Crazy4Coasters! Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 (edited) I got an email from AAA about this event at SFMM on Friday May 21st... (Exclusive AAA Member Event at Six Flags) For just $25 per ticket, enjoy a full day at Six Flags Magic Mountain on Friday, May 21, 2010 and stay for a private AAA member event from 6:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. The park will be closed to the public, and AAA members will enjoy exclusive use of the rides, shows, merchandise, and concessions. I was just wondering if they are any AAA members that would be planning to attend this event. Sounds like you can get some nice ERT after 6pm when the park closes to the public. I'll try to go and hope if others would like to join you guys can post in this topic and maybe get a group together for that day. Edited May 22, 2010 by larrygator
stricklandCC Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Definitely interested! 6 Hrs of ERT! Any idea as to how many AAA members will be attending? And I'm assuming its open to all levels of AAA membership? Lets try to get something together.
ebl Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I'm a AAA member, and have not heard about this. Even though I have an Xtreme Play Pass, it would be worth the $25 for the extra perks of more or less ERT after park hours. Eric
Crazy4Coasters! Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 I think you have to opt-in to recieve email notifications about events for AAA memebers. Sounds like a very good deal especially the after hour perk for AAA members. As this event draws near hopefully we will see if a group can get together to go.
ebl Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I should look into this. It sounds like a fun event. Eric
fatdaddy Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 i am thinking of going, still didn't get x2 outta my system, and somehow terminator keeps getting better, of course i gotta bring the kids this time, but they been doing 16 hour days at disneyland since they were born
scooterdoug Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I'm not a AAA member, but had been planning on going with a friend that day (Fridays in May are great for avoiding crowds). Any guesses as to how this could affect crowds? I'm considering moving my trip to a different day if this will make for a crowded park. Are my fears unfounded? Thanks! -Doug
BeachKidBoy Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 I was thinking of going. I am a AAA member and am ready for SFMM with such a low price and maybe non-summer/break crowds and ERT after some depression after WCB. Just wondering if it is just for AAA or several other groups at the same time. A lot of colleges 'gang' together and do this too, I know, I've sponsored them. Email me if a bunch of us joint TPR's and AAA's want to go.
BeachKidBoy Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Placed an email into AAA to see if this is an exclusive night for them, and also to see if someone can bring non-AAA guests. Also wondering what all will be open from 6-midnight.
BeachKidBoy Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Just received a reply from AAA. SFMM says AAA members can bring guests with them, just be sure the actual AAA member purchases the tickets. Also this is AAA exclusive, no other groups are participating in the 6-midnight ERT.
socalMAN123 Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Two weekends ago, I was at SFMM for Young Life Night there and we only had four hours. However, I did every single coaster in the park including four rides on X2, three on Goliath, three on Superman, and two on Tatsu. I am defenitely interested in attending this, especially because we are AAA members! Sounds like a great event. ---Brent
Sir Clinksalot Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Hmmm, this sounds interesting. Eric, if you end up going let me know. Maybe me and the boy will join you.
Crazy4Coasters! Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 Hmmm Eric, Brent and Gregg on board... sounds like it can turn out to be a lot of fun. I'm hoping we can get a nice group together that day. I wanted to post this event in advance so it would give people time to plan it out so no excuses ok kiddos.
ebl Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 ^^ Maybe I can get the girl to come along as well, provided she isn't scheduled to work. Diana hasn't been out to SFMM all year, so she may be interested. ^ Yeah, we could end up with quite a group, huh? Eric
BeachKidBoy Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I want to hang out with who's ever ( or is it, 'who evers, ? ) going. Let's all get together for a mini-TPR group at the AAA event! There seems to be seven of us, I make eight, so far on this thread.
fpsphil Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 I might be able to attend as well. Hopefully every single AAA member doesn't show up
CreditCrazy Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I also got this e-mail a couple weeks ago, and I'm definitely going to try to make it. It reminds me of the KROQ Night last year on that same day, in which there were 4 hours of ERT on Terminator, Deja Vu, Tatsu, X2, Goliath, Batman and Riddler's...which was awesome.
Chrisrad Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Oh wow.. I definitely want to go to this.. I am NOT an AAA member.. Can I join someone? I will pay for the ticket and then a few extra dollars just for the opportunity. Please PM, respond, or email: mustangparts65@msn.com Thanks!
BeachKidBoy Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Hey Crazy4Coasters, StricklandCC, EBL, fatdaddy, scooterdoug, socalMan123, SirClinksalot, fpsphil, creditcrazy and Chrisrad and anyone else I missed, let's get together and make this AAA event a mini-TPR event. I've got my ticket and a hotel for the night. Let me know if you need any help getting there or back or a ticket. This can be a great post spring break/pre summer day/night. lehmannjames@hotmail.com
Reon Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Timing fail. I'm really thinking about Bay Area Bash right now, and living in Cincinnati, I'd hate to waste a week just waiting for the AAA event. Then again, my work doesnt start in Coney until the last weekend of May. Still, I'd much rather just get a SF season pass this year and stay a few extra days to hit other California parks...
fatdaddy Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 anyone know if you have to buy tickets online or can you buy um there the day of, just wondering, might go, but wife cleared me for bab, so might go to that, might go to both
BeachKidBoy Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 There seems to be a few of us TPR's going to this. Anyone want to hook-up for a get together/dinner maybe right around when the park closes to the public and then becomes our private six hour ERT fiesta? We can make it a mini-WCB.
darklingscribe Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Count me in. I was sad that I couldn't attend WCB because I was in the middle of a move, but this looks to be the next best thing.
BeachKidBoy Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 fatdaddy: don't know if you can get them at the park, but it's so easy to just get them ahead of time and print them out. I emailed AAA a couple of times and they got back to me quickly with replies.
BeachKidBoy Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 darklingscribe and everyone else (I think there are about 11 of us who have mentioned going) let's get together either at the start of the day or also for dinner and make it a mini-WCB + two months. I'll be there Thursday afternoon through Saturday morning.
