kentuckycc Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Wait are these going to be additions this year? Or next? If they are announcing the attractions right before opening, they wouldn't open for awhile.I think they should announce them Feb. 7th. Are we 100% sure they are new attractions? I mean I saw the news report, but local news stations have shared some misinformation before about KK (recently they mistakenly said the twins and lightning run were to become one coaster).
mikeykaise Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 T3 & Raging Rapids are rehabs from the park being closed for so long but they'll be open again for the first time in a long time in 2015 and then the other 3 will be brand new rides.
CoasterCard Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 To clarify what was said on the news last night, there will be 3 refurbished rides opening (T3, Rapids, and Enterprise) and 4 new rides (Cyclos, SkyCatcher, and 2 unannounced rides). I believe we won't hear an announcement on what these 2 other rides will be until they wrap up the details of the tax incentives that KK will be receiving. Not necessarily when those are finalized, but when they are told "Yes, you are getting X million dollars in incentives." I think the park may have expected to be told that information yesterday in meetings, but when they didn't get to that point in discussions, they decided to hold off on saying anything yesterday.
sfkk Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I wonder if they will put something in the rainbow's old spot. That area has been empty for a while now.
TheSkysTheLimit Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I did not expect for the KingdomSeven announcement to be new rides considering they already released their park map for 2015. I cannot wait to see the updated map and see whats in store for the area around T3.
grsupercity Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I dont feel like back reading 100 pages. Do we know about the new trains on T3 yet?
Lareson Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Nothing too much has been said about the trains, but from what I remember, there's a chance they're not going to be Vekoma. There's only a few manufacturers that could build new chassis for this SLC, but really Vekoma or Kumbak are really the only ones that could make decent trains for this, unless they decide to bring in Premier to design the train, then we're all in trouble.
lbeeler Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) just looked over the comments on the KK FB page. and the Responses that they’re giving are very interesting I think were about to get a big surprise!! Edited January 16, 2015 by lbeeler
Midgetman82 Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 I wonder if they will put something in the rainbow's old spot. That area has been empty for a while now. It's a fairly small space too. It'd be interesting to see what could get put there... are there any Fabbri Boosters or Mondial Turbines in the United States?!
sfkk Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 ^ The only reason i'm thinking it will be that spot is because they seem to be trying to fill up the front side of the park before they move onto the back. Cyclos and all of the new rides last year were on the front side.

I bet one of the new rides goes by bluebeards bounty or whatever the pirate ship is called. Might as well finish off the last open, easily accasable spot in the front of the park so they can start landscaping and stuff. It's all dirt right now.

kentuckycc Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 The dragster area is perfect for some good flats, but I could see them holding off on opening that up with the twins. What rides would go good? I want one crazy flat that is new to america. Cyclos will be an awesome addition no mater what
Midgetman82 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I'm equally excited for both flats. Cyclos will be pretty thrilling and something the other (*ahem*) competing parks don't have. But let's not forget the 130 foot tall star flyer, Sky Catcher. The roughly 60-70 foot one that comes to the Kentucky State Fair (which I'm certain is the one GIF'ed on KK's website) has always been a fan favorite because of how smooth it operates compared to other rides while still being somewhat thrilling, and it'll definitely beat out Holiday World's 67 foot tall model.

Cyclos will be an awesome addition no mater what Reason I say that is because with T3, thunder run , and the Raging rapids open that area would be just empty between thunder run and RR. It would make since that something would go there and open up that path under thunder run.

I also wouldn't think that area would be entirely empty considering there's plenty of foliage, and the fact that it wraps around, and slightly under, Mt. Slide Hai.

The path that goes under TR is normally blocked off but if they open it it can loop to RR and T3. But to get there you pass the dragster area and if they put something in that area it will be perfect.

Might as well finish off the last open, easily accasable spot in the front of the park so they can start landscaping and stuff. It's all dirt right now. Not all of it. I made another stop by the park today and had more time to look at some things. There's short, fuzzy grass that has now grown under Lightning Run! There's been a lot going on in re-fencing what seems to be the perimeter of the entire front-half of the park, starting (and having completed) with the area around Lightning Run. Plus they're starting to set up extra fencing around the bottom of Lightning Run near wherever the track comes close to the ground. Lastly, I heard a lot of activity and movement coming from the area where Sky Catcher is going (couldn't see it from outside of the park), so they've definitely (technically) started groundwork construction on it. The best I could do at the time was with my camera phone, as I had forgotten my DSLR's memory card at home... Hard to see, but there is definitely grass now. It's slightly greener on this corner compared to the opposite corner of the ride. New extra fencing going up around the lower perimeter of Lightning Run. Less trees in the way of a particular favorite viewing angle of mine for this coaster. A new viewing angle of Lightning Run opened up thanks to the new fencing and the removal of some buildings and trees!
MIAfan88 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Looks like an area for a new flat ride. Maybe the 6th or 7th ride from the teaser.
aaron88stang Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 There is a pretty big chunk of land there. I was looking at it last summer thinking it would be the perfect place for expansion. Its highly visible from the parking lot and was an eyesore last season. Plus the path just dead ended there.
ratdogg68 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 That is the highest height restriction in the Park. They can build up to 200 feet in that area. Could do something tall in that area for sure.
Diamondbacker27 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 This would look amazing on the skyline in my opinion. How much do these cost anyways?
