Well. My partner and I will be there, Saturday the 17th, for our anniversary. If anyone happens to be there, We'd be happy to meet up for a little bit or grab a drink even. Just PM me if you'll be around

Posted

And Ill wave back with all the cash I saved.

And after two hours of waiting in the hot sun you can use it to wipe your tears.

Seriously though, go wait for Nitro around 5 or 6PM on ANY OCTOBER SATURDAY and tell me what you think of Flash Pass. The line routinely spills out the entrance and due to the fact that more than half of every train with exit passes and the Flash Pass line goes all the way to the bottom of the stairs the standby line will always exceed 3 hours.

But, why would I do that?

If I see the line is excessive then I will go ride something where it isnt. LIke this past weekend. Toro looked too long so I went to the teacups.

Mind you, four people did access the teacups before me by using their flash pass (WTF). Fortunately they did not take the green teacup I wanted.

The only exception being the last coaster of the day, where I dont mind a 1 hour line because I will ride well after the park closes. That was my plan for Joker but I screwed up park closing times

So you don't understand the appeal of having something that allows you to ride El Toro with no line instead of the teacups with no line? Especially if it's not a park you get to very often? I love the teacups... and when I get a hold of them they're the most intense, balls out, ridiculous thrill ride in the park with centrifugal forces that are laughably excessive but people don't come to Great Adventure to ride the f**king teacups.

Because Toro is amazing and the tea cups blow?

I love Toro. But when done right, the teacups are hands down the most intense ride in the park. I always leave them for last because the people Im with arent able to ride anything else after were done on the teacups.

I get the appeal.

I also see the appeal of a $6,000 first class plane ticket.

But Id rather take the money and spend it elsewhere.

Mind you, Im not advocating for more people to ride the teacups. Leave the line short for me.

You don't have to tell me. Generally speaking the ride has stopped and other riders are boarding by the time we stop spinning. Trying to walk off of those things without falling is usually almost impossible.

^ Unless you want to see what I had for lunch, dont ever ask me to ride teacups with ya bro.

I wouldnt say yes anyway.

Its a good thing the bathrooms in the ice cream building are nearby and so hidden

^^I don't ever see myself asking another dude to ride the teacups with me. I feel like I'd lose all of my man points as soon as I asked the question.

Does the Looper at Knoebels count?

Good lord that thing. That's another thing Brit doesn't ride with me any more. The fact that you can hold yourself upsidedown for like 5 minutes if you want just makes it completely sick.

I was so mad (jokingly) after riding the Looper! Rikki and I just couldn't seem to make it go the full way around! I felt like I had just done 100 crunches afterwards.

I also still think you are missing the point that if someone has been waiting 10 years to visit the park, and will not get a chance to go back for years.... it only makes sense to invest in a fast pass. You get to go to the park often. Why would you invest in in FP?

I think you are only looking at this from one perspective. Yours. There's a lot of other situations that warrant a FP.

Let me ask you this.

So I've never been to Great Adventure before. I won't get to go back for.. who knows how long. You're telling me, that the one time I get to go, September 17, I should not buy a FP?

Keep in mind I only can stay from open until 5 or 6 pm. And this will be on a weekend during Fright Fest.

My experience will be better without a Flash Pass?

I won't have to rush around to experience all of the rides without a Flash Pass?

I will be able to get in all of the major attractions, including re-rides, without a flash pass?

If I don't have a FP, what is the proper game plan to do All the big coasters in the park, as a first time visitor, and leave by 6 pm, without a flash pass?

I'd love to hear your genuine answers to all of these questions.

Ready?

GO!

You just have to know when to hit the bar. When it starts to spin the opposite way that you want to flip just slam on that thing and get ready to feel like you're about to die.

Just looked it up. Thats something I need to try. However, they need to go bigger.

The teacups have:

-Individual rotation

-Group rotation

-Entire ride rotation

The looper only has two rotations. They need another level of spin.

And then the entire thing should be put on a track and move at 45mph.

Welllllllll honestly if you got at opening on an *early* Fright Fest weekend like this one you can quite possibly knock out a bunch, probably not re-rides though. I did that both last year and the year before, and it was not to bad in the morning, we did not stay for nighttime when it gets mobbed. You'd have to knock out Ka/Toro and Nitro early and you could probably squeeze everything else in. It wouldn't be relaxing but I think its possible. The ultimate factor in all of this is you are likely not employed by the Psychic Friends Network and will have no idea what crowds are going to be like so its good to be prepared and have the money budgeted in case you need it (this is also why you really shouldn't buy a FP in advance in case it rains or whatever and is dead). If you don't need to get one - more money for food/drinks/whatever.

Buddy, its your money. You do as you wish. Some people spend thousands buying dolls. Whatever makes you happy.

Just know that if Im about to board, and you use your pass to cut in line into the car I was about to get on, well, enjoy the new refreshing taste in your unlimited beverage that you left in the cup holder.

Ok no, but I will give you a dirty look and you will feel bad.

lol. In all fairness... I do feel badly sometimes. But i try to remind myself... This was how I chose to spend ME money to enjoy MY trip. Don't worry. You won't catch me on the tea cups though lol. All you!

^^^Joke's on you, I'd never be caught dead with a souvenir refillable drink cup. Water is free at any food stand and you can't put alcohol in it and unless it's a mixer, soda is entirely useless to me and those cups look stupid.
