Noxegon Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 A TPR South America Trip is in the works for 2010 or 2011, and we are very excited! Me too I figured that Brazil was two weeks on its own mind...
SteveC Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Obrigado and all that! - nice report, looks like a lot of fun that day also. I see the CBMR appear to have the same male/female ratios as most coaster groups though, then again it is all about the coasters and NOT about hot Brazilian babes I'm hoping to be in Brazil in 2010 also (maybe Christmas 09 actually), so I'll be sure to look up your site and hassle you for some advice nearer the time. Cheers Steve C
slither37 Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Boobs r cool. Great trip report, the park looks awesome. I especially like the themeing on the river rapids ride Acqualokos (1 home-made hybrid coaster) Home made coaster? Sounds fun, I think.
chef kitchen Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Thats looks like a decent ride. Awesome theming
JuanSe_Colombia Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Colombia: Parque Nacional del Cafe (1 Schwarzkopf Extended Jumbo Jet) Is actually Zambezi Zinger I live just two hours by car from the park
Loefet Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I believe BCW's 1st gen is the last of it's kind. But don't worry: the park has no plans to shut it down! People love it!There are one in Italy, four in Japan and still one in America, that are still up and running.
thrillerman1 Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Elissa can you go ahead and sign me up for that Brazil/SA trip?!
lucazferrazCBMR Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Elissa, That'll be a pleasure to help! Perhaps we could gather both TPR and CBMR on this South America Trip, if you don't mind... About the 1st gen free-falls: nice to know that there are others still operating! About the SLCs theming: Really cool those three, specially Infusion. But still think Firewhip looks better..smile Any TPR member who comes to Brazil, please, contact me: lucaz@cbmr.com.br and we can go together to some parks! Best regards!
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 The themeing looks pretty amazing... I'm surprized it isn't using the new SLC trains like on Fly the Great 'nor Easter? ~ Jess "frequent flyer" Chan
Mechanic Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 ^ It's new to the Brazilian park, but not a new coaster. It was relocated from a Japanese park.
the ghost Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 ^ The new trains are on the Nor' Easter, which has been there for quite a while. I agree with everyone else, and think the park and SLC have some very nice theming.
Rocket Rodder Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Very snazzy. Does that logo mean "Brazilian roller coaster club" by chance? Just a guess. This Beto Carrero.. He was a genius. (Who was he?) This place looks incredible!
Ed Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Awesome trip report! I think that SLC and Infusion are the best looking of their kind, by far! The rest of the park looks pretty good as well. I might start saving for a trip now!
Guy T. Koepp Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Really great TR. Seriously, that is the nicest looking SLC on the planet! The park looks beautiful and seems to be very well maintained. Congrats on a great new ride.
lucazferrazCBMR Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 The parks is indeed very great looking and very well maintained (is this how this word is spelled?). Beto Carrero was really a genius. He was born very poor and built a fortune by creating advertises and later by investing on TV Shows. He supported the park with his own money for about a decade until the park had enough profit to run on its own. And the park supports the city where it is, maintaining roads and a social institute that gives education to poor children and jobs for poor people that live nearby. He died one year ago and his funeral was followed by 8 thousand people in a rainy day. Yes, that logo means CBMR - Clube Brasileiro de Montanhas Russas, which is the Portuguese for "Brasilian Coaster Club". I hope to see TPR around here soon! It will be a huge pleasure to show you our parks!! Lucaz
triggernel Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I am probably the only one that noticed this, but the giant/troll thing on Raskapuska is the same as the one in the wisconsin dells. Just a little fun fact!
lucazferrazCBMR Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 ^^ what's a Wisconsin dell? About the old free-fall: I talked to park's operation manager and said: "please, never take this ride down!" And he said: "We'd never! On the opposite way: we have plans to re-theme it." So, good news for old intamin fans!
Airtime&Gravity Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 ^The Wisconsin Dells is a tourist trap resort area that serves the Midwest (mainly the Chicago/Twin cities area), and even though it is cheesy and overpriced, it is still a fun place to visit. (it's the only thing Wisconsin has going for it) That is good news that the park will work on the old free fall ride since so many of them have been removed recently.
WillianBrazil Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Hello TPR, I am new here, I am Brazilian, I belong to CBMR.
