Speeddeamon128 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 No here is the link http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=Maverick_RAW!_8m9z Robb the !_8m9z is not connected to the link for some reason so make sure you add it.
robbalvey Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 ^ Hmm....can you try uploading a version of that video without the "!" in it and see if it works? Me thinks that funny things happen when you have odd characters in your file names.... --Robb
Speeddeamon128 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 ^It worked! Good thinking Robb the ! was the problem. I'll fix my Manhattan Express video as well. [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=Maverick_RAW_f2jp[/coastertube] [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=ManhattanexpressRAW_NEW_d6qq[/coastertube] This video works now as well. I'll remember not to have ! in my videos for future reference.
robbalvey Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 ^ Awesome! Yeah, I kind of remembered that sometimes odd characters in your file names can do funky things when it comes to php pages and databases. The video worked fine on the site, but when you start doing other things with it you get a meltdown! Glad we figured this one out! --Robb
montezooma Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Is anyone else having trouble uploading .m4v format videos?
robbalvey Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 .m4v and .mov are supposed to work now. Can anyone give this a try and let me know your results? --Robb
robbalvey Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 Any thoughts on the new banner? http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/index.php Thumbs up/down? Comments please! --Robb
DBru Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Definitely a thumbs up on the new banner... ...but do I only see one coaster in the background?
coasterdude5 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Any thoughts on the new banner?http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/index.php Thumbs up/down? Comments please! --Robb 100x better! That was the only thing bugging me about Coastertube. Is there anyway you could get it to stretch all the way across the screen so that it aligns with everything else? Still, it's a huge improvement.
Electerik Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I like it. Pretty sure the "for" shouldn't be capitalized, technically--especially in light of the fact that "and" isn't. But I'll chalk it up to artistic license. /Oh god, I'm a grammer nazi! //So ashamed.
Crazy4Coasters! Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Hey Robb did you enlarge the banner because it looks better now. By the way those yellow borders on the left work well dividing the links.
robbalvey Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 ^^ Yeah, on that last page I posted the following: Any thoughts on the new banner? http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/index.php Thumbs up/down? Comments please! --Robb

Comments please! --Robb ...Is there anyway you could get it to stretch all the way across the screen so that it aligns with everything else?.... Sorry, I meant to say before "coasterdude5" posted the banner didn't look as big as it is now. That's what I was referring to when I posted.
robbalvey Posted February 26, 2009 Author Posted February 26, 2009 ^ No, banner is the same size as when I originally posted it. It's not going to be able to be stretched for a number of reasons, mainly due to the entire page being designed to look good on a lower resolution screen (1024x768) and any additional art that goes beyond that would require people to scroll. We wanted to avoid that. Maybe for CoasterTube 2.0 we'll work on it! --Robb
Crazy4Coasters! Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 ^ That's if Coastertube can make it past 2012...

But it's not a big issued.
jedimaster1227 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 ^^^Let me just say that the banner looks fantastic!
cfc Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 .m4v and .mov are supposed to work now. Can anyone give this a try and let me know your results? --Robb Same result as before, Robb--just an error message and a little blank box. I tried uploading it to the forum, but all that came over was the audio (such as it is), along with this message: "Error downloading codec." Maybe it's a problem at my end. Expedition Everest v Godzilla.MOV
robbalvey Posted February 26, 2009 Author Posted February 26, 2009 ^ Yeah, it might be. Especially since another .mov test was completed today and it seemed to work. What did you use to make this movie? --Robb
cfc Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 ^Just my Panasonic Lumix digital camera. In the past, I'd managed to upload a short video to the site that I took with my old Fuji Finepix camera (might've been a different format). Well, it's not like I do a lot of video, anyway.
HEADCHEEZ Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 I'm getting VERY low quality! Is it just my computer or is everyone having this problem?
Jds03 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 I'm getting VERY low quality! Is it just my computer or is everyone having this problem? I noticed that too, but I also noticed that it loaded about 4 times faster. There’s probably a quality vs. load time ratio.
robbalvey Posted February 26, 2009 Author Posted February 26, 2009 I'm getting VERY low quality! Is it just my computer or is everyone having this problem? Which videos specifically? They are of different quality depending on the source. For example, do you feel this video is "VERY low quality?" [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=divecoaster_chimelong_t8l9[/coastertube] --Robb
triggernel Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 IMO, that is pretty high quality, compared to your average online video.
jedimaster1227 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 ^^I don't know if it is just my tired eyes, but having watched that same video earlier today, I think the quality is less now than that of what I watched before. There are more visible pixels and a little bit less of a smooth frame rate. I downloaded the video earlier using the iPod conversion option, and I could have sworn that the video looked far better (on par with the Kawasemi video). Then again, it may just be my eyes.
