coasterdude5
2004 26th Season Vulture continues to come down. However, a saw a sign posted outside the construction fence that read: "What flies towards the sky and dives down to the ground?" Hmm... This view is quiet different now. Tree Swings is a fun ride, especially if you ride backwards. I got SOAKED on Thunder River. There's still alot standing. This little piece of a support was never repainted! liftsifter
Didn't the coaster always have white supports..? What's different about that support? It's beige? lol Oh, and yeah. Tatsu. lol
Six Flags Enthuseast
I'm thinking a falcon...
coasterdude2011
I'm guessing it'll be the first American Dive Machine. The clue gives it away for me, and I'm guessing with the time period I'm feeling a Goliath name.
Doerzb91
Hey, who knows he could throw us all a curveball and theme a GCI into a "Goliath" haha but absolutely awesome park!
coasterbill
Hello. I've been out of the RCT loop for years, but this park got my attention and yesterday I read through the whole thread. I LOVE the way you're doing this park as a timeline. I actually get attached to some of the rides and am sad to see them go. lol. Keep up the awesome work! It's making me want to go out and get a copy of RCT3.
Geauga Dog
Sad to see Vulture go but it seemed inevitable it was on its last legs a few years ago. While not a skyline changing ride now with Superman, Undertaker and Vertical Velocity dominiating the skyline it does seem to put a void in the park. My guess is that it will be a flyer since Six Flags was into building several SUF clones at this time. Maybe it will be themed to a villain this time around. coasterbill
I'm not a fan of flyers, but you're probably right. I'd have rather seen Vulture stick around... but it was showing it's age.
coasterdude5
Thanks for the replies! I'm glad there's still interest in this park after all this time! 2004 26th Season I saw a new sign today: "It's fast. It's tall. Get ready." Hmm... Tidal Wave was closed today, Thunder River and Deer Park Plunge both had considerably longer lines throughout the day. That's not acceptable for hot summer days such as today! I like this view of the park. I've heard that the park is considering adding a nighttime parade. That would be an excellent way to keep guests at the park longer. Of course, nighttime rides on Derecho will do it for me. Signing off, Tommy
imawesome1124
Derecho looks awesome at night! I bet it rides good too. I think the new coaster is going to be a Dive Machine, but I've been wrong before.
coasterbill
Is it just me or does Bugs Bunny National Park look totally dead? Maybe they need a new attraction to get some guests over there. And I think the new attraction is a rocket coaster. Kingda Ka opened in 2005 also so it wouldn't be out of the question for Six Flags to be considering adding 2 in the same year. "What flies towards the sky and dives down to the ground" and "It's fast. It's tall. Get ready." Sounds like a rocket coaster to me. Hopefully it proves to be more reliable than Ka and TTD in their inaugural seasons or Six Flags South Carolina could have some egg on their face. The only thing that's making me hesitate is that vulture had a bigger footprint than a rocket coaster would. What else would it be though? Six Flags has never purchased a dive machine, and I don't think flyers are known for being tall and fast.
tdub96
^Good points. I, too, think its an acclerator coaster, hopefully a strata-coaster. SixFlags hasnt built any divers and a flyer seems unlikely to me.
Millenniumfan94
One thing I noticed is that the park really is missing a good water park. I mean this is South Carolina
coasterbill
That's a good point. On one hand, you're so close to Folly Beach (and a ton of other beaches) that people may not want to pay to go to a waterpark, but if it's included with theme park admission it could be a hit. SC get's unbearably hot in the summer. (Okay am I over thinking this RCT3 park? lol... sorry I'm into this).
Geauga Dog
Love that night shot of Derecho's lift hill. Quite a stunning view. I agree the new sign screams accelerator coaster. Will CD5 decide to break a few records next year?
WW1 Flying Ace
An Intamin rocket seems inevitable but it could just be misleading as the answer is too obvious. Dive machine isn't out of the question nor is a Intamin Pre-Fab or a Flyer. Still it must be AQUATRAX!!!!!
coasterdude5
2004 26th Season "The Biggest. The Baddest. The Best." That's the newest sign that's been posted outside Vulture's old station. I love this view for some reason. Character Cafe had a one hour wait today. There's a new magic show in the main street theater. Can't go wrong with some bumper cars! Signing off, Tommy
braztaz
Yup, I definitely think it's an accelerator coaster!
MeMeMe
Agreed. Guess the only reason they're not telling yet is 'cause only us coaster freaks know!
coasterbill
Interesting, I guess this coaster is going to be taller than Ka since it's opening in the same year and being marketed as the "biggest" and the "best".
liftsifter
Or, it IS Kingda Ka..

WW1 Flying Ace
Biggest doesn't have to refer to the world it could be state or region. I don't think it will be a huge strata as it seems too obvious. I've over thought things and been wrong before.
griffonj2022
Gotta be some sort of Intamin accelerator, that's my bet. Hope it's a good one
Corkscrewy
Honestly, I'm hoping for something like iSpeed. That would look breathtaking in this park.
