sspaz1000 Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I've been loving this post too. Just got a bit behind on it. All caught up now. Thanks for taking the time to post it all! nicole
thrillrider Posted July 30, 2010 Author Posted July 30, 2010 Thank you. I will try to get more on tonight. Been kinda buisy packing for the move.
thrillrider Posted July 31, 2010 Author Posted July 31, 2010 A short update today. I have an employiee by-weekly newsletter from last season. Front. Back.
thrillrider Posted July 31, 2010 Author Posted July 31, 2010 I forgot to add this old business card from riverland amusement park that used to be in sterling heights Michigan. The park was torn down a few years ago for a strip mall that was never built. The park had a handful of rides like a merry go round, swings, many kiddie rides, a coaster like the kiddie coaster at knobles, mini golf course, ferris wheel, and several other attractions. They used to have a tilt a whirl as well. It was a park you had to rent out, but it was open to the public on select weekends during the summer as well.
adamico2 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 That "alphabet finder" looks challenging, especially in black and white.
Chrisrad Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 This thread keeps getting better and better. Don't be discouraged that you're not getting tons of replies.. I check on it every day and have only replied once. Keep it up! It's awesome!
thrillrider Posted August 2, 2010 Author Posted August 2, 2010 Thank's for the nice replys. I just got home from cedar point, and I am exausted, so no update today.

thrillrider Posted August 3, 2010 Author Posted August 3, 2010 I could tell you, but I would have to kill you.
Geauga Dog Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I've really enjoyed your thread and a lot of that brings back many memories. You have quite a collect and just want to thank you for sharing. As for the videos, I have three of those that you've posted including the 1977 "Rollercoaster" movie. I must be a true geek.
bgwfreak777 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 PBS just recently ran Great Old Amusement Parks again, which means I've got it on DVD now instead of VHS. I've also got the Roller Coaster Thrills in 3D, I actually had the international version too at one time, no idea what happened to it. I still own a VCR and a turn table. I'm so retro.
thrillrider Posted August 4, 2010 Author Posted August 4, 2010 Lol^^^ I need to transfer the vhs, to dvd. I can't believe that they still sell vcr's at the store.
triggernel Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I thought it was kind of cool yesterday at Valleyfair! they had old CP Coaster Capital of the World pins, on a 5 for $5 table. I only grabbed Gemini, Raptor, and Magnum, mainly because there was some other stuff on the same table I wanted. Just wondering if you have ever seen these?
thrillrider Posted August 4, 2010 Author Posted August 4, 2010 I was looking for those at cedarpoint the last time I was there. They used to have a ton of different pins from all the cedarfair parks. The only ones they have at cedarpoint now, are just a few pins that say "cedarpoint". No individual ride pins anymore. I bought a shivering timbers pin at cedarpoint a few years back, but could not find a shivering timbers pin at michigans adventure.
triggernel Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Do you know if they came out with a new one every year, or if they came out as a set? And what about years when there wasn't a new coaster added, no pins?
thrillrider Posted August 4, 2010 Author Posted August 4, 2010 I don't think there were any cedar point "sets", but I do have a set of ace cedarpoint pins.
adamico2 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 What year was "Great Old Amusement Parks" released? I'm guessing is was sometime in the late 90s. I actually just watched it for the first time when it was on PBS a few weeks ago.
thrillrider Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 Sorry about the lack of updates, been busy packing for the move. I have a few things to share today. First, I have a park booklet from indiana beach. It is from 2000, and when you unfold it, it's as big as a poster. It has mostly info on the condos and cabins you can rent in the area. I also have an old blueprint of one of our old haunted houses we did years ago. Lastly, there is my old name tag from when I used to work at cedarpoint the first time. They now use the much bigger name tags. Indiana beach 2000 Hours This is the blueprint for one of our old haunted houses. Remember the old name tags?
