PHOTO CONTEST! – Show me your favorite theme park/ride shot!

^^^/^^Are you not yourself just a teenager?

Assumptions, well we all know what assuming does. What if they have family in Mizzou? Or already had a trip planned? Or Like myself are getting a new job and moving soon? Or what if they had a cross country trip planned and now have a stop? Or what if they have rich parents who will fly to mizzou on family vacation?

One valuable life lesson to learn and attempt to learn ASAP in life is that thinking of possibilities before speaking sometimes keeps you from looking like an ass......nothing personal you just spoke up so you get the speech.

Okay, note the, "I'm just stating a theory so nobody bite my head off." All I was saying is that, most people who posted pictures live nowhere near the park, I didn't say, "omg, give it to me, ME, MEEEE." It would just make more sense seeing as how most of the people who posted live a lot more than 9 hours or so from the park, and it really isn't worth that long of a drive.

I made an assumption, I'm sorry.

And yes, I am a teenager, but note I said I drive down there four times a season, by myself, note the age. I'm just trying to make sense of the situation, because giving it away to someone who live in Kentucky, or California just seems odd, since they live 9 or more hours from this small CF park.

^^^/^^Are you not yourself just a teenager?

Why does it matter if I'm a teenager? If you're talking about the driving thing, no, I don't drive, but I'm going there with family this year, and I went with family last year.

And that proves my point.....

The teenager thing was because there was no reason to bring that up seeing as it gives no more or less chance of getting to the park, you don't know the peoples circumstances. You yourself are proof of this and prove my point and disprove yours thus the speech about thinking before you type.

The End. Can't wait to see who wins there are lots of good photos in there!

I agreeing with Chris on this one. Why give it to someone who'll throw it down on the kitchen counter, forget all about it, and never use it? Instead of giving it to the person that will enjoy using it and have a good time in the park?

What a waste of a ticket if you're not going to use it, IMO.

Allena I'm sorry this is my last post on the subject I don't want this thread to be ruined by argument so I will post this one last thing on the subject then I am out of the discussion, if people still take the complaining side i'l assume they are too selfish to understand or something of that sort.

Pose this question to yourselves, "Did anyone who posted a picture say, 'Here is my photo hope I win even though I cant use the ticket!'"?

If the answer to that queston is no then stop making assumptions that people won't use the ticket, you are whining about the outcome before it even happens! sheesh.

Ok I am done with this and won't take any further part in the immaturity or in taking away from a thread chock full of amazing photos!

Some of us may look at it as a souvenir of some sort. For example, I decorate my walls with concert tickets, penn state football/basketball tickets, posters, and of course, amusement park tickets...

I'm taking several long-distance coaster-riding excursions this year (Like the TPR Deep south trip) and i'll be spending 2 days at WoF after visiting family in Kansas

I cant speak for everyone, but the general assumption would be people plan to use it if they win

I first want to say thanks to everyone who entered the contest and put up with the initial controversy over the rules. Running a good contest is harder and much more work than I imagined. However, hands down the hardest part was picking the winner. You guys all entered some really magnificent shots. In the end, there was actually dead heat for the prize. But after much deliberation the winner is:

PKI ManJZ

You can literally thank your lucky stars for this victory. Those three prominent stars in the sky gave your photo the winning edge. The indigo blue sky and clouds at the left are a luscious backdrop for Diamondback but then there’s those stars. They caught my eye more and more every time I looked at the picture. Combined with the stratus clouds, they make it magical. Is it dusk? Is it daybreak? Is this real or a dream? Those clouds and little white specks blurred ever so slightly by Earth’s rotation combining with your shutter delay really make the shot. And then of course there’s the coaster too! Great track lighting and a train streaking through the tree line. I would also love to see this shot with a static train if you have it. Again, congratulations. PM me your mailing address and the Worlds of Fun ticket is on the way! I hope you have as much fun there as I always do and I look forward to seeing your photos from there as well.

I also want to briefly spotlight the runner up: kumba830

I LOVE this picture. It looks like it comes from another planet. It is so “technical” looking that it really draws attention. Is this really a coaster? Could it be a glimpse of a futuristic transport? Maybe it’s an advanced killing machine. I don’t know! And that’s what I love about it. The sun flare at the front gives this one an awesome look. I wish I had a second ticket to give because if I did, you would have gotten it. Be VERY proud of this shot. It’s amazing!

To all concerned: I have contacted PKI ManJZ and he wants the ticket. It's already in the mail so no more discussion about who should actually get the ticket.

Well, that’s it. Again, I hope everyone had as much fun playing as I did hosting. Everyone give yourself a big round of applause. You might not be getting the ticket, but you’re still winners in my book!
