imawesome1124 Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Okay then, I guess I'll share some previews of my stuff. My coaster is themed to this big medieval conquest and this "mini-park" is set in a large medieval town. SCR82.BMP Start of some theming. SCR83.BMP Delicious first drop.
Dotrobot Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Sorry, I just had to show you up . Just kidding lol. SCR54.BMP Lone Star Gardens entrance NCSO Style! SCR55.BMP
jjune4991 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 I....Eh....Bu....Wha.....Dang. I'm already in awe with those screens Dotrobot.
BelgianGuy Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Hello boys, care to have me whip something up for this, just for the freakin fun of it^^ I'll see what I can come up with on this... btw can I parkdat a supportblocker in this? I'll need it for some hacks
Stoksy Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Obviously unfinished, practically nothing is done lol but I wanted to at least show you all that I am still kind-of playing RCT2 And yes, I do only have 2 tunnels A little bit of the layout, going to be a mining theme... (sorry for the bad detail, playing with higher screen res.)
Thelegendarymatthew Posted November 5, 2010 Author Posted November 5, 2010 Hello boys, care to have me whip something up for this, just for the freakin fun of it^^I'll see what I can come up with on this... btw can I parkdat a supportblocker in this? I'll need it for some hacks Just take a roof and place it two tiles underground
BelgianGuy Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Its the best object for the invisible entrance huts hack so I'll use it anyway I knew about the suppblok with the roof but I didn't need it for that purpose...
Chrixz Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Can I make an entry as well? If so count me in
Dotrobot Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Whoa.. Gotta step my game up. The screens I showed won't even come close to cutting it in competition with so many big players.
dmaxsba2408 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 ^ , no you don't. This contest is for fun so don't worry about it.
Mochtroid Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 By design, do you mean like a new type of roller coaster, or an AWESOME design?
BelgianGuy Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 I won't show a screen yet but think Intimidator305 with my own little twist...
Thelegendarymatthew Posted November 6, 2010 Author Posted November 6, 2010 By design, do you mean like a new type of roller coaster, or an AWESOME design? Answer.
Stoksy Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Was thinking about scrapping my project last night, but this afternoon, I rediscovered my previous joy for playing and building RCT2 the way I wanted to... So I have a new picture for you all Overview, pretty much all I have so far
Mastersax68 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 These look pretty nice. I'll try to get a pic of mine up sooner or later... Maurer-Sohne+ Creativity= My Creation( pretty much)
imawesome1124 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Wow, my project sucks compared to what you guys have. I am beginning to think I didn't know what I was getting myself into, lol.
dmaxsba2408 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 if you ^ are being serious about thinking your project is sucking compared to others don't get discouraged. The main focus of this contest is the design of the coaster not the scenery. Just build the best coaster you can and don't worry about what others are doing. TLM made a great point system for this contest and even someone with amazing scenery can loose to someone with a great coaster design. So focus on your coaster layout and just let the rest fall into place. Non custom scenery parks are a huge challenge for everyone so don't sweat it. The most important thing is to have fun building and get your entry in on time, no matter how good or bad you may think it is.
paradisecoaster Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I got a question - my project is more and more turning out as a park and i wonder: is that ok if I build a whole park? and if I do, is it ok to have more than one coaster?
braztaz Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I got a question - my project is more and more turning out as a park and i wonder: is that ok if I build a whole park? and if I do, is it ok to have more than one coaster? I think I can answer that for you. This contest is specifically for one coaster, a design, so having multiple coasters isn't the best idea. What I suggest is building your favorite coaster for the contest, then expanding on it and making it a whole park.

I am very proud of my coaster design, and this is my first attempt EVER at theming anything so I wasn't expecting it to be great, but in some areas I am actually impressed with myself.
SoCalCoasters Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 This is actually only my second attempt at a true park, completely custom designed, so Imam happy with how it is turning out. I actually can build NCS better in RCT3, but have started to slide back to RCT2 for this contest. My coaster design took several hours to perfect, and it turned out great! Next I have to terraform (dj's favorite word) the park and then add foliage and the rest of the rides... Coming Soon: Twinfusion at Kasi Park Yes, Kasi is a real word. Coming Soon
imawesome1124 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Well I am just about finished, I just have to refine some theming for the coaster and work on the foliage and I will be ready to submit. Here is some progress... SCR84.BMP The heavily themed drop tower, Dungeon Drop, SCR85.BMP Here is the part where the coaster duels itself, (I didn't want to give away too much of the layout.) SCR86.BMP This is what I am most proud of, part of the theming for Castle Rapids.
SoCalCoasters Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 The only thing I would suggest is adding fences around the coaster, and the rapids. Also, it seems that rapids ride could use a little more theming. it's off to a great start, but it will look even better with more theming. Your park looks great, it just needs 1 or two small changes to make it go from meh to wow!
imawesome1124 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 ^ Advice taken. Good luck with your entry also.
