noahman Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I need some advice on Kings island in ohio. Im gona be going for two days. What all should i ride first . What rollercoasters have the longest lines. What places should i eat in kings island. And any other things you can add that can help me have a great time . Thanks
Erik Johnson Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I would go to Firehawk first, since that one has the worst capacity of all the coasters in the park.
noahman Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 i was thinking about hitting diamond back first (that ride looks awesome
Erik Johnson Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Just make sure you hit Firehawk first one of your days. Seriously, that line can get really nasty. Diamondback has a much better capacity, so its line goes quite fast. I am not sure if Son of Beast is back open yet, but that is another one that has a slow moving line.
ginzo Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 i was thinking about hitting diamond back first (that ride looks awesome  Listen to Erik. *Everyone* runs to Diamondback first. The Diamondback line dies down later on in the day because it's such a people eater.  You're much better off getting Firehawk and Flight of Fear out of the way first thing.
noahman Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 Where should i eat at? The restuarents look so good on kings islands website
Homeboy23 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Listen to the poster above. Hit Firehawk first, then go over to Invertigo. After that you can have a run at whatever you want. Â Trust me, the line for Diamondback moves quickly and you will never have a problem with it. Â Edit: Looks like I took too long, another poster beat me to it.
noahman Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 I have question about parking should i get there early so i can get a good spot. Also how much does it cost to park.  I think what im gona to is firehawk, flight of fear, vortex and then work my way from there   Do you get really wet on the diamond back splash down ?
slither37 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 In reverse order. Â No you will not get wet at all on Diamondback. Â Do you have Platinum Season Pass? Â I agree with the advice to go to Firehawk first. FOF and then Vortex rather close to each other. The line for Stunt Coaster can get long as well, which I NEVER wait for if it is longer than the bridge. Â Parking is 10.00, preferred, close parking is 15.00, IMO not worth the 5.00, but I never have to pay for parking. Â Food: I believe Wings, between Diamondback and Beast is still all you can eat. They have some Montgomery Inn BBQ in there so it is very good. Â Panda Express in the Festhaus is good as is Skyline Chili near The Racer. Of course, you can have this anytime. Larosa's pizza is served in I think 3 locations and this is not too bad. Â Last time I was there, wristbands allowing you unlimited drinks were on sale in the Festhaus for 10.00. Very good bargain for both days.
CreditCrazy Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I agree with everyone that said to do Firehawk and Flight of Fear first on one of the days, then do Invertigo first on the other day. Make sure you eat at LaRosa's Pizza and if you like ice cream, Graeter's is good.
noahman Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 are you sure you dont get wet on diamond back i have an i phone and cant afford for it to get wet lol ( do they have a place where i can store my stuff (in the coaster station ) (
AmyUD06 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Are you going on a weekday? There's no way you could possibly need two days to do this park. Â I went last year on the Wednesday before 4th of July and rode every coaster and some flats by 4 PM (got there no more than 15 minutes after opening at 10). And weather was great. Granted that was without Diamondback, but that will add an 1-1.5 hours at most to the trip. Even if you were to do their water park and re-ride some coasters, you should be fine with one day.
noahman Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 Im going this weekend saturday and sunday  when should i ride diamond back; i hope the lines never get this long lol
ginzo Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 are you sure you dont get wet on diamond backi have an i phone and cant afford for it to get wet lol ( do they have a place where i can store my stuff (in the coaster station ) ( Â You can get wet on Diamondback if you ride in the very back seat and stick your hand out to the side into the water. Other riders can potentially splash you in this way. I doubt this is going to have any affect on your iPhone, but they have bins in the station if you want to use them.
noahman Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 i hope no one will steal it lol, do they have a l.o.c.k.e.r in the station people can use
AmyUD06 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Just keep it on you in a pocket. If the phone is really worth the ridiculous prices Apple charges for that feature-deprived gimmick, it can handle a little splash.
noahman Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 i will put it in a zip lock baggy  is the Rivertown Junction Dining Hall a good place to eat
DBru Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Definitely DO NOT go to Diamondback first...you will regret this. I would get to the park at opening, do Firehawk first, then Flight of Fear, followed by Backlot Stunt Coaster. The 2nd day, go to Invertigo first, and ride everything in the Action Zone area after that. (Drop Tower, Delirium, Flight Deck, and SOB if it's open). Â Panda Express is my favorite place to eat in the park, and you get a TON of food with the 2-entree plate. Do you like Chinese food? Â Can anyone confirm that you can buy wristbands for free refills at the Festhaus? (I'm going to the park next Thursday, and would really like to take advantage of that deal.) Â Get in line for Diamondback on Saturday night around 8:45pm. The line should allow you to get in a great night ride, and still have time to run over to The Beast, which is one of the best coasters you could ever ride in the dark. If you ride it in the daylight and find that it is slow, rough, and boring, DO NOT avoid riding it later. The Beast is transformed into a completely different coaster when night falls. (No, not literally...) Â Sunday, get in line for Adventure Express around 9:15pm. While it isn't the most exciting coaster around, its setting makes it a really fun night ride. After this, run back to Rivertown, and finish your visit with another great ride on The Beast. Â Have a fun trip! Â (And out of respect for us other members, please use capitalization and punctuation so we can make more sense of your posts. Thanks!)
noahman Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 Thanks for all the advice guys. Im so excited. I hope my paycheck is enough ,so that i can go. LOL
DBru Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I believe tickets are only $22 if you buy them at one of the Krogers in the area...(which is a VERY good deal!)
FeelTheFORCE Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Definitely DO NOT go to Diamondback first...you will regret this. Â To each his own, but this is against my philosophy. Maybe I'm superstitious, but at every park I go to I ALWAYS do the brand new ride first thing. I don't want to put it off because it's too crowded or whatever, then come back later only to find out it's broken down, and remains down the rest of my trip.
noahman Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 Online they got a good deal for two day tickets.
FeelTheFORCE Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 My luck I'd come back and the lift chain would be broken or something.
