Philrad71 Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Anthony Mason - former NY and Miami Heat NBA star dead at 48 Link
Garet Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 R.I.P. Terry Pratchett, thanks for taking the time to talk to all of us personally instead of just signing and carrying on to the next people even when the lines were hours long.... It was an unforgettable day
larrygator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 ^Chuck you beat me to it. The Gong Show was so great because it was so bad. Gene Gene the Dancing Machine was a huge part of that. How many drugs were used during the filming of that show? Oingo Boingo first national TV appearance was on the Gong Show in 1976.
Meteornotes Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 The Gong Show was amazing entertainment. RIP Gene Gene. dt
Philrad71 Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 I wish that we had the Game Show network so we could watch some of those old game shows. Stupid Time Warner Cable with their over-inflated prices and lack of good programming.
jray21 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I loved the Gong Show, and Gene Gene the Dancing Machine!
Nrthwnd Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I just found out, Entertainment Weekly is releasing a special tribute issue of Leonard Nimoy. Supposed to be on the stands now, or soon. Hope to find one, fast.
Nrthwnd Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Gary Dahl, creator of the Pet Rock, dies at 78 in Oregon. I used to have a pet rock. But it eventually died. Cremation was difficult.
bert425 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Way too young at only 52, but Suzanne Crough (Tracey from the Partridge Family) has died http://www.ew.com/article/2015/04/28/suzanne-crough-dead-partridge-family
bert425 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Also passing today, was Jack Ely, the lead singer of the Kingsmen. you know him from this: [youtu_be]https://youtu.be/4V1p1dM3snQ[/youtu_be] http://www.ew.com/article/2015/04/28/louie-louie-singer-jack-ely-kingsmen-dies-71
cfc Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 ^The best song ever with mumbled lyrics that no one can decipher.
cfc Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 We lost Spock--now Yeoman Rand. Rest in peace, Grace Lee Whitney:http://www.yourcentralvalley.com/story/d/story/breaking-news-grace-lee-whitney-janice-rand-of-sta/59006/FOK2_p3fKUezOgKbksZ8_A#.VUaxrBQWwMo.facebook.
gisco Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I didn't know she lived just a few miles North of me. RIP.
Philrad71 Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Big loss of THE true Blues legend...B.B. King B.B.King
gisco Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Earlier this week my mother in law was talking about a friend from her exercise class who past away suddenly, Grace Lee Whitney!
cfc Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Betsy Palmer died last week at the age of 88. She appeared mostly on TV, but you probably know her as . . . Jason Voorhees's mom in Friday the 13th. So, if you live near Crystal Lake, you might want to be extra careful. I did see her on stage in New England once, performing Love Letters with Gavin "Love Boat" MacLoed.
cfc Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 It is a dad day for fans of horror, fantasy, and sci-fi movies. Christopher Lee has died of heart failure and respiratory problems. He was 93. Many of you know him, of course, as Saruman in the Peter Jasckson's Tolkien movies, or perhaps as Count Dooku in Star Wars. When I was a kid, he (along with Bela Lugosi) was . . . DRACULA!
bbomser Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I was just about to post this. I was surprised to read that he was the only member of the LOTR Cast to have actually met J.R.R Tolkien.
