PhishyBrewer
Finishing off my case of Sierra Nevada Celebration. I'll be in Ohio for the weekend. I'm sure I'll be drinking plenty of good beer while I'm there.
DerekRx
Tonight marked a special occasion, but that's a story for another day from another person. Just a few hints though. Its no Serum, or Venom, but it'll help keep me warm tonight! and when I get home, its time for more Maryland brewness, the Hop-ocalypse Me and the Derekslayer AKA Serum XXipa (among several others) DuClaw? on a week night?? Rugged One
After month's of trying to get Derek to come to one, he finally was able to get out of work early and get down to Baltimore and enjoy with us one of the highlights of each month. The monthly DuClaw beer release. But this wasn't just any release. The last time Derek tangled with the infamous Serum, it tore him up good and left him for dead. Now the Serum has returned and Derek want's him some good old fashioned payback! Would Derek overcome his past hangovers and win out or would the Serum once again make mincemeat of his braincells? Let's find out... Derek's first DuClaw release was a rousing success. So much so that he's allready cooking up some nafarious lie to tell his work so he can get out early for next month's release. Thanks for reading. Actually, he remained very coherent and enjoyed showing off his Serum swag. OK, maybe he doesn't look that coherent... Psyche! He was just playing dead. Oh no, not again! Has Derek been slayed again by the Serum? It most defintely passed the "Hop Face Challenge", I think that's Kim's best face yet! It was really good too. They changed up the recipe this year, using a different hop varietal. It was less hoppy than last years but more sweet and citrusy. Time for Derek to get his rematch with the Derekslayer! Jim gets bitten by a snake in his "bathing suit area" and Bo is unwilling to suck the venom out. Now there's a new head brewer. The release video was a "Digital Short" (ala SNL) and featured head brewer Jim and his assistant Bo. It's the Naked Fish Chocolate Raspberry Stout of course! God, I love this stuff! Yes it is but first a preview of next month and of course the big question is "What Would Willy Wonka Brew?" ...and this guy's giant plumbers crack. Ugh, is it release time so that we can erase away these vile memories? ...some funny humor... ...Double IPAs... Trivia time. Of course it has to do with serums... ...while I attemtp ABV overload and get a Black Jack Stout before the Serum is released. Derek next goes with the one of my favs, the Bad Moon Porter... I went with the oh so spicey jambalaya, although Derek correctly pointed out that I should be boycotting all things form Lousianna this week. Kim even had a beer. A Bare Ass Blonde to go with her Venom fish and chips. Oh yeah. Just the best Pale Ale EVER! First things first though, we've got to get warmed up with some Venom! ...The Serum XXIPA. AKA THE DEREKSLAYER! Yeah, Derek has graced us with his presence this release for one purpose. To finally have his rematch with.... Of yes, it's that time of the month again. Only this time...something is a little different...

Rugged One
Troegs released it's fantastic Nugget Nectar to stores this week. God, this stuff is incredible. Straight up citrus and hops. Looks like I'm off to the brewery this weekend for a growler fill. The Troegs Nugget Nectar. Hmmm, I wonder what Derek will be posting tonight? DerekRx
Dave, we'll let you know when we go to the Naked Fish release so you guys can try to meet up with us. I believe its the Wed and Thurs before Valentines Day, so we'll probably end up going on Wed again. Tonight I decided to tap right into one of the brews we picked up after DuClaw yesterday. We hit it at just the right time, because the 2007 batch of Troeg's Nugget Nectar was just released yesterday as well. Awesome stuff, I just wish this was around year round instead of only in January/Feb. Oh well, they brewed a bigger batch this year, so it should last a bit longer. The Hop Head in me loves it! This is some really good stuff, the Troeg's Nugget Nectar, an imperial amber/IPA
mcjaco
OK, you tow have been hanging out way too much. This is like the fourth post in row where you're both drinking the same thing on the same night. All fear Derek, he has beaten down his mortal foe! I'd be drinking, but once again, I threw my back out.....as much as I love pain killers, I miss my beer.
DerekRx
Today I had a pretty cool task at work; get away from the job for a day to see how another practice operates, and the tools they use. Of course, its also the most feared and dreaded task, as the other practice...is in New Jersey! Luckily we learned a lot early on, so by lunch time we were on our way back home. Of course, hunger set in and we needed some food. Back to Maggiano's for us for some good Italian, and some beer for me. Followed by the Anchor Pale Ale. Hoppy and good First up, the Anchor Porter. Nice and creamy and some hints of chocolate
DerekRx
I decided to finish of my Friday a little lighter, only going for one more brew. But I made sure I made it a good choice, the Thirsty Dog Siberian Night, another imperial stout. And it was really tasty (or TASTEY if you're Fergie) Until tomorow! (which I have NO idea where I'll end up) Dark, chocolate, coffee, and hops, yum!
CoasterFanatic
Wow. The Troegs labels just keep getting cooler.
PhishyBrewer
Made it into Columbus last night. Ate at BW3's and had a Labatt. No craft brews on draft. Weird Having dinner at Rocky River Brewing company tonight after the boat show. So that should make up for it.

DerekRx
Yesterday was another day well spent hopping around drinking stuff. Of course, I just had to go with my fellow BACT local PA chapter. First stop was up towards Knoebels to Selinsgrove. after some merch pickups, it was time to call it a day at Selin's Grove for another couple of weeks. and my final brew at Selin's Grove was the Solstice X Dubbel, their 10th anniversary ale. Nice and Belgiany Heath's next brew was the Shade Mt Oatmeal Stout. Meanwhile Kim is just in awe of his drinking abilities Heath went with the meat pie, in another attempt at making Matt sad Ham and Swiss on a pretzel roll with some spicy mustard. Yum! Next up, I decided to get the St. Fillin's Barleywine on cask since they were running out for the year And the Razz Merry for myself AND Kim. You know its good stuff if Kim drinks it, being the DD and all and since we got there at opening, we could sit at the bar. Dunkelweisen for Heath, in a Hefe glass for the same price as a pint! There's always something good on tap That's right, Selin's Grove Brewing, one of the coolest places to drink ever Selinsgrove, this can only mean one thing... DerekRx
and on our way back to York, of course we drove right by Troegs. Since they were opened, we figured we'd stop in and get some free samples of Nugget Nectar fresh from the tap. Sweet and spectacular! and we finish the night off with the St. Bernardus ABT 12 60th Anniversary edition Dis stuff sure be good! That Nugget Nectar growler was taunting us, time to drink that next! This one's for you, Joey! Shalom! Next in line for consumption, the He'brew Jewbilation Definitely a unique beer. Smokey, peppery, and definitely chipotle. This would go really good with chips and salsa Then it's back home for more drinking. Up first, the Rogue Chipotle Ale When all is said and done, we've got plenty of Nugget to last us a bit More samples, this time Hopback and Pale Ale even Kim digs the Nugget. No hopface here and the Nugget is really tasty, even better fresh from the brewery Sadly, the Mad Elf is gone. But Nugget Nectar is on This is what happens if you arrive in between tours, the place is packed It's quite handy that Heath always has a growler in the car. It's time for a fillup! Rugged One
Well you would have thought that I'd be Nuggeted out after last night... You would be wrong. Hell yeah, this is the stuff! Rugged One
Just one of those cold, crappy, winter nights, where you just want to put something warm in your belly... The Great Divide Hibernation Ale does just the trick. Fantastic vanilla/caramel aroma to this one with sweet caramel malty goodness throughout. Yummy!
