DougMJr
I think it is more likely that Darien Lake would just Scrap Cuda Falls and build another slide complex with the rest of the water park. But only when the time comes for another waterpark expansion, which I doubt will happen for a few years.

Or they would get rid of 'Cuda Falls and Floodgate Falls for a "dry" park ride or attraction like they did in 2001 with getting rid of Cascade Canyon for Shipwreck Falls in the "dry" park area. Although Splashtown is of a rather decent size it still needs more capacity due to the immense crowds it draws. I never quite understood why the water park was built where it is due to limited land to expand on. I guess the next step is to fill in the lake Big Kahuna sits on and build something there. ViperLover
I just couldn't see Cuda Falls going anywhere. The park can't move it due to costs, and they just refurbished the slides 3 years ago.
DarienLaker
If can't move or remove 'Cuda Falls, they could do a "mini" expansion of the Barracuda Bay area. The blue circle shows where the new water slide(s) would go. They would have be pretty small slides (not like kiddie slide size), but like a small 2 or 3-lane mat racer slide. The red X means that Sling Shot wold have to be removed for a new bathhouse. The red circle mean that Floodgate Falls' end pool and que line would be removed for a sundeck, but the rest of Floodgate Falls would just left as is because it's holding up 'Cuda Falls. ViperLover
I don't think that that would fit. It's just too big of a slide for there. Plus, construction crews would have a hard time building it.
DarienLaker
They could just simply leave 'Cuda Falls SBNO and leave for dead like Floodgate Falls and remove the bridge. But I doubt that would happen despite fact of Barracuda Bay/'Cuda Falls lack of popularity now, it's here to stay until the park decides to scrap it for a "dry" park attraction/ride. ViperLover
Why would they leave it SBNO? That would be extremely noticeable. The best thing to do is leave it open, because every time I visited the water park, there was about a 30-45 minute wait. I would call that popular. DarienLaker
^Maybe I just go to the water park early like when they first open for the day, hence why there's almost never a line for 'Cuda Falls. There's usally about a 30-45 minute wait on the Swirl City slides. Edited February 28, 2013 by DarienLaker
ViperLover
Yeah, I go mid-day, so lines are much longer. Swirl City can reach a 1 1/2 hour wait
DarienLaker
I made a joke picture of somebody sliding down Floodgate Falls in its current state!
DarienLaker
Here's the 1997 park map, and I thought they removed the train that went around Elk Lake that year, but they did move the kiddie bumper cars and Hoot 'N Holler (then known as "Nessie Coaster") to over near the then new Mind Eraser and I thought that Scrambler was added in 1999, but it was listed on the map in 1997. So, now I'm confused about when Darien Lake added Scrambler and removed Funtime Junction. Sources say that Funtime Junction was removed in 1997 and Scrambler was added in 1999, but this map shows both rides listed. If anyone can clear up the confusion for me, that would be helpful! SaraAB87
In other words they're trying to work with what they already have in the way of coasters. So here's a list of thing that Darien Lake should do with the coasters. . Viper - leave it as is . The Predator - a major re-tracking and new Millenium Flyer trains . Mind Eraser - a repaint, have both trains run, and put the mist back on for the entire season . Boomerang - leave it as is . Motocoaster - leave it as is . Hoot 'N Holler (kiddie) - leave it as is . Ride of Steel - a retheme/name, put the mist back on for the entire season, and a repaint . The former Batman coaster from Six Flags Astroworld - scrap it! I think they should revamp Hoot N' Holler so adults can ride it. Who's with me? If hoot & holler is the same ladybug coaster they have at marineland I am pretty sure adults can physically ride it as I have personally ridden it as an adult unless they changed something to make it so only smaller bodies will fit. There is also the infamous commercial with King Waldorf riding the coaster. The no adults thing would just be a park imposed restriction in this case. They won't let anyone taller than 54" to ride Hoot 'N Holler, unless you're a small adult who's shorter than 54", but MarineLand's ladybug they just have the 36" or taller rule. So I think Hoot 'N Holler is smaller sized Zierer Tivoli model that was made for small bodies only. I think Darien Lake is better off with another kiddie coaster for riders 36" and taller with no restrictions for adults.

This could be true, as I don't seem to remember a time when adults were allowed to ride this coaster but the one at marineland adults were always able to ride. Darien definitely could use another family coaster, but I guess motocoaster is the sort of family coaster of the park now.
DarienLaker
^I think they never let adults ride the coaster, it was always "kids only"! Motocoaster despite its 48" height requirement is the only thing that Darien Lake has to a "family" coaster. But I say they need one for the "in between" Hoot N Holler and Predator coaster, like a Jr. Boomerang, a Vekoma family suspended coaster, or an indoor family coaster/dark ride! DarienLaker
Sometime within the few years, I'd like to see Darien Lake put this coaster, if it's not "rotted" since it was SBNO since the park that it was in had closed!
3Mutts
^ People have said they have seen it test however I'm still not sure if it is economically viable to move it or if the park is willing to sell it.
Philrad71
^^Then they could just plop it down in pieces next to Shockwave so the two could talk about their past glory days while they rust.
DarienLaker
If the owner of the former Freestyle Park was willing to sell Time Machine to Darien Lake odds are that Darien Lake would not have it be sitting in rusted pieces like Shockwave/Batman. If they do get it they would have to get rid of 'Cuda Falls/Barracuda and part of the parking lot to make room for Time Machine.

DarienLaker
O.K. then, if Darien Lake decided not to get Freestyle's Time Machine coaster, they could just get something like this and put it in Galaxy Theater if they're not using again this year! Next might just be the year that Darien Lake gets a new coaster.

I think with Herschend managing the place, things like that would be unlikely, but then again Oz Cat rots. I think that's all still tied up in court and the manufacturers for each ride have liens on them. I think that's why nothing has left that park. If only they built that park as part of Hard Rock Casino's Biloxi footprint, It may have suffered a different fate.
