Angry_Gumball Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Typically, this could go in the random video thread but I already asked Robb prior to this posting and he said it should be OK for me to post this in it's own topic. Basically, we had to make a 3-minute cartoon for my animation class up at Cal State. Stumped on what to do for a story line, I thought about TPR, coasters, and the ever-so controversial topic of sneaking cameras on rides...and so this cartoon is an extreme consequence of what would happen in the cartoon world. So yea...it's inspired by Final Destination 3 in a sense. Character design, as posted in the TPR Art thread was inspired by Flip Dude's characters. The 2 main characters are based on my cousin and I, doing our routine visit to what would be our home park wanting to hit up the newest coaster, a B&M dive machine! (Wishful thinking..lol) Being the drop tower addict I am, I pull us over to that instead for our first ride. We then check up the new coaster, Hi Dive where things break loose. Before I tell the rest of the story, just watch and enjoy! Feel free to comment! And please don't follow these character's bad examples!
chmilo24 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 That was awesome!!! I loved the seagulls, and it was pretty graphic. --Chris
ebl Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 That was...interesting. But very enjoyable. I'd love to learn how to do something like that. Eric
U2Rox Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Yeah, That was pretty funny!! Great little video! Did you get an A?
Angry_Gumball Posted December 4, 2008 Author Posted December 4, 2008 I'm sure I will...it's due on the 10th, I'm finished with it already, allowing time to work on the rest of my final projects.
Goliath513 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Is that Flight Deck I see at the beginning of the video? Great use of animation and humor to present the argument against bringing loose articles on rides. Good job! If only CGA could get a dive machine like that (without the Cedar Fair inspired name of course).

After watching this more times I'm realizing how hard it is to understand the story dialogue-wise. I"m creating another version with subtitles to see how that goes, so that I have 2 versions of this video.
Goliath513 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 ^ Change the girl's name to Sarah, and you will have an accurate portrayal of infinitethrill's theme park antics.
the ghost Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Wow, I have never seen a coaster animation besides like NL or coaster models look realistic, like the innelman on the dive machine. Also any enthusiast would no that the drop tower was an intamin. Awesome job
DiSab Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 That was fantastic. I wish I could learn how to do something that complex.
sixflagsguy5 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Nice job. I wonder if they would ever consider playing clips like that in line for coasters (without blood and people dieing).
Mr. Starr Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 ^ Yeah, you could make some money Also, was this Final Destination 3 inspired? In the movie the dudes camera falls onto the track, and the train falls off...

masterofthematrix91 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 MINE, MiINE, MIIINE lol that was really great 9/10
CoastersNSich Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Good stuff. Besides noticing the similarity to FD3, I also remember the whistling noise from the farting dog at the beginning of the BonBonLand video that TPR did.
odene497 Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Ha, that was pretty cool! I like how the people died. And I also recognized the farting dog whistle from Bonbon Land.
thrillrideseeker Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 LMAO! That was great! I love the "Mine Mine Mine" Best coaster video ever! ~Matthew
socalMAN123 Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 The seagulls make that video. Kudos! ---Brent
