PKI Jizzman
Hey TPR! Just got back from my trip to Indiana Beach, and what a park. It's an experience. You all need to go there now!!! Coasters: LoCoSuMo - Wow....wow. You need to ride this to truly understand what's so unique and odd about this ride. It does things you never thought a coaster would do! Galaxi - An oldddd Schwarzkopf. It's awesome! Helix and airtime. Tig'rr - Another Schwarzkopf. A really cool coaster I've been wanting to go on for quite a while...it's very different...not many are around anymore! I thought it was very fun. Hoosier Hurricane - I thought it was a fun ride. It's got beautiful views...it was fun. Good, not great. ----- Cornball Express - My new #2 woodie. What a fantastic coaster! Buzzbars freaking rule. See pictures below that show the wheels OFF THE TRACK...the airtime is crazy on this ride. I found myself standing up half the time! GREAT coaster. A top ride. Steel Hawg - Ummm....holy crap. A super fast, steep lift; 120* drop that's nearly an inversion; ejector air; CRAZY outside curve; half heartline role into half loop; ejector air; CRAZYYYYYY downward heartline roll into a turn around. Wow...what an insane ride. I loved it. The elements were taken at the perfect speed. Not too long, not too quick. This is a top 15-20 coaster for me. **DR. FRANKENSTIEN'S CASTLE** - For all those whole skipped this when they came....turn around and do this 7 minute walk through. Classic scares, surprises, and things you just HAVE to see! Flats, darks, water rides, and more. This park has it all!: Double Shot - Broken down...sadness! Sea Dragon - Viking Ship with floaty air on every swing...I loved it!! Flying Bobs - Complete with an awesome enthusiastic ride op! Falling Star - Laterals, airtime, classic ride! Paratrooper - Yup. Splash Battle - Looked okay, didn't ride. Water Slides - Two of the ones outside of the waterpark. Did one! Water Swing - A MUST! AWESOME RIDE! Den of Lost Thieves - Interactive shooting dark ride. Sky Ride - Beautiful views Great Wheel - See above. Paddle Boat Excursion on the ....Indiana Beach Boat. It was scenic. Log Flume - Not so wet, it was fun. Scrambler - Yep! Flying Eagles/Crows - SNAP! Yeah, check out that list above. All star cast. Park Staff: Sometimes I couldn't understand them, some were very enthusiastic. A very park knowledgable crew. And now...one of my favorite parks; Indiana Beach. Enjoy, and be patient with the updates! It's a small update for now...I couldn't sleep, but now I can! More tomorrow! -Zach Looking down on Hoosier... Most people look at the park, I say look at all the lake view homes! What a view they have. It gives an idea of what the park's like. Almost like a mini Cedar Point size/layout. In true 'ride all the rides now' fasion, we hit the low capacity ones. Yay antique cars! Here's inside Hurricane's station. Dueling wooden coaster action. Heading up to the station. I had no idea which track went where at this point. It was everywhere. Hurricane! hm...which one first... Bars, bars on the windows to keep out the homeless traffic. What you can see from the queue....not much! The first coaster upon entering. Wow. What a ride! It's like we have the park to ourselves! It's 10AM, and time for some coasters. Looks like there won't be any lines! We'll be there in a few to see!
angryemobeaver
Nice photos so far Jz. I really want to go to IB now. Galaxy isn't actually a Schwarzkopf, it's an S.D.C. Easy mistake though, for many years I thought Bavarian Beetle at KI was a Schwarzkopf! But anyways, Can't wait to see the rest of the photos! PKI Jizzman
More... Evac update ONE of TWO: -Our second ride on Lost Coaster. We get to the part where you stop just for a moment before the old guy explodes the dynamite and you drop into the double down. And we stop. I'm still not sure if it's apart of the ride until the animatronic turns off. We wait for 15 minutes or so and a maintentance dude comes to a pannel next to us and says "Ya all clear? Oh, well here they go!" And release the brakes. So he had to find us in SUPERSTITION MOUNTAIN! If you see me in the picture, James Dillaman took it! Time for a lunch break. Ribbon fries with cheese and bacon. Mmmm. And a break from this TR with Ramen! Hey Cameron! Lake Shaffer water soaked ass. Something feels funny... Here I come! Hey JZ...go ride that! The Skyroom Restaraunt Cornball and Hoosier Awesome helix surrounded by waterslides! Weee airtime filled first drop! Lazy river of lulz. Galaxi! A fun little ride. Smooth. Crazy waterslides and the down Double Shot =( Cornball's AMAZING twisted mess of track. A look back to the front of the park. Coaster on coaster action! Steel Hawg heading down the ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY DEGREESE drop! And now....Cornball Express! Here's the 'train' going through it. Yeah, wierd, jerky ejector air. JERKY! CRAZYYY lost coaster track. Lost Coaster heading up the elevator lift Hurricane from the Sky Ride. I love sky rides! So was Mike. Oh, James was there. Indiana Beach doesn't have room for trees, it only has room for new rides! Can you spot FIVE out of SIX coasters that IB has? Mmm....Steel Hawg hiding in the backround. It's a good ride, but it's not great. I had a lot of fun! Up and over the hills. I wish I could say they're airtime hills...but they almost are. Turning around for the way back. Coming out of the drop and turning around at the end of Indiana Beach. Getting ready for the drop under the bridge! First little airtime hill after the first drop. Weee..look at that backround! Right, left, then drop into the lake! Hoosier has a funky pre drop. I think Lost Coaster might actually end up here during the ride. Just..jumping off the track. An idea of the main midway. Lots of rides. Hurrican is on the water! An art shot already?! Lost coaster! Hoosier Hurricane track Two of their big wooden coasters
jamesdillaman
LOL, I like how you tried to get me to ride the waterslide... I said no. -James Dillaman EDIT: What's taking you so long. Post the rest of the photos, already! Geez.
Marcio
Great TR, JZ! Indiana Beach is one of the US parks that I wanna visit someday. Nice to read your adjective (CRAZY) for Steel Hawg's outside curve. That really scared me when it was being built, but now it looks cool! Thanks for the pictures!
PKI Jizzman
Thanks guys! Words can't really describe a ride on Steel Hawg. All of the elements it has are different, new, and unique. It's something that's a must ride! Just a quick update I'm leaving for work in a few... Airtime can be scary when there's hardly anything holding you in. Dueling coasters! That would be Lost Coaster track. Oh, that's why there's nets. Off to rescue the Pirate Princess? I hope not. Hoosier Hurricane flies overhead Cornball Express! It's a quick lift. Cornball's lift. This viking ship rules! Dr. Frankenstiens Castle! So much fun. Beats any other walkthrough Got head? NOMNOMNOMNOM...ugh, it's gone. FEED ME CHILDREN! BREADSTICK! OMNOMNOMNOM Is the a breadstick? Hey Bob, what's that on your head?
Reon
Hey JZ! Glad you had fun at IB. Sorry I couldnt make it, but I had college stuff to take care of. It sucks that Double Shot was down (awesome fun tower), but you still got all the rest of the good stuff in so don't worry about it. Was the simulator still there? I looked in the overview pic by the towers, and it used to be in that area... -The me

jamesdillaman
Well for us, it was 3.5 hours from Cincinnati to Monticello, and 4.5 hours from Monticello back to Cincinnati... Maybe JZ will post pics at the end as why the drive home took an hour longer... It isn't a bad drive at all from Cincinnati. -James

tedten
Now I'm supper excited for Cornball in the backseat! I was hopping to see pics of your evac. That's so aweosme. I've had some weird experiences like when they stopped vortex on the lift hill to tell someone to put out their cigarette and that smoking was not allowed on rides at KI, but never an evac! Also if you think logansport is a weird name that's not the half of it. It's a highschool in Indiana I played soccer against. They're the Logansport Berries. And if being Berries isn't weird enough guess who their mascot is. Felix the Cat! not even kidding: http://lhs.lcsc.k12.in.us/ If they get Felix then I want Bugs Bunny or Mickey Mouse... Anyway, awesome pics as usual! I'm Looking forward to the rest & I'll hit you up before long.

Cameron
how long of a drive was it for you from where you live? One should never need to ask that question, since the answer is built right in to their theme song: "There's more than corn in Indiana, it's a great part of Americana, and it's right within your reach, it's Indiana Beach!" Great photos, and well done scoring that free pass since you'll need to return to hit the Double Shot! (It was closed on Sunday when we were there, too - which is odd, I've never seen that thing down). Cameron.
