I was a little disappointed it will not be open for pass member preview, but it gives me an excuse to go back in April.

If it gets too busy on April 4th I will rent my kids to TPR members trying to get the credit

Great photos, thanks! I adore Sesame Street (well, except for Elmo) so I actively want to check this out in person some day. Taking a ride with Grover would be seriously awesome!

Cameron.

PS: Lack of Cookie Monster is a bit surprising, especially considering stupid Elmo got TWO attractions!

The new area is really looking awesome! Even though I'd rather see a nice large flat ride (preferably German, but I don't see this comiing anytime soon), the new area looks better than I originally expected.

So did Oscar the Grouch. I imagine guests will have a chance to have their pictures taken with Cookie Monster. There's going to be some sort of food service, too, where maybe they'll sell . . .

COOKIES!!!!!

But I have no confirmation of this. No sign of the Count, either.

omg.... my butt is in 4 of those pictures... that is weird

When I spoke with one of the PR people she said that everyone can ride on media day, but during normal operation they would address single, adult riders on a person by person basis to keep the environment kid friendly. Basically they reserve the right to turn you away, but that doesn't mean they will or not. She then told my group to bring friends with children so we won't have to worry, lol. We'll see how it goes

^You've just joined, and your butt is already in four pictures on the site--TPR rules!

Welcome aboard. I don't mind their "discouragement" policy, myself. The ride is, after all, meant for parents and kids, not credit-crazed coaster enthusiasts. But I'm willing to bet most will manage to get the credit, anwyay, unlike the ever-elusive Taxi Jam at Kings Dominion.

Please tell me you spoke to the PR department about more than your concerns of if you could ride the coaster or not!

I just heard back from Christine Warren at BG in answer to two questions:

1. The engineering department is still finalizing the height requirements for the Forest of Fun attractions. They'll be posted on the Web site, which is currently being revamped.

2. The park is simply going by "Busch Gardens" now. If you need a geographic reference, use "Busch Gardens in Williamsburg."

I love BGE to begin with but, I really have to tip my hat off to them on this one. When I first heard about this project I was not so sure about how this would work. Incorporating a Sesame Street area into a Serious European enivorment. But hey, it looks like they pulled it off thus far.

Another show that's departing to make way for Elmo and his friends is Castle O'Sullivan. Yes, the castle is being transformed into a dining venue for Sesame Street character breakfasts and lunches. (So, if you missed seeing the little plastic leprechaun last year, too bad.)

Four days at BGE last year, with every intention of checking out Castle O'Sullivan, and I still couldn't manage it. Man, I suck.

Anyway, thanks for the update, Chuck!

^Why are they dropping the name Europe or Williamsburg? Is it prep for a potential InBev sale?

Don't you think they would drop "Busch" from the park name if that was the reason???????????????????

Posted

I believe the whole Busch Gardens "Europe" name was just like a 5 year ad campagin to just plant in everyone's mind and basically just to get the message out there that the park is European themed, so people realize that its much more than an amusement park.

Well, of course!!! I was there for the entire media event. They answered most of my questions in their presentations and we spoke to the GM and others afterward about random stuff like "we can ride, right?!?!?!"..... people were talking about that particular topic here, so I joined in
