Hotlanta Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Right now Food Network is airing Dinner Impossible where they have to cook gourmet food for ACE'ers for Raging Bull's fifth anniversary.
Mr. Starr Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Actually, the event wasn't for just ACE members, and it was to celebrate Raging Bull's tenth anniversary.
monsterfan99 Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Actually, the event wasn't for just ACE members, and it was to celebrate Raging Bull's tenth anniversary. Originally it was just for ACE members. But they eventually opened it to coaster enthusiast in general then season passholders. The food was good at the event and that comes from a picky eater. Even got to meet Marc Summers, who was a very nice person.
robbalvey Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Wait.... Let me get this right... There was an episode of... "Dinner: Impossible" for ACE MEMBERS?? L. M. F. A. O!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! OMG! OMG! OMG!!!! That must have been one HELL of a challenge!!!! I can just see Robert Irvine now "NO!!! THAT'S NOT ENOUGH GRAVY!!!! WE NEED MORE GRAVY!!!! THERE ISN'T ENOUGH GRAVY IN THE CITY OF CHICAGO TO FEED THIS GROUP!!!!" BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Ok, ok....I think I'm done. Wow...I hurt now!
SharkTums Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I caught the last 5 minutes of this episode earlier in the week, it was so pathetic to see some ACE member compare the food to "Maverick, that's a good thing, it's a great roller coaster"... Um... You were invited to a special event honoring Raging Bull and SIX FLAGS!?!?! Don't freakin mention a Cedar Point Ride!!!!
robbalvey Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 ^ Yeah, but that's just because people are idiots. I was on a conference call with Universal this week (that was going to be recorded and aired live, and they let us know about it) and some guy asked a question about Thorpe Park! WTF??? How stupid do you have to be to mention another park at something you have been invited to that's going to be aired live? Some people just don't think. Unless your question or comment about a competing park or a different subject is 100% valid or appropriate (And even then it's questionable if you should ask it), stick to the subject matter of which you've been invited to take part in! The PR department wants you there to help promote THEIR park, not mention other parks or other properties. --Robb "My PR advice for the day!" Alvey
larrygator Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Dinner Impossible: They should try cooking a gourmet meal that satisfies Elissa and Hot Fuzz. Now that's impossible!
monsterfan99 Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I caught the last 5 minutes of this episode earlier in the week, it was so pathetic to see some ACE member compare the food to "Maverick, that's a good thing, it's a great roller coaster"... Um... You were invited to a special event honoring Raging Bull and SIX FLAGS!?!?! Don't freakin mention a Cedar Point Ride!!!! I heard about that and screw those people so much. Six Flags gave them (my fiancee and I were there as well) a free meal. There was enough food for everyone to go through the line twice. There was bottled soda (poured into cups) with waiters there as well. Most people were happy with the event and said great things about the park. Then some dumbasses have to ruin it for the entire park. Too bad they did not have the time to go to all the tables, not just the loud morons. It is fun to know the event was for Raging Bull. I did not know that from the event, but it makes seance.
Jerrykoala2112 Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Did you happen to see yourself on TV? Maybe in the background or something? ^?
monsterfan99 Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Did you happen to see yourself on TV? Maybe in the background or something? ^? Not yet. The person DVRing for me has the Swine Flu, so another week until I can see it.
sfkk339 Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Someone needs to post a video of the ACE member comparing the food to Maverick...Please! This is hilarious!
tanthonyam Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 How do those ACE members fit on coasters if they are so big? What happens when they get turned away?
Meteornotes Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 ^An insane amount of bitching. Otherwise known as the typical ACEr response to anything. I haven't watched the episode yet (it's on the DVR), but I had no idea that ACE was involved until now. I'm shocked that one of them made an inappropriate comment. Some of the things I've heard ACE members say at park events over the years were appalling. Robb's example of the totally inappropriate and off-topic question on that conference call is a perfect example of this sort of behavior. Some people just do not get it... dt
kidcoaster 2 Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I caught the last 5 minutes of this episode earlier in the week, it was so pathetic to see some ACE member compare the food to "Maverick, that's a good thing, it's a great roller coaster"... Um... You were invited to a special event honoring Raging Bull and SIX FLAGS!?!?! Don't freakin mention a Cedar Point Ride!!!! How do we know he was an ACE member?
CorkscrewFoley Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Because he has gravy all over his disgusting mug.
kidcoaster 2 Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I said that bcause more just ACE was invited.
CorkscrewFoley Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I know. I just wanted to take a shot at ACE...Robb beat me to the punchline...
CorkscrewFoley Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Because other people do...I wanna be one of the crowd.
kidcoaster 2 Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 So you have no real reason? Than why do it? Good episode though. It was need seeing park food transformed to quality food.
Guest Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 How stupid do you have to be to mention another park at something you have been invited to that's going to be aired live? I know most of the people that were on that show and wouldn't consider any of them "stupid." A lot of them aren't members of ACE and were there just for the fun of it. Just cause he took a poke at the fact they were talking about coasters and eating doesn't mean you have to grill him, he wouldn't say anything to dileberatley take a shot at SFGAm.
CoasterJunkie Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 When did people become so sensitive to making fun of ACE members...that has been the norm on this site for years... Chill out people...its a joke.... Hubby found the Maverick comment amusing..he even asked..isn't that in Cedar Point...LOL
robbalvey Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 So you have no real reason? Than why do it? Good episode though. It was need seeing park food transformed to quality food. It's a joke.
