Sir Clinksalot Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 ^^ I'll be there Al. It will be good to see you as we seem to keep missing each other at Disneyland. ^ As I recall, they don't sell alcohol in the park.
Calicoasters Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 ^That is correct. There is no alcohol sold at the park. But there are plenty of shot glasses you can buy
newrollercoasterlover17 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I have a countdown widget on my laptop that is set to the day and time of WCB 6. Only two more weeks to go! Speaking of which, I will be going to California by myself and was wondering if anyone needs to even out their group, or if anyone else was going along by their selves. I think it would be nice to meet new friends.
Calicoasters Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I that case, I have a lot of Toothpick Holders Will Grand Oak be available to us all day?
Philrad71 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 No beer, but plenty of toothpick holders? Well...I was originally gonna whine about no beer, but as long as there are plenty of toothpick holders, I guess I'm cool with it! Hey wait...we'll be in the motor home - KEG PARTY/FUNNELS IN THE PARKING LOT!!! WOO-HOO!
100Sup Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 One question I have about the event. It's my first time going to this event (first time I've been able to actually do it!). I can't find the answers on the FAQ, so here's my question: Do I actually need to bring anything with me to Check-In? How do I check-in? Are my tickets at the check-in table? And will our T-Shirts be at the table also?

CoasterKings908 Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Hey Rob, I have a friend who isn't sure yet. Can we register him at the event?
rcroques Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 I'll be sending in my registration form on Monday, most likely. I'll be there by myself as my friend that I wanted to go with me will probably have to work that day. And, on a totally unrelated note, I have an entire cabinet full of toothpick holders. Sincerely, R.C.
georgeriley15 Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 It should be a pretty slow day at the park. Last year most of us managed to get on all of the coasters within the operating day. I think it might be more crowded this year. Last year was before the majority of spring breaks had begun. Not that it matters too much. You can always get X2 and Tatsu at ERT in the morning and get the rest by lunch. When the gates open to the public head counter clockwise from Goliath. I beg to differ... I think it's best to start at the rope next to Tatsu, and head straight up to Ninja and Superman, then straight down to Deja Vu (if running), then clockwise through Batman—1-train usually so you'd better get there EARLY — then Riddler, Colossus/Scream, and Goliath. It should be a pretty slow day at the park. Last year most of us managed to get on all of the coasters within the operating day. It was earlier last year, this year it is at the beginning of most schools spring break(s). I would guess it will be more crowded than last year. Hopefully I'm wrong... But yes, you should easily be able to do all the coasters. Hi Gregg! Hope you are going and we can meet up... If it's hideously crowded, we should all beg Robb to hold it earlier next year... Otherwise we should reconsider future attendance as we will be approaching the same misery as ACE has with their events' enormous queue lines. We don't want that to happen... RIGHT??? (think... EWT... exclusive wait time... yes... it may be coming sooooooon... ) just kidding---hopefully ADMIN EDIT: Please do not double post. If you wish to add information to a topic in which you are the last poster, please edit your previous post.
cgodsey Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Actually Robb and I want to keep it during Solace weekend to keep the attendance where it is. Usually, it is earlier in the month (last year it was this weekend), but Knotts chose the 21st for Solace which set WCB for the 22nd. Sorry, but the attendance would have to be beyond our expectations for the date to be moved away from Solace. From doing this the last 6 years, I know that Knott's DOES move Solace around to suit them at times(hotel occupancy levels, etc.) If you want to reconsider attending the event, that is up to you. We still believe the event is awesome for the price you are getting even if the crowds during the day might be a tad larger than normal. Riding X2 for two hours before park opening with 300 other people alone is worth $30 IMO. Chris

The only problem with this plan is that MANY times last year Ninja and Superman were not open at park opening. I stick by my original statement. EWT... exclusive wait time... yes... it may be coming sooooooon... ) just kidding---hopefully Who cares how crowded it is? You are in the parking lot before everyone else. You get ERT. When the park opens you head away from Tatsu and X2. Before you know it it's lunch time. We leave right from lunch to tours and then straight to the Q and A. TPR and RW packed the event so much last year that we got to the Q and A late. By then it's almost time for night ERT. That's how it was for me last year. It may be different this year but I highly doubt you will be waiting in lines unless you really really want to.
georgeriley15 Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Sorry for the confusion. What I meant was that I hope the WCB does not start to draw so many people that the ERT becomes overly crowded. I wasn't referring to general public time at all. My party doesn't feel a need to ride any coasters after about 11 am anyway, since there's nighttime ERT. I once went to a CoasterCon with ACE a few years back and the queues during ERT were WAY longer than at the regular park time, so it really became pointless to attend the ERT (with ACE, that is).

My mistake. I didn't realize you meant the actual event. With the size of the park I can't see it getting too bad. I can handle waiting a few dispatches on X2.

As far as the event size, we will begin to put caps on the number of participants if it gets way out of hand so don't worry. We want to keep the ERT "Exclusive"!
socalMAN123 Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 ^ Which just proves how much more awesome TPR and Rideworld are than ACE. ---Brent
Scream162 Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 CoasterMania is an example of an event that is overly crowded now. When I attended back in 2007, the wait for Maverick was over 45 minutes because resort guests were allowed to ride it too. Also, the line to get food was over 30 minutes (no surprise there, though, since there were hundreds of ACE members present...) Last year, the wait for Tatsu was maybe 2-3 trains at the most which isn't too terrible for ERT. Since there are 4 coasters open for ERT in the morning this year, the bigger crowds will be more evenly distributed but with the majority of folks lined up for X2. I don't see X2's line being more than 10 minutes.
ebl Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 I got an e-mail today encouraging me to go to a link and register for the West Coast Bash. Last week, I got one confirming that I was already registered. The e-mail in question... Hey everyone! If you are planning to attend West Coast Bash at Six Flags Magic Mountain on Sunday, March 22nd please register ASAP here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/store/index.php?categoryID=9 We have to submit our T-Shirt order TOMORROW (Monday) so the sooner we have all confirmed orders in, the better. Yes, you can still register onsite the day of the event but we will have a limited amount of tickets and T-Shirt sizes. If you want to guarantee you have a ticket and shirt, register online NOW! See you at West Coast Bash 2009! I am confoozed . Please un-confooze me... Eric
Scream162 Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 ^If I'm not mistaken, everyone on the forums received that email regardless of whether or not they were already registered for the event.
ebl Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 ^ Yeah, that was my first thought, but just didn't want to miss out just in case we really needed to do anything else. Eric
HEADCHEEZ Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Will Deja Vu be open for the bash or will it still be on re-hab?
The Disneylander Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 A few questions... If we cannot attend the event after paying, will we able to get a refund? Is it okay if we mail the registration in with cash instead of check/money order? Sorry if this has already been asked, but I'm too lazy to search through 20+ page for the answer.
USfriends Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 We (snail)mailed our check and registration 3 weeks ago and didn't get any email at all. Sent PM to Robb, still waiting for confirmation.
robbalvey Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 A few questions... If we cannot attend the event after paying, will we able to get a refund? There are no refunds, sorry. Once you register and pay, we have to purchase your T-Shirt and your event admission and we do not get refunds either. Is it okay if we mail the registration in with cash instead of check/money order? You can send cash if you want to, but remember sending it can be risky just in case something happens.
