Wow, its been awhile. OK, lets see. Sunday I had some Tecate while watching football. Then on Monday I tried something new that I'd been hearing about but couldn't find it. Luckily, they had it in Northampton.

As you can see, I have no idea what to think of this beer!

Still thinking about the taste

Then you enjoy the after taste and think about it.

Then you drink your beer. Tastes like beer.

First, you need to smell your beer. Smells hoppy

Victory Hop Wallop, a new double IPA, from the makers of Hop Devil. Would it be as good or even better than the old HD?

wife beater? you refering to the spirits ? in the world we live in to each of their own nothing is acceptable its the person who u are not the person who you are aspireing to be or the steps that you tred and follow in, we all have our own deamons that we have to slay at sum point or another in our lives. and ive allreday had to face my own im not saying that alcohol is a escape route from pain or what ever but trust me it helps numb the pain that is being enflicted upon u

What the hell?! "Wifebeater" is Stella's nickname, that's all.

I leave the demon fighting to Buffy, Van Helsing, Constantine and other certified slayers. I drink to wind down, take a load off, I enjoy the taste, people here expect it from me, and I'm of legal drinking age.

So anyway, I forgot to drink without TPR there to remind me, and I actually got work done on Tuesday. However, by Wednesday my liver realized it wasn't doing anything, and so I decided to have another beer I recently found and really liked!

^and here I thought you were posting to this board because you finally had another beer (or wine)!

Even though this thread may be for us drunken idiots, let's please all remember to adhere to the rules passed down from Robb and Elissa; try to be coherant, informative, and of legal drinking age in the country in which you reside when posting to this thread.

Tonight I went back for more Hop Wallop in another attempt to try and figure this beer out. What I came up with was the following:

1. Its very hoppy

2. It tastes good

3. Its easy to drink

4. Its extremely high in alcohol for an IPA

5. I still like Hop Devil better.

Doin' my best Hop Wallop label guy impression. He reminds me of a citizen of Silver Dollar City....

Let's try this one again.

Blasphemy! *Just kidding*

I really dig the Hop Wallop. It's like a lot of double/imperial IPAs. It does one thing (pucker your face with hops) but it does it real well.

Finally finished off the last straggler (hiding in the back of course) of a Troegs 12 pack. Now I need to chill up the second half.

Troegs Pale Ale. It couldn't hide forever.

Headed out to Beverages 'N More again today, couldn't decide what I wanted really.......the Sierra Nevada "Holiday" stuff looked real good, but so did Alaskan's Summer Ale (not sure why BevMo still had that, but were out of Winter Ale), as did a bunch of others........but I eventually settled on a few.

First off, Baltika Wheat Ale and corn dogs for lunch. Not sure if this was the right combo, but it worked out okay. Very mild tasting beer, but still tasty.....gets a "good" from me. I'd have it again too, especially because it's only $1.70 or so.

Baltika Wheat Ale (#8)

Second, pizza dinner, wait a couple hours, then a Spaten Pils. Okay tasting, but just my favorite kind of taste.....kinda forced down the last few gulps but oh well. Gets a well deserved "meh" in my book, maybe worth trying for others, but I'll pass.

Spaten Pils

Finally, ended the night on a Samuel Smith's "Oatmeal Stout". I had to get it because the name was just so cool, only got better once I popped it open. Hard to describe the flavor really, but it's kinda like molasses almost.......BevMo's website says "Extraordinarily rich with hints of raisins, citrus & chocolate!"......sure, why not, I guess that sums it up. Quite possibly the tastiest beer I've had, very different from anything else I've tasted too. Definately getting this one again, but I think it's better as a occasional one, so you enjoy it even more. Samuel Smith gets a "great" from my lucky taste buds, I'll be sure to "drink my oatmeal" in the future too!

Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout goodness!

We'll see how tomorrow night goes, got a Paulaner Salvator Dopplebock waiting for me.......if it's half as good as their Hefe, it'll be worth it!

Tonight's random selection was once again Hop Wallop by Victory. I think I really need to arrange the assortment in the fridge better, as I keep pulling the same stuff all the time until its gone. I will admit though, its a good beer!

Well, as promised, had the Paulaner "Savator Double Bock" tonight, quite good. In fact, good enough to edge out Paulaner's own Hefewiezen by a nose! A dark brew it is, with almost a smokey flavor, but whatever you want to call it, this one get's a solid "great"! This is DEFINATELY on my gotta get again list, and I'd strongly suggest it to others, if nothing else the 7.5% alcohol makes if good.

Heh Soren, I'll swap you some of that Beck's Oktoberfest for some of that Green Lemon. That looks good.

Tried a new one from Heavyweight Brewing last night. The Perkuno's Hammer Imperial Porter. This is a Baltic porter with a lot going on for it. Had hints of chocolate, coffee, fruits, and lord knows what else. I really dug it!

Perkuno's Hammer Imperial Porter from Heavyweight Brewing. An awesome name for a beer and a damn fine porter.

We went over to the in-laws today to watch a little NFL conference championship action. I invited my buddy Sam along as well.

On Friday, Ellen and I went out to a Peruvian restaurant in Stamford. It's a place we'd been to before and enjoy very much. Of course, I had to try a Peruvian beer. They have two kinds and this is my favorite. These photos were taken with Ellen's cell phone.

Here I am enjoying my Cristal. It's not the greatest beer in the world but still better than the big brewery domestic beers (Bud, Coors, Miller) in our country. Very light and easy to drink with a decent flavor!

Cristal, not to be confused with the champagne of the same name.

On Saturday, Ellen and I took a trip to her sister's house near Storrs, CT. There is located one of the greatest liquor stores for beer that I've been to and the best part about it is, they let you put together mixed 6-packs. So, I put together 2 six packs and on Sunday sampled two of the brews I picked.

1388322451_beer018.jpg.c824f050b393824f1e29c1295223083d.jpg

Dark amber in color, I was not too impressed with this brew. It's essentially a winter ale (they call it an English ale) with what appeared to be raisin and prune notes. Still, disappointing I thought for Shipyard, usually a reliable brewery.

Later in the day I tried a Shipyard Prelude Special Ale.

Clipper City has impressed me very much with the little I've had of theirs. This one was no exception! This was an excellent IPA with a very nice hop taste and not overly bitter. It was actually sort of spicy with floral notes. From start to finish it was

First up, Clipper City High Seas Loose Cannon. You'll notice the Hop-cubed on the side. Couldn't pass this up!

Which one to choose? Here is the line-up of one of my mixed packs.
