the Be Our Guest restaurant has been installed. And it looks like Gaston's Tavern has also been framed. Rockwork is nearly complete behind Maurice's Cottage. That makes me Six. Things are starting to shape up quickly on this side of New Fantasyland! More facade installation going on at the far end of Beast's Castle. I still think it is pretty neat that they installed the castle facade long before the rest of the building's facade and surrounding work was complete. It looks like Mermaid has quite a ways to go before it is ready. Busy day, huh?
jedimaster1227
(Continued) Demolition on the Fantasyland Skyway Building has finally begun. I hope they at least keep the clock tower. I want to make sure it shows up in all three generations of my Back to the Future trilogy. Signage has been added to the Haunted Mansion queue, giving guests a better idea of what they are getting into depending on which side they choose. The queue is still busy... Here are some of the instruments from the Museum of the Weird side of the musical mausoleum. Supposedly influenced by guest comments, Master Gracey's tomb has been expanded to look like he could be laid flat as opposed to buried standing up. This is still my favorite part of the new queue. Some of the Haunted Mansion cryptograph for your pleasure. Some more new details presented without comment. Not sure if you knew this, but after the last major Haunted Mansion refurbishment (the one where the Escher stairs were added), the old staring portraits were added to the loading room. Captain Culpepper himself! Over at Splash Mountain, an amazing jet burst was on for the Summer heat. My friend had never been to see the Country Bear Jamboree before, so we had to go! Listen to the lyrics. Those guys at WDI (or WED) were tongue-in-cheek geniuses! Whoo boy... Every time I see this show, I appreciate it more. I would even go as far as to say that these days, I like it more than the original Tiki Room. Sleepy bear is sleepy? My favorite. The entrance of Pecos Bills is being refurbished. Work on the Enchanted Tiki Room continues as it is readied for its August return. Thanks to the summer heat, the Leaky Tikis were a popular attraction for the day. I call it an attraction because Hong Kong Disneyland does too. Time to boldly go where I should never have gone before... I don't wanna! Forward is the only way we can go now! I'm going to use the excuse that the next set of photos was done purely for the sake of Larry. Call me on my bluff. Me thinks you can still see the metal support structure in this "tree." jedimaster1227
(Continued) I finally know why all the rum's gone... And why nobody had found it until now. Hate to tell you, but this creepy looking spider wasn't a prop. Time for us to move, ASAP! I feel like this would actually be a neat place to watch the parade from. Mental note taken. New Fantasyland's crane is visible from up here too. The fruit looks pretty fresh. For fear of my caption being misconstrued, I'll leave it up to you. Blackbeard recently ousted Davy Jones as the resident waterfall ghost. Davy Jones will return later this year. The Jack Sparrow animatronic at the end of the ride has held up quite well over these last few years. Promotional tie-ins abound On Stranger Tides. So back we went to Disney's Hollywood Studios, as my friend had never before seen Fantasmic. I figured it would be a great opportunity for me to play around with my camera! Mickey's arrival for the beginning of the show. That's Mickey doing his "explosive Nixon." Seamless. Sorry California, I like this better. The world is a carousel of color... Here's where the fun begins! Burst mode is my friend. Isn't it the snake from the Jungle Book at Disneyland? Lord Malificent... Rise! Such a cool transition! Even without Murphy, I like this version of the show the most. Fire! Fire! Fire! Am I back at Paradise Bay? Here's where I started to play around with my camera's settings... 88 miles per hour! He's gone back! Where Doc, where? Back to the Future! Captain EO gloves are awesome! Tikli Moots Moots? You're just another part of me. Thanks again for reading! MayTheGForceBeWithYou
Isn't it the snake from the Jungle Book at Disneyland? *NERD ALERT* WDW uses Jafar as the snake, not Kaa like at DLR.
