Kid arthers court and the aquariam. R.I.P white water landing Where did dragster go? I see jungle larry And I end this update with some cuddley geauga lake bears. We should have been moved in over two weeks ago, but thank's to building inspectors trying to flex there muscles it was delayed. Who knew that if your porch steps were less than a 1/4 inch off it would delay you this much. Â Anyway, I should be start updating this thread again in a few days with lot's more cool stuff like mean streaks s.o.p and white water landings press release. I have had a bunch of peeps asking when my next update was going to be, so there is the latest. Â Â Oh yea. Here is just a little tease of what's to come. It's an old geauga lake park booklet before six flags or cedar fair. In a few days, I will post some pictures of what's inside. This is from 1992. Geauga lake 1992. Geauga Dog
Thanks for posting those calendar photos. I remember having that as well. Even though it has snow I always loved the December photo, probably taken from Mr. Hyde. Â Mandarin Buffet was probably the best place to eat in the entire park. It was an ad for cleaveland's newest recreation park.....Geauga Lake park. Â Next up is a page from the behind the lines employee paper at cedarpoint. This is from the employee managment relations dept. It was the july 16'th meeting. It's focus was to deal with issues around the park and employee issues. braztaz
Just read the Cedar Point stuff on the last page, and wow. Looking at those old maps, you would never guess that a 420ft coaster would stand in the midway, or that a 310ft coaster would be right on the edge of the island...sheesh! Makes you wonder on where the next major coaster will be!
BigDipper 80
I actually have the 1996 version of that Cedar Point map you posted a page ago. It is quite possibly my favorite park map in my collection!
thrillrider
Today I present one of my favorite items.....The 1982 white water landing press release from cedar point. As you all know, it was removed for the maverick coaster a few years ago. Â This has all the info about the "worlds longest flume ride", and the crazy low prices of park tickets back in 82. Only $11.95 to get into the park back then. Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4 Page 5 Page
beatle11
3.4 million in 1982 was definitely a large investment for a log flume. It must have been a great ride. Although Shoot The Rapids looks like fun too and will get the chance to ride next year.
thrillrider
White water landing in it's hayday, ran circles around shoot the rapids. Â Been on shoot the rapids a few times, and got soaked. That was one of the great things about wwl....you did not get soaked. I thought shoot the rapids was "meh" at best. PREMiERdrum
White water landing in it's hayday, ran circles around shoot the rapids. Literally. The station rotated.
thrillrider
^Lol.... Â I am not sure why we are seeing the slow demise of the classic log flume ride. I have been on a lot of log flumes, and they have all had a good sized line.
thrillrider
I feel like crap today, so it's going to be a short update today. Â This is the 1994 six flags accommodations guide showing off the new for 1994 space shuttle America and 2 ticket price list's from 1994 and 1999. What a difference it ticket prices in just 5 years. There is a $8 difference in ticket prices, and a $17 difference in season pass prices. Â Parking was only $7 in 1999. It has doubled in just 10 years. Â It also look's like they no longer offer the "disabled" prces anymore. 1994 Accommadation guide front Back 1994 ticket prices 1999 prices....what a differance. thrillrider
Today I have an amusement park magazine from sept 1985. Â I don't know where I got this, and I have never heard of this before. Any input on this would be great. The magazine is in near mint condition and has several old pictures in it. There is also a great old advertisement for the mack bobsled on the backside. Â One weird thing that I see, is that the cover picture is of the ultra twister coaster at six flags great adventure. I never knew they had an ultra twister, I had always thought it was at astroworld. The cover with ultra twister from great adventure. The inside cover. A brief history of Disneyland. Some old Disneyland construction pictures. Some more Disneyland history. Sorry about some of the words being cut off. I did not want to bend it too much. Some history on the west edmmonton mall including info on the new for 85 astro base alpha ride. A few pictures. The first picture is of the coaster at the mall, before it was at the mall. The next picture is of a sub ride that goes/went thrue the mall. Is the sub ride still there? There was no info on what park these next pictures were from, but it looks like it may be cedar point. Now I see the cedar point above the first picture. Never noticed it untill I scanned it. Here is an ad/ blueprint for sellners "astro base command" ride. Here is some short storys about the "new" minnisota mall, and busch gardens. Here it is continued. Again, sorry about the fold....did not want to damage the magazine. Here is a picture of "Le Scoot" at bgw. Classifieds and some history. History cont.... On the back cover, is an old mack bobsled ad.
