Cedar Points "Space Spiral" Question

I've heard of observation towers becoming drop towers and I was wondering if the Space Spiral at Cedar Point could undergo a transformation into a drop tower as well.

 

Are there specific factors in weather the change could happen?

Even if it is possible (which I'm sure it is, just depending on how much the park would be willing to pay), it would be a terrible idea.

It probably would be possible but I think there is better chance of getting a 500 foot wooden inverted looping launched coaster

It isn't possible due to the concrete support underneath the ground being unable to support a drop ride.

I think Scream at Heide Park used to be an observation tower. Space Spiral could become one I guess. I'd personally love to see it happen, maybe they could renovate that whole area of the park by removing Disaster Transport, making Space Spiral a gyro drop, add a new woodie, and fix up some of the buildings in that area. It really could become a nice area, maybe give it a 'boardwalk feel?' And wouldn't Space Spiral become the tallest gyro drop if it was to become one?

I'm not sure why this question matters, since observation towers are better than drop rides anyway.

I think that the Intamin drop tower at Gröna Lund was also converted from an observation tower.

Cedar Point already has a boardwalk.

 

And for the record, turning the Space Spiral into a drop ride would be a worse idea than dueling underwater flyers.

Yes there is literally a 'boardwalk' you can freely walk on next to the beach, but I think he meant a boardwalk themed section/area of the park, which CP does not have.

I know Intamin makes a combo observation and drop tower. The tower would have to originally be built as a combo tower, not an observation tower I would think. http://www.ridetrade.com/rti/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20&Itemid=38

^ I agree. No need for another drop tower. I like the observation tower...it makes for good photo-ops, and lets guests get a different perspective of the park.

The Intamin drop towers at both Heide Park and Grona Lund were converted from observation towers. I am sure that the one at Cedar Point could be converted as well. It seems unlikely that the foundation could be a factor since all of the governing loads would be from wind on the tower. I for one would welcome the changeover since I love these drop rides, and it would also be much more marketable than it currently is.
