Double0Kevin Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Yeah, John informed me of that today. I've never been inside.
jray21 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 So far the trip has been AMAZING! That's a ton to John for everything as well! I ordered a crap load of food last night but ran out of time to finish it. It was the classic Peppermill, and the Nachos were some of the best I've ever had. Also visited the Stratosphere, and did all the rides on top. Those are seriously some messed up rides! Didn't do the jump off the side, maybe I'll do it eventually. Then we watched Blue Man Group. I really enjoyed them. The only time I saw them before was during a tough time so I wasn't able to enjoy it as much, but I was last night! Tonight, I got two rides on Canyon Blaster, then had dinner at one of my top 5 restaurants ever, NOBU!!! it's beyond amazing. It's worth every penny. It's been way too long since I've been to Vegas. I'll never go that long again.
Saldek Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Las Vegas Spring Restaurant Week runs from March 7-14 this year. None of the prix fixé menus have been posted yet but they should be up soon. Many of the top restaurants all over the city have some great deals for this event. http://www.helpoutdineoutlv.org/

Jew Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 See---more reason to go in January AND March!
jray21 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Wow, that would be amazing to go to! Between that and the Epcot Food and Wine festival, I'll have to start running marathons every month to be able to make up for all those calories.
Hercules Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I have to go to Vegas 3 times this year for work - June, August and October. Twice will be alone and once will be with a colleague. Should be interesting. Once will be for the World Waterpark Show in October.
Double0Kevin Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 ^ Great times to come to town. All the attractions (El Loco, High Roller, and SlotsZilla) will be open. Plus you get Fright Dome in October.
Jew Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 ^Well, at least SlotZilla should be open by then... It was supposed to open in June of last year, so...
Double0Kevin Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 The non-launched zip-line should be open in February. They have been testing that one and the launched one could open about a month later. Right now the High Roller looks like it will be the last to open in Mid-March. http://www.reviewjournal.com/business/slotzilla-could-be-open-early-february
Jew Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 I'll believe it when I see it. It's been pushed back so long already, I'm hesitant to believe there won't be more delays. Even their job posting doesn't have a solid opening date.
redmenace8 Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Hmm, I was just checking out the SkyVue webcam and things seemed to have changed a bit. It had been looking pretty forlorn, with some ragged tarps just blowing in the wind. Now the tarps are gone and it looks (it is night) like there is a crane on site, now. Anyone hear of any new developments?
Jew Posted January 17, 2014 Author Posted January 17, 2014 Probably just the contractor collecting their equipment...
Double0Kevin Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 That or they are preparing to tear it down. That thing is never going to happen.
jray21 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Yeah, one of the many projects in Vegas that continue to act like they are still on when everything points the other way.
gisco Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I would think nothing would happen to Skyvue until High Roller opens. If by some chance HR is a huge success then Skyvue has a chance at completion.
Double0Kevin Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 ^High Roller being a success is very likely. I can't see it not being a huge success. Everyone coming to town sees it and is curious about it, they all want to get on it. I may be a bit biased given my job, but this is going to be a solid attraction. As for SkyVue, the crane removed all the scaffolding and the rumors going around town is that they will be knocking the columns down. I'm pretty sure SkyVue is done.
Jew Posted January 23, 2014 Author Posted January 23, 2014 That plot of land would be perfect for MGM Resorts to purchase and turn into their own anchor attraction for that end of the strip.
Mr Stratosphere Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Just in case anyone cares, The Roller Coaster (Manhattan Express) At NYNY is closed until Saturday for annual maintenance.
Double0Kevin Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 ^ You know what I'm going to say. Haha. It's too bad that thing makes so much money, otherwise they could just take it out. I say the replace it with and Intamin Giga... Makes guest want to re-ride over and over... really make some money.

Jew Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 ^Your link is to Smith & Wollensky's from last year. Also a very good steakhouse in Vegas!
Saldek Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 ^Your link is to Smith & Wollensky's from last year. Also a very good steakhouse in Vegas! OOPS! Fixed that for ya! But I'll go ahead and leave the Smith & Wollensky's menu from last year so people can get an idea of what they offer for LVRW. http://www.smithandwollensky.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/SW_LVRW.pdf And yes, it is a very good steakhouse!
Mr Stratosphere Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I do think that the Golden Steer is the best place in town!!! http://goldensteersteakhouselasvegas.com/
Double0Kevin Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Bill's Gamblin' Hall is now officially The Cromwell. Looks like it will be a neat little place, though I'm not a fan of anything Victor Drai does. http://www.thecromwell.com/ http://www.lasvegassun.com/vegasdeluxe/2014/jan/31/gansevoort-who-caesars-execs-reveal-cromwell-giada/
