The officiating has been pretty typical for the NBA and not nearly as bad as I've seen it get sometimes. I thought the game was called, or not called, as the case may be, pretty close to evenly bad against both teams.

I honestly think Denver is gonna win in seven at this point. I'm just not seeing the fire from the Lakers. I'd like to be wrong but it's just my gut feeling.

Seriously? I feel almost exactly the opposite. It's not like the game was the end of the world or anything. Kobe lost the handle on the ball a couple times late in the game, and that's not exactly typical. Despite almost everything possible going wrong in the last minute, they still had the chance to toss up a 3 and try for overtime. Sure, it didn't work out this time, but if you tell me I can have the Lakers and game that's within 3 points with a minute to go, I'll take it every time.

LEBRON JAMES IS AMAZING OMFG WITNESS KING JAMES!!!!!!!!!

nevermind his team has pretty much squandered two double digit leads at home

^ Yeah, that was amazing!

Although, I think Cleveland has got serious problems. If we have a Denver vs Orlando final I'll bet ABC is going to be pissed!

I just told my dad tonight that the Lakers have ADD. They have the fire...when they want to. I get the feeling they are playing down to Denver to try and give themselves more of a challenge than it has to be.

During that whole series all we will be hearing about would be how it was supposed to be Kobe vs LeBron. Nothing good would be said about those two teams.

This is what I've been talking about. Back when Shaq was with the Lakers, the refs used to let him get away with murder so that he'd make it to the finals yet again. Then we had that ref getting caught for screwing Phoenix against San Antonio a while back, because the Spurs were a higher profile team that would have gotten bigger ratings in the finals.

This is precisely what I don't like about the NBA today. TV is more important than the game itself. Everyone seems to want to see the "superstars" show off and dunk all over the place. Small market teams aren't generally allowed to grow and develop, because they don't get ratings RIGHT NOW. Competition is discouraged, as the same teams win titles year after year. Dynasties are only fun for the people in dynasty cities, and vastly overrated IMO.

So my prediction...the Lakers, the NY Yankees of the NBA, will win yet another title, against a small market Cleveland team that was just lucky enough to have a superstar like Lebron on their squad.

Sorry for sounding so negative...this is just the ramblings of a frustrated Orlando fan.

Video of the last shot last night should be added to every online dictionary under the definition of "clutch". It's crazy that it had to come down to that, but at least The King answered the bell and delivered when it counted.

You realize the 2003, 2005, and 2007 NBA Finals were the lowest rated ever....and all featured the Spurs?

As with every other game winner. That wasn't the best game winner last night.

Really? I thought Tim Duncan and company were a bigger draw than that.

Trevor Ariza was amazing.

On a side note, this was a must win for L.A. Not just to "steal back" home court advantage, because you would need to win on the road to win a series anyway. L.A. needed this game to prove that Denver isn't the best team in basketball right now. I don't think L.A. is a good enough team to overcome a series deficit against a team this good. Watching some of the Nuggets' mannerisms showed me that this loss really hurt them emotionally. They brought their "A" game and fell short. I know how much that hurts, and if the Lakers can feed off of that this can end in 6. It all depends on what happens in game 4.

Awesome game. Both teams were playing so well against each other. Can't believe Ariza basically pulled off the same steal. Amazing series so far.

Magic up 2-1. Can't help but think I saw this coming. It's nothing more than opinion that I think the Cavs are only an "above average" team. I can only hope that Dwight and Co. can keep this up for 2 more games.

Well once again the Lakers show their erratic playing style tonight against Denver. I honestly thought after beating Houston they would have the monkey off their back. Seems to me that only saving grace they have now is home court advantage that hopefully will be just enough to get by Denver... That's if they show up to play on Wednesday night!!!

I expect to see the East series tied up as well. It sure is looking like both series could go 7 games. I still think we'll get the Kobe - LeBron matchup in the finals.

Posted

You would think Denver won the series last night the way they and their fans were acting. Uhm, they do realize that they are just tied and have to play in LA tomorrow night right???

As for the Orlando/Cleveland series, it's becoming more evident with each game that if LeBron doesn't score 50, the Cavs are going to lose. Orlando would be going for the sweep tonight if LeBron hadn't hit that last minute shot in game 2.

I hate to say it, Orlando is the better "Team" in that series.

Posted

LeBron could score 70 and they still could lose. You said it right when you said Orlando has the better team. Look at Sunday night, Hedo had an awful night and Howard barely played, and they still won.

Right now, it's like a 5 on 1 game, and LeBron is not that good to overcome that.
