Hercules Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I really like Orlando, but I just don't see it yet. I think they are at least 2 years away. And I still just can't see LeBron getting back. It seems like he does it by himself every night. Eventually he is just going to have to burn out, or just plain not come through.
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 Every good team has at last a 1-2 punch. The Bulls had MJ and Scottie. The Jazz had Stockton and Malone. The Lakers had Kobe and Shaq. Boston last year had a dream team. Lebron is all by his lonesome. He's not gonna get a ring by himself. Ask Sir Charles, ask AI. They'll tell you the same.
themeparkman25 Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I hope melo gets back soon...Nuggies are good without him but not that good
Hercules Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 How bad do the Bulls need a center not named Noah?
mcjaco Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 ^ As bad as they need a head coach. I used to have faith in John Paxson, but he's put together one the most talented, but uncoachable teams in recent history. Â Vinny Del Negro has no business walking the sidelines.
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 In the same way Mark Cuban doesn't need to be on the team bench. lol
BeemerBoy Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 ^ I'll never quite understand the general dislike of Mark Cuban. I mean, is he really doing anything any of us wouldn't do with all that cash? He may be a dork, but I don't ever mind seeing a team owner who's as passionate as he is about his team. As long as he owns the Mavs, at least the folks in Dallas shouldn't have to worry about being the next Seattle.
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 I think where a lot of folks have problems with Cuban is his over-the-top enthusiasm with the game being played at that moment. It's like he watches the game through the eyes of a fan. Sounds like a great and dedicated owner, but that's just it. No own would expect Donald Sterling to flip cartwheels everytime Baron Davis nailed a 3-ball. Being passionate about your team is one thing, but we all know that there is a fine line between being passionate about something a being a douche.
Wes Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Yeah, how terrible for a dude who spends millions and millions of dollars to be active and excited about his investment. Â I wish more owners were like him. At least you know he's in it for more than the money.
BeemerBoy Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 ^^ Al Davis = douche. Mark Cuban = just passionate, and a bit over-enthusiastic. Â Don't get me wrong, I understand why he can rub some people wrong. But like I mentioned, ask places like Seattle (Sonics), Quebec (Nordiques), Winnipeg (Jets), etc. etc. if they would have liked to have had a Mark Cuban as owner.
Hercules Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I would much rather have a young, vibrant owner who is a fan of the game than an old, stone faced man who thinks of the 12 men on the bench as his investment.
BeemerBoy Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 "It's ironic, I had the brew she had the chronic The Lakers beat the Thunder." Â Â Hmmm, not quite the same effect anymore.
ginzo Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 ^ I'll never quite understand the general dislike of Mark Cuban. Â I think it's his tendency to make absurd statements to the press even when he's completely and utterly wrong. For example, he had a well-publicized interview a few years back where he blasted Google for purchasing YouTube.
themeparkman25 Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Im telling you! Nuggets are looking good!
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 ^But not great. It's sad to see that aside from San Antonio (and I'm giving them the benefit of doubt because of their history) The west seems like a done deal up until early June. You'd think that western teams would've been more competitive this year.
Crazy4Coasters! Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Clippers win, Clippers win, Clippers win!!! I just saw the Clippers vs. Celtics game and it just might seem they're finally waking up this season. Now I just hope they it make it to .500 this season.
Wes Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 ^ I think it's literally impossible for them to hit .500 this season. They've played 57 games already, even if they win all of their next 25, their record would still be 39-43.
Crazy4Coasters! Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Yea I forgot that All Star weekend already past so for sure we're more than half way in the season. I saw that their next 2 games are against the Kings and the Bobcats. Just to give Clipper nation a little bit of love I hope they win those next 2 games and get a little streak going to save some face from this season.
xsk8erboi73x Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 ^ Marbury is known as a team chemistry killer. I think it's a bad decision by the Celtics.
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted March 2, 2009 Author Posted March 2, 2009 ^Even greater news for us in Lakerdom
