captain
Hello Guys, me and my wife would love to join the 2006 UK Trip, but we`ve the big problem that our companies will confirm our 2006 holiday wishes at the end of november. So how fast will the places sell out? And my other question is, what kind of hotels you`ll try to book? We are not the kind of guys who like to stay in youth hostels (I`ll age 30 in 2006, to old for crappy hotel rooms - omg - 30). Thanks for the answers Andy
Twister II
I can't do this one. But I do want to say, the flyer and the whole trip looks VERY planned out so far, and very professional, good job. Ill wait til 2007 when Im 17, but only if its in the US...
SharkTums
Hi Andy! My recommendation would be that if you are pretty sure that you will be able to go, to go ahead and send in the $150 deposit. (Remember that it is fully refundable until Feb. 1st if you find out you can't go) I don't think we'll sell out by November, but I'd hate to say that now and then have it happen. As for accommodations, there will be no hostels or PONTINS! The lowest end of accommodations would be a Travel Inn (similar in America to Holiday Inn's, similar in Europe to Ibis or Mercure's) They will all have A/C and full service restaurants. Our best accommodations will be the Alton Towers Hotel! Hope this helps, feel free to keep posting questions!

ParkTrips
^About 50-60 I think.. I was browsing the parks earlier... No the UK isn't enough! I would also like to ride Balder! Agreed. Flight prices are working out well from what I've found -- You can fly out of NYC for as little as $610 (including fees!). I'm going to check my student travel agency too, last year flights to London got as low as $200, but I think right now they are around $400-500, and I think that's from Atlanta, I'm not sure. Nonetheless, I am quite excited, now I just need my mother to get back in town to discuss it with her 8)
captain
Thanks Elissa. Another problem is, that the biggest worldwide sport event, the worldcup 2006 is exactly at the trip time in germany and I got some tickets for some games (they were hard to get: over 12 million requests for one of the 800.000 tix). I don`t know exactly the specific dates as I`m not in my office, but is there a chance for me to cut one or two days at the beginning or the end of the tour? And do you`ve allready planned the exact route (f.e. which park to start and which to end)? Thanks again Andy
OzCatter
Might not go. My dad quit his job for no apparent reason again. So I'm practilly out of money. Have fun though. -Cal
SharkTums
Yes, we do have a specific itinerary planned out at this time. We did not post it just yet in case we do have to make modifications. I don't know how we would work out leaving early or coming late onto the tour. If it turns out that is what you would like to do I will look into it more. Yeah like I said about airfare, early summer you really shouldn't pay more than $800 from the east coast and $1K from the west coast. Once we have the other board up and running feel free to post specific flights and deals you're finding!

captain
Thanks so much. I`ll first try to push our companies to decide about our holiday wishes and I`ll look on which dates I will attend the games and than I`ll let you know if there`s just the one way to leave earlier/come late or if we can join the whole trip (I really would like to) Andy
Twister II
Ok, umm question.... I just now told my boyfriend about this trip. He said that he would love to go, and take me along. But the thing is we are both 15. However I do understand that you guys arn't babysitters, but we are both very mature. So after running it threw with mine and his parents, they both say its fine, as long as we are just with other people. So....can we go? I understand if we can't, after all your not babysitters. And I would almost be 16 by that time (or 6months away). And I promis there will be no humping. Just kissing. SharkTums
^Trust me, I'm sure you're mature, and we know we wouldn't have to babysit you...it's more of a liability thing and this is what the insurance company told us we have to follow... 15 and under HAVE to have a parent/guardian. 16 and 17 have to have mass amounts of forms filled out to go alone. 18 and up you're good to go. My only suggestion would be if you can find any 18 year old that is 1) Willing to go and spend the money and 2) Your parents trust enough to sign over temporary guardianship to then you could go. Does that make sense?
Twister II
perfect sense. And if we did get an 18yo or older person, then what do we do?
SharkTums
^You'll have to either print out a legal document online, or go to a lawyers office to basically have both of your parents sign their parental rights over to this 18+year old temporarily. I actually did this one time when I went to England with some friends of my parents. They had to sign me over to them for the week so that they could make medical and all other important decisions. Justin Adams
Hey Justin!Yeah I would definitly partner up with you. The only hurdle now would be to run it by Rebecca. I'll let you know as soon as I find out if I'll be let out of the house! Same here. I have to run it by Jeanne, see if she's down with it. We were talking about a trip to Belize, but she knows how much I want to do a coaster tour of England so I think she'd be down. Worse comes to worse, I'll just dump her ass and go anyways. Just kidding. Let me know what's up, as I'm sure it would save a lot of money for rooms and stuff by partnering up. Justin
Prendies
Our best accommodations will be the Alton Towers Hotel! THE ALTON TOWERS HOTEL ROCKS!!!! If only i had the money to spare for this trip! I'm from the UK, so if you have any specific questions i'd be happy to help answer them
TheStig
Oh man I want to go! According to my momsey dearest, if I can pay for it I can go. In other words, I have to get a job but dont count me in just yet, it might take a little while to get the DP. But it sounds like a cool trip for the first one.... Canobie Fan
This might be off topic... But... After the trip is over if I were to say in London would I be able to get a hotel on my own being 20(I will be when this happens) And would I be able to take a bus line or subway to any other parks? Yes, you only need to be 18 to book at hotel room. 2. Thorpe Park, Chessington & Legoland are all easily accessible using public transport from London. What Now
^^ There is a Couch that goes from Hyde Park in London to Legoland. You can also get there via train from Paddington Station (or Waterloo). The train doesn't go directly to the park, so you'd have to take a Shuttle to Legoland from Windsor & Eton station (or Windsor Riverside). I believe there is also a line that goes directly Brighten (sp?) Pier.
