Coaster101 Photo Contest

Hi all! Coaster101 is holding its third annual photography contest! Last year's was a huge success with nearly 50 amazing photos showcased. This year we are doing things a bit differently by introducing three entry categories. These categories are: Original (for unedited photos), Edited (photoshopped photos), and Humor (we'll see how this goes). You can learn more about these categories by clicking the link below.

We will accept entries through July 26. You can enter one photo per category. Voting will begin closer to the end of July.

If I have an edited photo of a ride sign, but the ride itself is not included in the picture, can that still be submitted? Thanks.

Hey guys, just a reminder that next Monday, July 26th, is the last day to enter photos in the conest. That gives you plenty of time this weekend to head to your local park and grab a few shots if you haven't been able to choose one to submit!

What is the size limit of the photos? I've shrunk it three times but after trying to submit the third time I got the following error: Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact administrator by other way.

Still doesn't work. Says my photo is too large.

 

ETA: I don't think files can be larger than 1024x768. When I submitted the original size it said it was too large, so I kept scaling it down until it did and 1024x768 was the first size it accepted.

Awesome, just submitted two, one for "original" and the other for "edited"...both photos were 800x600 in size.

Nicole, I've received photos larger than 1024x768 but I'll double check to make sure there isn't something else preventing you from submitting your photos.

 

TPR! We have received a good number of "original" and "edited" entries, but we are severely lacking in the "humor" category. I've seen a TON of hilarious photoshopped photos on this site. You don't have to create a new one for this contest!

I was just curious if putting a black border on the photo is considered "Edited", or if I could still enter it in the "Original" category?

No, a black border would not classify the photo as "edited." As long as the picture itself is unedited, that's all that matters.

Great contest, would love to see this one grow a lot bigger, would be really cool if it was as important as Mitch's poll to the community.

 

I had the winners of the edited and humor categories pegged, that cedar point pic is AMAZING.

^ I don't know if this would ever come close to the epicness of Mitch's poll, but it never hurts to think big! I think next year we're going to do away with the humor and photoshop categories and put more emphasis on true photography. I'm open to any and all suggestions! There's always room for improvement.
